We loved the place, the two ladies behind the bar were great and chatty. You could wave your hand and they saw you, even when they had other things going on. Best of all, they were in charge of the bar and didn’t put up with any garbage from young punks coming in acting all crazy, due to Mardi Gras. We were there Sunday afternoon for a good hour and saw lots of different people coming and going. The frozen coffee is popular, but so is the warm irish coffee. Have some good brews on draft. Fun dive bar on Decatur, worth a trip in, if you are in New Orleans! Great history on the walls.

I wanted to give this place a «no stars» reviews but it’s not possible. I’m not the type to go on sites writing bad reviews but this one took the cake. Marti gras weekend my siblings and I went to this bar. Empty, for one. On a SATURDAY… That should have been an indication of something being wrong. Our bar tender as extremely rude and I think her attitude was due to some racism as we are all Latinos. There were roaches seen walking around. And we got some tequila shots that honestly were nothing like tequila. So over all. Worst bar I’ve ever been to in all my years of hanging out.

Reading through the reviews, I feel that I missed out on their better known specialties; I only grabbed a shot and a beer. First of all, you are greeted by a welcoming dark, dusty vibe that only a «locals» bar could provoke. Molly’s was recommended to us because we had asked for a bar with a pool table. They only have one, but you sign your name up for it and the bartender is kind enough to strictly enforce it. Very quiet, very empty. However, everyone we conversed with was possibly –the nicest person we had ever met– we received many recommendations and friendly interactions amongst both the patrons and the employees. Definitely a top on our list of re-visitation if we ever make our way back to the Big Easy.

Best frozen Irish coffee deserves a 5 star in itself. And I am not a coffee drinker either. It’s worth coming here just for that. Friendly vibe.

Love the juke box! Music is always great. Drinks are a little overpriced for what you get. Very low-key, though tends to attract pool sharks that will pick fights and try and get your dollars. I would avoid challenging anyone to a game of pool or trying to get on an occupied table.

This is a dive bar half a block off Bourbon Street on Toulouse Street. We were there on Thanksgiving night and had most of the place to ourselves. Our bartender was very attentive, and I would go back again.

First off, I could not find much«Irish» about this place other than maybe a couple of Guinness posters and some green paint haha. Overall just a typical bar in the Quarter, but stood out because of the bartender we had this night. We came in and sat down, but she noticed some friends of hers coming in and overlooked us until she had made their drinks. After she realized the mistake, she apologized and gave us the first round free. Her service the rest of the night was outstanding. The music(mostly 90’s alternative) was a welcome to me, and my partner enjoyed the video poker machines in the back too.

Sadly when I returned on July 15th, I sat at the bar only to be ignored. The waitress wasn’t busy except for yakking with some guy at the end of the bar. I entered and exited with no acknowledgement at all. So disappointing.

This is my favorite place and you are not invited. Ok. You can come in if you promise to behave, drink, pay for your drinks, and be a decent human being. I’d call out a favorite bartender but they each rock my life with all their personalities.

For our second night in NOLA we did an impromptu Irish Bar Crawl off of Bourbon Street. We hit a few places that we enjoyed and then walked into Molly’s.there were only a handful of people in the bar. Bartender came over to us and seemed ok. One of the regulars started talking to us. As we were finishing our drink there was a little drama with a regular then we hear and were basically told it was a local bar. After the THIRD time she said it, ok I can take a hint! I guess my money is not wanted. Bar wasn’t that great anyway and found better alternatives!

The frozen Irish is silly… for an additional element of fun have a race to see who in the group can finish it first(only drinking through the straw)

We were here late on a Wednesday night and it was our last stop of our off Bourbon street bar hopping adventure. The bartender was also our bartender from Toulouse Dive Bar the previous night. She remembered I take lime with my beer which I thought was impressive considering how many people she must see. The place was dead but it was a nice place for cheap drinks.

Love this cozy dive bar! Ducked in to get out of the rain and stayed for hours. Great bartenders, juke and drink specials. No douchers either, everyone was chill and friendly.

We slipped into this place on Friday around 5ish during FQ Fest. Needed a bathroom and it looked like the perfect place to have a beer and chill away from the crowds. We sat there by the window for a long time. Drinking a glass of Abita and talking. I really like this place. We went back last Saturday while just walking around the FQ. Again, quiet but not too quiet. Chatty locals and non locals. We sat by the opened window again and people watched, drank and talked. There’s a jukebox with Acid Bath as an option… talk about blast from the past! There’s also a pool table. Ladies, the bathroom is small but clean. No hooks for a purse(I’m on a mission to change this).

This was one of the many bars our group stopped in at during our time in New Orleans. Pretty standard Irish pub with all the typical trappings you might expect. Its actually quite a bit bigger than what it looks like from the outside but still fairly small. They do pack a lot into the space though as there is a pool table and some video games near the back and a few tables near the entrance.

I have great memories ducking into this place with friends after a pouring rain that involves snakes, Irish car bombs and the Big Lebowski. The environment is dark and moody. Many locals come here and you will enjoy that fact alone before you even order a drink. You will also enjoy the Irish punk metal blaring from the jukebox. Or the odd variety showing in the television set. This place is a Must when visiting the Bourbon street area.

«I’ll have to close your tab, it’s 6AM» Yes, those are the words I heard on my first visit to Molly’s! This place is a perfect dive bar, dark, cool music on the jukebox, a pool table, TCM on the TV and when I was there, the Christmas tree, decorated with Mardi Gras lights was still up. Nice to find a local hangout and the vibe was ultra relaxed. I don’t really know if many tourists stumble in here or not, but this place reminded me of my own local dives back home. A definite must, if you’re looking for a reasonably priced drink in a non Bourbon Street type of atmosphere.

the dungeon wouldnt let us bring in outside drinks and the bartender at mollys had no prob lettin us chill in his empty lil bar for a while theres plenty of room to hang out here and a pool table to keep urself occupied… i wouldnt go outta my way to visit but if u want a bar close to bourbon without all the noise and madness and kitsch factor then this might just be ur safe haven
