We have been roadtripping for 6 weeks in usa and this dinner was absolutely the worst on the entire trip. We were a party of four and neither one of us finished our overprized meals. Don’t bother to eat here, go anywhere but here. They need to step up their food and service.

First place we stopped for lunch on Friday. At this time Bourbon street isn’t too bad, so we managed to get a table upstairs on the balcony in the shade. Our waitress was really fun and put us in a good mood. No tap beers upstairs but there was a reasonable selection of local beers. I chose gumbo to eat. You have a choice in portion sizes and the bowl was the right size dos lunchtime I feel. Would be happy to go back.

Sat there for 15 minutes and never got helped. All the waitresses were just standing at the bar. Nice view but when you can’t even get a drink what’s the point?!?

Unfriendly waitress and charging for soft drink refills at a dive restaurant made this an unpleasant experience. Food was alright but a avoid that place if you want service with a smile

DONOT, I repeat do not eat here! Terrible service and even worse food. We didn’t even eat before having to hunt down the waitress to pay. Terrible!

Plain and simple: MEDIOCREATBEST. Burgers and small, servers are rude and entitled. 20% gratuity added off course they don’t mention it until after food has been eaten.

After a really long day we were really hungry and saw the man outside with a menu, who lured us in by telling us how many menu items were delicious. We went upstairs and were seated on the balcony because there was nothing else. We sat waiting for 20 minutes without service and started to wonder whether or not we should stay. At that point we saw another staff member berating a customer who was unhappy with their service. At that point we decided to take off. Who treats their customers that way? Glad we didn’t stay to find anything worse.

We ordered the jambalaya and burbon hot wings along with a hurricane and Long Island ice tea. The food was decent, hurricane tasted like cough syrup and the service was mediocre. When we saw the waitresses attitude(she appeared to hate working there), we were tempted to leave, but we were hungry and in a hurry so we stayed. It’s a wonder this establishment is in business.

We stopped for dinner because the guy outside encouraged us to come in and the menu looked good. We sat on the balcony upstairs and was greeted by the most unhappy waitress ever. As I ordered she cut me off and pretty much yelled at me and asked me what I wanted when I had told her. After we got our food she never really came back. Food was better than I expected really good mayo. Not sure if it’s house made or what but awesome. Would have gave this place more stars if it wasn’t for service. If you want to be treated pretty poorly but want a quick decent bite go for it.

We had already eaten and my wife wanted some chocolate cake. As we were walking by, the gentleman outside invited us and said the chocolate cake was delicious. He took us upstairs and sat us down. The waitress gave us menus, but when we told her we were there just for dessert, she automatically changed her attitude and was very rude. I’m guessing she assumed since we weren’t ordering food, she wasn’t going to get a great tip. My wife ordered a chocolate cake and I ordered a coffee with cream and sugar. She came back about 10 minutes later and said she didn’t have chocolate cake. She never apologized or offered alternatives, so we asked for a cheesecake. She brought the cheesecake and my coffee black. I had asked her for cream and sugar and she didn’t bring it. She also stopped coming to our table at that point. We had to go up to her, and she gave us the sugar, no cream, and again, no apology. At that point, we paid and left. It’s unacceptable for a waitress to be so rude. Never going back there.

The food was great. The service was the worst EVER!!! No napkins, refills took too long, order was messed up in one plate and the waitress disappeared for about 15 minutes, forcing us to walk to the counter and pay. After all that the cashier wasn’t organized taking some time to get finally out of there.

Went upstairs to eat. First of all the food was pretty good. Even considering they put the wrong cheese on my burger. But, the service destroyed it. The waitress seemed annoyed at best. She took the order without writing it down(hence the incorrect cheese being served). After bringing the food she never returned. We sat for over 30 minutes waiting for a check. After going to the register ourselves to pay she didn’t know what table we were or how to work the credit card machine. We we never return to this place. There are too many options in the French Quarter to eat to accept horrible service.

I am not one to write restaurant reviews, so the fact that I am now should speak volumes on how I feel about this place. This is solely in regards to the poor service we received. Firstly, we(party of 7) were encouraged by a gentleman at the front door to enter the place. He directed us upstairs on the balcony patio, told us to seat ourselves, and promptly left to beckon other victims in. The blonde«waitress» nagged at us for doing so(with an awful, awful tone), saying that«that wasn’t their policy» and that the guy downstairs«doesn’t know what he’s doing.» We were then waited on by another lady who took her merry ol’ time to take our order. She did not greet us in a welcoming fashion. We weren’t asked what drinks we needed prior to ordering our meals. One guy in our party ordered a beer, and she proceeded to say, «So one beer? And water for the rest then?» We waited 1 hr + for our food to arrive(the two«starters» came out AFTER the main dishes). Despite remaining patient, the waitress ignored any and all of our attempts to be courteous, as if «you’re welcome» wasn’t in her vocabulary and never bothered to check in with whether our meals were to our liking. After we ate(food was nothing to boast about) we ALL received inaccurate bills, mixing up some of our orders and charging others for things they didn’t order altogether. Irritated about the poor service, my boyfriend asked to speak to the manager, which happened to be the first waitress who had yelled at us for seating ourselves. She was very unprofessional in handling the situation, stating that the matter was«between the server and you.» My boyfriend asked to remove the 18% gratuity included on the bill(automatically charged for parties larger than 5), and the waitress that served us gave us an awful attitude. Something along the lines of «Bad service?! Whateva!!» While all of this panned out, we watched as another frustrated customer came inside from the balcony patio to find someone to wait on his table. They were not even busy in the slightest this evening. AVOID.

The gumbo was cold … Had some sort of shell or rock in it people weren’t busy so I didn’t understand the service they didn’t seem to care that this is how they make money …

We were eager to find a hambugar joint for our daughter. We went in because of the nice man who was successful soliciting patrons to go into the the restaurant. We had food with us from another restaurant and we were willing to get the meal to go. The waitress rudely expressed her policy regarding outside food. We told her we understood and was willing to order to go. Her unprofessional behavior and apparent disgust clouded her ability to properly service customers. We usually check reviews before we patronize such a restaurant… thanks for the reminder.

Tale of two tales. My wife LOVED her pasta, but I was disappointed with the gumbo. The service was good and the ambiance was fun. I would recommend to try, but stay away from the gumbo.

Definitely a little hole in the wall! I normally do not leave reviews but this place has amazing food. Their fifty/fifty burger is the best burger I’ve ever had! Severs are a little goofy… But hey, I come for the food, not them.

Cool spot to sit on the balcony on Bourbon St. and people watch. That’s the best thing about this place. The po boys were just okay. I ordered shrimp and my friend ordered the hot sausage. We weren’t blown away, but it filled our tummies and fueled us for the long night ahead. We also ordered a drink and it was small, so we didn’t bother with another.

Scored amazing balcony seats during Mardi Gras while having lunch at this restaurant. The crab cakes were my favourite and will remain my favourite for a long, long time! Make sure to try them out. I had a bite of my friends étouffée and another alfredo pasta. Both were pleasantly delicious. The washrooms need a bit of work but that doesn’t affect my rating. The reason why this review is getting a 4 and not a 5 is because our server was horrible and rude. No southern hospitality there. Instead of going into detail, I’ll leave it nice and sweet for y’all. Just order your food and eat it. Don’t come to Johnny White’s looking for the best service as you may not get it. Be mindful of added gratuity.

Our first day in New Orleans, it was cold and dreary. We were walking up Bourbon Street looking for a reasonably priced restaurant for lunch. We found it very interesting that a number of restaurants had people outside trying to convince people to come in and opt for them over other locations. We chose to try the Johnny White’s Pub & Grill — You walk up a narrow winding flight of stairs. When you reach the top, there is a bar area with a number of tables. It was cold inside, but I suppose that would really be no different anywhere. I ordered and oyster po-boy and a cup of seafood gumbo. Both were very good. My wife ordered a 50 – 50 burger — a mix of ground beef and hot Italian sausage. That was great. Service was just okay, but the food made up for it.
