This is such a fun spot! No frills, kinda divey in the best way possible. Everyone is there just to have fun and let their hair down. one of the bands that plays there frequently called«In ya ear» is a lot of fun and is quite talented. Didn’t have any drinks so I can’t comment on quality or prices.

Just saw the bartender at the 2nd story bar tip HERSELF off of my drink. Let’s talk about un-southern hospitality.

In my most recent visit to New Orleans I’ve made a lot of memories at Funky 544! On our first night on Bourbon Street I had my fishbowl as a poison of choice. When we came in here DJ was blasting current and throwback hip hop music, wasn’t too crowded but it had a good crowd. The MC had the microphone and I was having too much fun that I took the mic from him and started singing and dancing to Chris Brown! We did have a great time even though we were here for a short time because we were bar hopping. Definitely give this place a try if you want to hear the DJ playing, you’ll have a great time here.

If you like to get test tubes forcefully shoved down your throat, look no further! Also, get your calculator apps out, the girl who gave us the shots charged us for 7 shots instead of 6 we actually had. If that isn’t appealing to you I’m sure there are other places on Bourbon to get your party on.

This place displays a sign stating 2 for 1. This is a lie it only applies to the balcony bar. When I asked for the manager, I was kept waiting for 10 minutes and no one showed up. This is ridiculous and money hungry BS! I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau for fraud.

If you want to dance, I mean non-stop. This is your place. Band was awesome, quite a show band. Haven’t had that much fun, in I don’t know when.

My wife and visited New Orleans for our first time and loved our week there. We were lucky to have arrived on the weekend of the French Quarter Festival and thoroughly loved all the free outdoor music venues. My wife and I love to dance to R&B/funk music and we found this place perfect for us. The band(BRW) had two soul singers with a band with about 7 different instruments(3 horns). They had a great, full sound that made it impossible for us not to dance. We stayed for 3 ½ hours. BTW we are in our 70’s so that’s no small feat. We did see girls with shot vials but they didn’t bother us.

This place is pretty cool. They have a balcony bar and had a live Dj downstairs with a big area to dance in. What got me that was really cheap were the 3 for 1 drinks. 6 beers for $ 18 dollars is a steal I think for bourbon street. Place wasn’t too busy during the day but would imagine gets pretty packed at night. Especially with those drink specials.

BEWARE! The shot girls steal from you. She came up to me and fed me 2 shots while we were dancing. Only then did she proceed to tell me it would be $ 8. She took my $ 10 bill and never returned with change. She disappeared and the bartender didn’t give me a refund. She claimed she didn’t know anything about what the shot girls do. I got in an argument with her and was thrown out.

There are a lot of bars on Bourbon St. that can give you the same things you can get here: live music, cheap drinks, aggressive shot girls, grimy everything. While I do love at least 50% of those things, I’m not a fan of this bar in particular. I’m pretty sure they can’t be blamed for the fact that my wife’s wallet was stolen out of her purse that was hanging on her shoulder(but that did happen inside their doors). However, they can be blamed that they wouldn’t give a visibly overserved girl water, instead demanding she buy a bottle of it. I’ll find my aggressive shot girls and grimy everything elsewhere.

Another spot on Bourbon I am close to being too old to go to but it is still fun for now. Place was quite full on a random Wednesday night. No band this evening just a DJ and a hype man to keep the party moving and they did a great job entertaining the crowd. Only 1 bartender working so she was overwhelmed but still did a good job of taking orders and making drinks as fast as possible. Lots of girls running around selling shots and jello needles but none of them were pushy or attempting to force anything on you. As there is no cover and a pretty good time to be had, visit for a minute while strolling Bourbon.

My friend and I entered early in the evening. We were interested in the band performing. We were ID’d at the door by the security fellow initially. Once inside, we had two of the shot girls force shots on us. They went to run my credit card and cross-referenced my identification(AZ license, which expires at age 65, Google it). Then, a man approached me and told me to get a better fake ID and leave. I calmly tried to explain Arizona licenses have an odd expiration system and I understand it may seem odd. At that point he threatened to attack me me multiple times. I asked him for his name or the name of his manager and he replied with another severe threat. I’m very surprised a tourism-heavy place in the French Quarter is not familiar with domestic identification.

Love this place. Live music and hey we’re playing all the best classic rock and 80s when I was there. Great time singing along, not too packed and a great crowd.

Well. The French Quarter is a circuit. You don’t just visited one bar. If you want to get down… really dance your ass off, then you should stop here. Even when it’s crowded there’s enough room to move. Every one is usually in a good state of mind. This was one of the first Bars I went to when i moved to Nola, and it’s really more of a nightclub. Urban music. Door staff isn’t pretentious. It’s not a meat party like some of the other spots. I vote it best place to get your groove on on Bourbon.

I came here on a Friday night with my cousin as we celebrated her 21st birthday. You can’t come to Bourbon street with expectations that anything would be clean and classy, this isn’t Vegas. With that said this place was awesome. I appreciate a place that appreciates my presence. The music was on point, the shot girls were convincing, and the people there were so ready to party! BONUS: This place is cheap! 2 mouthful jello shots and a tequila shot for $ 12? Can we even do that here in NY? The shot girls buy you shots too(a bit too many free ones). I left here feeling great my newly 21 year old cousin had a bit too much her damn self. Rolling in her shots that she managed to reverse out her body by the end of the night(if u understand what I mean).

Not a bad place for the older than 21 crowd. Good music and nice upstairs spot to chill out. Go out on the balcony have a drink and have a good time.

Normally I stay far away from Bourbon St. It’s just not my kind of scene. If you catch me there it’s probably because I’m with a newbie and for some odd reason they all feel like their trip to NOLA isn’t complete without having checked it out. So I tell my friend to do his research and pick the place he wants to check out. Funky 544 was the winner of the evening. We arrived somewhere around 9pm and grabbed the last table. There aren’t very many, leaving plenty of dancing room. I ordered my vodka cranberry at the bar, $ 12 for a Dixie sized cup, kinda pricey for Nola, but I am in one of the most touristy areas, so I wasn’t surprised. There weren’t any waitresses, just shot girls. This place is like most other places here; dark, kinda dirty and lacking in the frills department, thankfully, I’m good with that. They did have great music though. I’m going to look up the name of the band from last night because I would definitely see them again. They played Motown mainly and were fantastic. I was pleasantly surprised in my visit here. I would definitely recommend Funky 544 to anymore insisting on hanging out on Bourbon.

This place is really shady. I just wanted to go out for decent drinks and some dancing… instead we entered shady town… Be careful of the girls with the neon shot glass vials. They will shove it down your throat even when you tell them you don’t want it. Turn away and leave because those beee-o-tches will hunt you for your money like gold diggers.

This is my one stop shop on Bourbon for dancing. I was a Razoo girl but this place has changed my mind. The cover bands are amazing! I can dance until my little heart and feet are content. I can’t speak on the drinks because I stop at The Beach for 3for1 drinks before going in there. Try it, you will not be disappointed.
