My fiancé and I came to have lunch here this past Saturday and our overall experience was not so good. When we walked in, there was about 1 server and she was attending a table so after standing there for a good 10 minutes a manager came and seated us. Secondly, we were finally attended by a server whom took our drink order then our food order. Well… We started with the Thai spring rolls, they were pretty good. My fiancé ordered the crab cakes, now at $ 14.00(with no side) we expected some pretty decent crab cakes, umm well what she got was ridiculous! 2 small flat«crab cakes»! I ordered a simple CHEESE burger with fries and they brought out a PLAIN burger with NOCHEESE. seriously people c’mon?! I had to flag the manager down which took about 5 minutes or so and asked him to correct my damn order. After the dissatisfaction of our lunch we said oh what the heck let’s try dessert, maybe that’ll cheer us up. We ordered the cupcakes which consisted if 1 red velvet and 1 carrot cake cupcake. The carrot cake cupcake was overly spiced with ginger so we left that and the red velvet was just OK. Needles to say, this was a huge waste of money and an afternoon. This place sucks and we will never return again!

Time for an update! Glad to say that things have improved at this location. Prompt, friendly service and… well, I’m a huge fan of their Veggie Trio plate.

So a long time ago we had a Ruby Tuesday near where we live. I really enjoyed the salad bar and there was some sort of specialty burger that at the time only they had that my husband loved so we made ruby Tuesdays one of our few chain restaurant regular stops. Sadly that location closed and it has been years from the time we have been in the area of a ruby Tuesdays to go to another. So after a long day with the kiddo and her friends at sea world, we ventured out for what we wanted for dinner. Now this was an area of San Antonio I wasn’t familiar with so most of my normal go to food for local Mexican food was 30 mins away & I had been told to avoid the downtown or river walk because of some sort of festival and spring break. So between a tired 7 year old who only likes bean burritos & a tired hungry husband who didn’t want to stop at multiple places to make everyone happy, when we saw Ruby Tuesdays I said pull in there. It was not busy which was a plus, so we were seated promptly and service was good. I went with a salad bar because the taco selection wasn’t really what I had wanted & I wasn’t in the mood for pasta, burgers or chicken fried something. Sadly the salad bar was not what I had remembered it being seemed smaller than what the location we had was & they no longer had the burger that my husband wanted. Yet both my husband & daughter were happy with what they got & we splurged on getting two deserts which made up for the salad. If it was near where we live I’m sure we would go every now and then but as our luck would be not as often as we once had because they got rid of the item that drew my husband there. Anyway, at least we know we have a place in the area whenever we come back that my kiddo can get what she wants & the grown ups have various options to pick from.

I came here by recommendation of friends from the East Coast to try the salad bar and it was not bad at all; I had the Tropical Island Sparkler and I could drink it for hours, the Chicken Fresco was also fairly delicious. Our waiter was Jonathan, and he was beyond courteous, approachable and gave us a smile at every turn of the meal, always checking on us to see if we were satisfied; he made us feel comfortable and if it wasnt because it was late and near closing time I would have stayed for more drinks. He also was attentive to give recommendation of the area since we were not locals.

Went here about 2 weeks ago and had bad service. Waiter was a nice guy but seemed clueless. I got the salad bar, my 2 kids got kids meals, we had beers, all good there. Problem is that my wife’s burger took almost an hour to come out. After about 30 – 40 minutes we asked the waiter and he said the cool had forgotten but he would get it right out. Finally we had all finished eating and she still hadn’t gotten it so he offered her a free salad bar. thanks! Literally as she is finishing eating her free salad the burger shows up. The restraint is literally dead at this time, there is maybe 5 other tables sat so it isn’t from being too busy. To be fair to the waiter, he was nice and was trying but I saw him talk to a lady I am assuming was the manager but she didn’t seem too concerned and she never said a word. No discount, no I’m sorry, nothing, just a free salad bar and a $ 55 tab. I don’t expect anything free but a sorry goes a long way. In don’t mind laying $ 50+ dollars for any meal that is worth that, but this meal/visit was a $ 25 visit. Needless to say, we won’t be back to this location. Thanks for the free salad bar, it cost you a customer.

This always a great place to eat. Every meal we had has been great. The service is the same. The menu has a wide variety of selection. Its usually quiet. So it makes for a nice quiet evening out with my lady. Its our favorite place to eat. We will keep going back for atmosphere, service, and food.

This is a great place for you to have a nice quiet moment to yourself to get away from life or a romantic outing with a loved one. Johnathan is a great waiter. He is friendly. I tried the Cajun Jambalaya Pasta. I was on the fence about it until I tried it. Johnathan did a wonderful job of recommending such a great meal choice.

Oh Ruby — you are a fickle lady. My last visit here was the night before Father’s Day with my wife, son, and grandson. Nice and quiet compared to the crowds sure to be present on the actual day. The menu rundown was street tacos pollo for mamasita, shrimp and grits for me, ribs and chicken strips for my son. And for my grandson, the ubiquitous chicken tenders/fries combo. Mama left most of her tacos on the plate, always a bad sign. I copped some of the tortilla and it tasted pretty good. But she never said much about the meal, the kiss of death to those that know her. My son couldn’t love the ribs more. Tender and fall off the bone good was his comment several times. Grandson reported the chicken strips as «Good, Papa». He’s more talkative about dessert. Shrimp and grits were so-so. Shrimp excellent, andouille sausage a little over the top and distracted from the dish. But the grits were an F-Minus. Advertised as a seven cheese blend, but they were bland and sticky. Think instant oatmeal left on the counter after a few stirs. Using the remoulade and thoroughly mixing it in helped with consistency and improved the taste somewhat. Probably my fault, S&G is a dish to be handled by chefs, not summer hires. Speaking of summer hires; I hate to make it sound like I’m dissing all young wait staff. Most of them are just trying to make a buck or two over summer vacation and are gracious, courteous, and work hard for the money. Unfortunately, we hit the wrong shift that night. When we first walked in, I could hear a bunch of carrying on and laughing and I assumed it was from the bar. Sadly no. It was the wait staff LTAO with the kitchen staff through the serving window. Not frowning on having a good time, but bad news when the staff seems to be having more fun than the customers seemingly excluded from their attention. And attentiveness was very evident by our table service. It was very rushed and while not completely unfriendly, I got the impression she wanted to go back to the fun at the window in case she missed a group selfie or two. Got our drink orders and rushed to make a decision on the entrée. 2 or 3 bites of salad and here came the entrée, minus a side order. We spoke fast each time before she could get out of earshot. Before finishing the meal, here came the check much to the dismay of my grandson who hadn’t forgotten about dessert. A few quick movements later and back with the dessert and an updated check. Now this part, I counted: she came back three times to see if we were ready to cash out. At this point, my wife,(who waited tables for a couple of years and is the font of empathy) started getting angry at the way she was pushing us on out the door. Our total dining experience probably lasted 45 minutes, but felt more like 25, the time it takes to finish a typical fast food meal. Consistency seems to be the weak suit for the restaurant that invites you to «Relax and experience a delicious meal with family and friends». Sorry Ruby Tuesday, you’re starting to remind of Frantic Fridays.

Great fresh food and service. I dont think it’s fair to base the whole Ruby Tuesdays on a single 1-star review. I’ve got to stand up for them. We have been eating here for more than 3 years(Culebra &1604) great fresh food and service always!

One of my favorite chain restaurants. For some reason, this place is usually not very busy. We have never had to wait on a table. They also have happy hours in the evening from 9-close, which is great for drinks and apps. Highly recommend the chicken Bella. Usually not a big fan of healthier alternatives, but this entrée is delicious. I’m also a very surprised fan of the spaghetti squash.

I know this is a chain restaurant but we had never been here before so we decided to try it out. We went during happy hour and we were seated at a small table in the bar, even though we did not request to be seated in the bar. Our waitress was working both the bar and the tables so she did not pay much attention to us throughout our meal. We started out with some Southwestern Spring Rolls as an appetizer. It took a very long time for us to get the appetizer and when it finally came, it was a disappointment. They had a horrible aftertaste. I ordered the filet and lobster tail for my entrée and my husband ordered the ribs and fried shrimp. It was another very long wait before we finally got our main entrees. They appeared to have been sitting in the warmer for a while. My lobster tail was like rubber and I could not even get my fork to tear it because it was so tough. Once our waitress decided to come check on us, I sent my lobster tail back. The filet, however, was cooked perfectly(medium rare) and had a great flavor. The grilled zucchini was also very good. My husband said his ribs were okay but the fried shrimp was overcooked and had the same bad aftertaste that the appetizer had, which lead us to believe it must be the oil they use. I had almost finished my meal when the waitress brought over the replacement lobster tail. I used my fork to see if it was tough and realized it was almost raw. I left it on the plate and we waited a very long time before she came back over to the table. I advised her this lobster tail was raw. She said she would get the Manager. The manager did not come over right away. As a matter of fact, we were done with our dinner and waiting for our check when he finally came over. He said he looked at the Lobster Tail and it was very raw. He apologized and asked if he could get me something else. I explained that we were done with dinner and did not care for anything else. He did not charge me for my entrée. Even though the filet and ribs were good, we will not be going back as our overall experience was not good at all.

This was my first time here. I love food and a good fish taco is one of my weaknesses. La Tuna? Yes, please! I was on an afternoon date with my girlfriend and didn’t want anything to heavy. The fish tacos were new so I tried them. They were labeled«spicy» fish tacos. Me, as a lover of all things hot, knew this wasn’t going to be true. What I received was a flour tortilla, with a decent amount of fish, seemed like chunks of cod, with a light dusting of salt, pepper, blacken seasoning and maybe some cayenne. It did not meet up to the spicy moniker in my eyes. The bed of slaw underneath was fresh and on the sweet side. The drawback, it was a very«wet» slaw. That meant every time I took a bite of my taco, juice ran out everywhere. It was a messier than expected experience. The salad bad was supposed to be the big draw, per our server. It was a decent but sparse selection of your basic greens, veggies, and dressings. Nothing out of the ordinary. Now, biscuits. Am I a connoisseur of biscuits, cornbread, and rolls? No, but I think I know what tastes good. After hearing the word biscuits being thrown around at every table, I had to try some. After the first burnt batch that didn’t make it out of the kitchen, we received a new warm batch out of the oven. They seemed to be a mix of sweet cornbread and cheddar herb biscuits. They were light and had a good crunch to them. My girlfriend suggested they may have accidentally used sugar instead of salt in this batch. They were a tad overly sweet, so her observation was probably correct. In the end we both left content, decent food at a decent price. No big qualms about service or bad food. Would I go back, yes.

The first time I went here it was for their unlimited soup and salad lunch combo. The soup was great and so were the biscuits but the salad was NOT the salad bar but limp, day old leftovers brought from the kitchen. Terrible and hence, my poor review. This time, we had a regular meal and my wife had the salad bar and loved it. The spaghetti squash however, was very bland. The zucchini on the other hand was delicious although I did add a bit of salt and pepper. I ate the chophouse bacon cheddar burger and it was decent but formulaic. It is what I expected from a chain restaurant burger. That being said, it was still tasty. I did however like the rings very much. They are obviously not hand battered but still tasty nonetheless. The staff was efficient and courteous and the restaurant clean. I’ll have to give them another try and see if they can impress me a little more.

I guess I would never have considered eating at a Ruby Tuesdays before… I’m not a food snob… but I don’t really care too much for chain restaurants. I guess I was too spoiled from living on the westcoast… from Napa, Los Angeles and Seattle. Trying to drop a few pounds before my next APFT, I’m on this salad kick. So, I’ve been trying out tons of different salad places. Especially the salad buffets. I’m a Jason’s Deli fan(cus they have beets there), but I saw a commercial that advertised the salad bar. You know… it’s not such a bad place. Décor: sort of like a board meeting room type, with dark wood… I prefer sitting in booths, and the seats weren’t too cushiony, but it wasn’t uncomfortable. Salad Bar: Nothing extraordinary, but everything did seem pretty fresh. I loved that they had 4 different types of leafy greens for the base of the salad. Basic salad bar, but the kicker was that they had shelled endamame there. I loved that! My friend actually thought they were lima beans, but I quickly corrected her. They also had some pasta salad and potato salad, but that would defeat the purpose of my salad diet. The only draw back was that the protein item was what I’m assuming is ham, but it was cubed processed meat that had a sick pink hue and tasted oddly of baloney. But they had real bacon bits and 5 or so different dressings. So… I didn’t exactly stick to the diet. The turkey sliders were pretty good, i love the buns and it came with a side of french fries. Nothing spectacular. But the grilled zucchinis(extra veggie side) was excellent. Ok… so I cheated… the coconut shrimp was sweet and coconutty… but the sauce was a strange lemon cream vinegarette that i could do without. I’d go back… unlimited salad bar… something so easy to offer the patrons, sad that not a lot of places do that. But then, those places that do sometimes don’t make the effort to keep it fresh. In this case, it was not a «goodbye…Ruby Tuesday»

Holy Crap! If the occupy wall streeters are looking for something to do in between their weekly showers and collecting government checks, perhaps they can camp outside of Ruby Tuesdays in anticipation of the National chains imminent closings. It’s as if someone slapped a sweater vest and sports coat on McDonald’s and took her out on the town. If this is a rational reason to serve terrible food while charging extra for it, then I certainly get the concept. You know, in the 1980’s, I was in charge of loading up the food bar at Peoples Restaurant with boxed and bagged food while unsuspecting morons came in to marvel at the bounty under glass. This reminds me of those days but without the illegal drinking, sexual stamina and endless possibilities. I came here because the BJ’s was packed on a Friday night and the bar here was not. I now understand why.

I’ve been to this place twice since it’s opened, and haven’t been disappointed yet. I had ribs the first time, and a ribeye steak the second time. Both were perfect. The cauliflower mash could use a makeover, but everything else was great. The place is very clean, and the staff is very, very pleasant and efficient.
