We tried LongHorn for the first time a few weeks ago and were presently surprised by how good the food was. The steaks were amazingly good, the service was great, and our dinner bill for 2 was only $ 50. I highly recommend this restaurant … and the Outlaw Ribeye!

Showed up before 4pm to avoid the dinner crowd. I didn’t see too many cars compared to nearby restaurants but figured the crowd would show up eventually. My family was seated promptly but waited approx 5 minutes for the waitress. While seated I noticed ice chips on the floor, and greasy menus. We ordered an appetizer but didn’t get plates. Fast forward. Food was good, waitress was not attentive at all. She didn’t seem overwhelmed, just under enthused. Last time

After being seated and waiting for 15 minutes without even being offered water, we decided to leave. Don’t get me wrong, we are Longhorn regulars and understand the staff is busy. However, the table right next to us got to put their drink orders, bread brought to them, and food order during the entire 15 minutes we were sitting there. I stop by the host’s podium and calmly explained our experience. Although, he did apologize, they did not offer to rectify their service or asked us to stay. Starving and irritated we wobbled next door to 54th street. Within 3 minutes of us being seated our waiter came to take our drink orders. I’m always willing to take good customer service over good food, but in this case I don’t feel I had to compromise. Sorry Longhorn, 54th Street is our new go-to restaurant.

Went to the Longhorn steakhouse on 1604 and Culebra. For my birthday. It was almost a comedy of errors. After ordering steaks with Light seasoning and waiting 35 minutes to get them, or steaks came out with EXTRA seasoning. We sent them back. When they brought them back out, my baked potato was rotten. It had a big black mass in the middle of it. Then the waiter brought my husband sweet tea instead of unsweetened. It seems every time we go to this location we leave dissatisfied. You’d think that they would, at the least, comp the tea. We were there for an hour and a half from the Time we were seated. It would have been nice to get a genuine apology. I think we will stick to other locations.

Outlaw Ribeye, medium rare, seasoned perfectly — delicious. Our server Brie was fantastic. Victor…Victor…Victor!!! The BEST steak in San Antonio!!! I could name other extremely expensive restaurants that charge 3X what you’ll pay here, but fall short in flavor and prep, but I won’t. It really does matter WHO is in the kitchen! Because I LOVE a perfect ribeye, where Victor is cooking… I’m eating!!!

So I decided to give this place a second shot after my last visit…80 dollars spent and the steaks weren’t seasoned so bland, and my ribs… well you could tell they’re cooked in the oven and then bbq sauce slab bed on em because there was no flavor… so I’m like what the heck I have a gift card at least I’m not paying for it this time… well would’ve been nice to actually eat, was going to order to go, hostess said order at the bar… well I sat there for awhile no bartender… waited. looked back at the 2 hostess, one was sitting behind the podium on the floor and on her phone and the other talking to her… so I figure. ya know what it’s not worth it when the customer service is bad. so thanks longhorn for your wonderful service and crap steaks. should’ve known better than that. I’ll stick to saltgrass and texas roadhouse.

I love Prime Rib and they do it right. The Captain’s mule was also to die for. Went down smooth and paired well with the Prime Rib.

Came here for dinner with my husband and two teenage children. The wait wasn’t bad although, much longer than they quoted. The server was nice. She took our drink order and brought our drinks fairly quickly. She took our other order and asked us to pick sides AND and soup and salad. We complied. Our salad, soup, and other food, came at the same time. The mashed potatoes were cold as the butter on top was still cold. My husbands prime rib was absolutely disgusting. It tasted rancid. When we brought our issues to the server she offered no recourse nor apology. Then the check came and we were charged for the soups, salads and sides. I told our server that I would’ve like me for her to have told us that they weren’t included. Especially since they came out with the meal and she asked us to pick them as if they were included. Of course we never saw manager. But she did remove the sides, salads and soups from the bill. Won’t be back.

The service was very slow. The food was just ok. I ordered a steak and baked potato, it was warm almost cold. If they had wi-fi it was horrible too. Will never go back to this place.

My mom loves coming here because of the sweet potatoes. She thinks they’re awesome. The fact that they serve Coke products doesn’t hurt. She loves Coke.

Love this place. I know it is a chain but they hold their own. I had the sirloin medium rare and it was all good. Good wine sides were excellent. Better than Outback and Salt grass. Good variety of cuts. I will be back!

We arrived around 8:30PM on a Sunday night for a late dinner. The place had about 10 people in it. The gal took my name, handed me a buzzer, and said it would be 5 – 10 minutes to get a table ready. I look over her shoulder into the main dining area and see, maybe 5 tables and booths occupied… After the full 10 minutes, the buzzer buzzes, we stand, and are escorted to a booth — a booth, mind you, that was fully ready 10 minutes ago. After being seated, we’re told our server would be with us shortly. Another 10 minutes pass and I believe it was the manager that finally came around and said he’d get us some waters. A few minutes later we get our water but the gal just drops them off and says that the server will be around in a moment. We can see staff standing around chatting with one another, moving slowly, and really not in a hurry to do anything this late in their shift. In fact, the table next to our booth was disgusting and had not been cleaned since we arrived. The table was a mess and there was food and paper on the floor surrounding it. The ambience was… Finally, 25 minutes after arriving, our drink order was taken. Another 10 minutes passed before we got our drinks and placed our orders. The appetizer took so long to come out that our meals arrived literally a few minutes after the app was served. So, do we eat the app while it’s hot or eat our food while it’s hot and let the app get cold. First world problem, I guess. It was at this time that the staff got around to clearing the table next to our booth — light dining entertainment I guess. Anyway, the food was, as a 2-star rating indicates, just«Meh.» The service was terrible. I mean, to have people wait 10 minutes for a table when the restaurant is virtually empty is nuts. This is the first time we’ve been to Longhorn in a couple of years and the reason we went was it’s proximity to our home and the special we heard about. Unfortunately, we will not be in a hurry to return…

Over the course of the last 10 years I have been to many Longhorn Steakhouse restaurants this one included. I have always enjoyed the experience and the food. When the chance to go today came up I was excited. We arrived at 4:40pm with a total of three of us. We walked in and were standing at the hostess stand while two hostesses discussed the comings and goings of the day. Once they finally noticed us and confirmed our party of three it took them several minutes to figure out where to seat us in a relatively empty restaurant. Meanwhile a manager was talking with a lady who was attempting to set up a 10 person reservation immediately. That was more important to the hostesses than we were as she kept stopping to watch and listen to the other conversation. Finally she told us we needed to be seated in the bar because the large party was going to be seated in the main dining room and there would not be enough room.(I should note that there were two tables occupied in the bar and two in the main dining room. Even with a party of 10 we would have not been out of room. Needless to say we agreed to the bar and just as we were getting ready to walk back the manager told the hostess that she needed to put the two 5 top tall tables in the bar together for the large party. So we were seated next to the large party anyway. Once seated we were the third table in the bar as the large party had not arrived yet. It took nearly 5 minutes before we were even noticed by the bartender who was serving the bar area. Once he noticed us it was several more minutes before we were offered drinks and then even longer before they arrived. After sipping through our first glasses he finally arrived to take out order. 15 minutes after that we received our bread with a small smear of hard butter in the butter tin. It was so hard we could not spread it and there was not enough to go on three slices let alone the whole amount of bread he brought out. No plates were brought out so we ended up eating over the wooden cutting board the bread is brought out on. After finishing the bread we sat for another 15 minutes until we finally received our salads which were typical of Longhorn and just about any other restaurant. No issues with that. Salads done we sat for 30 minutes before our Entrees were finally brought out. I got the new Hickory Salt New York Strip(14 oz), one other got the same thing but in the 10 oz portion, and the third member of the party got the 14 oz New York strip(not the new Hickory Salt one). The new ones came with roasted corn which was delightful. The steaks, on the other hand were not great. They were cooked relatively well but the flavor was off. That Hickory Salt was extremely salty and had a strong fake Hickory flavor. It was in the form of a butter sauce on the top of the steak. It was so strong that I took the butter sauce off the rest of the steak which helped a bit but then the steak had absolutely no flavor. I do not believe they had seasoned the steak. Instead they must have just grilled it and then smothered it in that sauce. It was not great. In fact I think it was one of the worst dishes I have had from Longhorn. The party that ordered the plain New York strip said it was tasty as expected. There was a little bit more connective tissue than typical of that cut of meat but otherwise not bad. The sides that came with that order were broccoli and mashed potatoes and those were good. Glasses were filled one the whole meal which lasted 1 hour and 45 minutes with most of that being waiting with no drinks or food items. All that to say, I was extremely disappointed with the service and the food quality of the new menu items. I hope things get better because I will be hard pressed to want to go back… at least to this location. OH! And to add to all that… a GM or something came up to the bar and made the bar tender count his drawer on the top of the bar with him. Not only did that seem foolish and unprofessional, it took away from the bar tender serving his three tables.

Talk about redemption! The last time I decided to dine at Longhorn Steakhouse the experience was a disaster. We waited nearly an hour for food/not to mention the 50minute wait for a table after being promised the wait would only be 12 minutes– tops. Management tried to make a mends but I wasn’t in the receiving mood. So here I am back again at the same location but during a different time slot, lunch time. I decided to dine at the bar and I was fortunate to arrive 15 minutes early before the lunch crowd began to filter in. The waitress was fantastic as she somehow noticed I was next to be served in front of an older fellow who sat after me. I don’t know how she knew that gentlemen arrived after me but it felt good to know she somehow knew and attended to me first. Not a big deal but definitely noteworthy. I ordered a half rack of ribs w/loaded back potatoes and house sales with blue cheese dressing and a strawberry lemonade. The order came out in good time and it was hot and ready. My ribs looked very small and there wasn’t much meat. I brought it my waitress’ attention and she asked if I wanted a replacement. I told her«no, don’t sweat it» and I continued eating. After I finished my baked potato and began wiping my mouth with the table cloth, here comes my waitress with a replacement half rack of ribs that was bigger than my originally plated half rack. Wow! I didn’t expect her to go above and beyond for me and nor did I ask her to do so. Great experience today at Longhorn who did a great job redeeming themselves from my previous experience!

The service is nothing to brag about, The grilled chicken tortilla soup could have used alot more spices. It took them forever to bring out our cold food. Personally I was not pleased and will not be here again.

Only been to this location once but had an excellent experience. Had relatives in town and had a bad experience at 54th Street(next door — see other reviews) so we walked over here and we’re seated right away. Service was excellent, food was good, place was spotless, what more can you ask for?

Table was waited by Peter R. Service was terrific and he did push us to leave even though we stayed for a quite a while through the dinner rush hour. He deserved his extra $ 10 tip for doing that. Thanks!!! Steak is always good here. No complaints there. Had the butterscotch praline pudding which was seasonal and it was heavenly! YUM!!!

Longhorn is a chain, owned by the same parent company that also runs Red Lobster and Olive Garden. But this is the restaurant where they finally get it right. The result is a considerably calmer, quieter and basically more«grown-up» experience than you get with the other brands. I’ve been to a few Longhorn locations in town, and this one is my favorite. The food is consistently good, and the service is friendly, competent and unobtrusive. Try the bone-in ribeye, prime rib or grilled salmon. The steakhouse mac & cheese is also a must. For lunch, check out the shaved prime rib sandwich – it’s the best Philly cheese steak you’ve ever had. This location gets busy on Friday and Saturday evenings, so go early to avoid a long wait. And please leave the kids at home – they won’t like it anyway. Enjoy!
