The mint julep was excellent! Iconic Southern charm with a lovely balcony and friendly staff.

Food was delicious, service was great, but the serving size is very small for the price. I ordered the shrimp creole for $ 18, it was about one cup serving size on a very shallow plate and came with one thin slice of bread. Similarly, my friend ordered the crawfish Mac and cheese for $ 18 and was not filling. We’ve dined at several other similar restaurants in the area that gave us more bang for our buck.

I was in New Orleans for a Christmas holiday with my mom. We were having trouble finding a place open for Christmas dinner. We ended up reserving at Cornet because their reviews were pretty good and they were one of the few places that were open, not too expensive, and still had availability for Christmas. We arrived and were seated upstairs on the balcony. The service was very slow in the beginning — I felt like we were sitting a while before drink orders were taken and before food orders were taken. However, the food came out relatively quickly once orders were taken. We ordered calamari to start. It was very good and a bit different than other calamari I’ve had. It was tossed with an olive salad, which complemented the calamari well. I ordered the crawfish mac and cheese. The cheese sauce had a good flavor and the crawfish was cooked nicely. I also had cheesecake for dessert and it was delicious! It had very good people-watching to get a good Bourbon Street experience. It was nice not having to go topless and/or be belligerently drunk, but witness all of the New Orleans crowd regardless. The service was average, food was pretty good, and atmosphere was very New Orleans. Overall, a good choice for a meal on Bourbon Street.

We stood at the podium at the door waiting for ages to be seated, other people seated themselves and we were called back by the host who suddenly appeared. We were seated, he disappeared to get a high chair, didn’t reappear, and our server took forever to come to us. Ordered the hot tots which were tasty but a little steep at $ 10!!! I had the jambalaya which my almost 2 year old and I absolutely demolished it was delicious. Hubby had catfish po boy, FIL had shrimp po boy and the toddler ate some of everything. Food was hot, delicious and service by the server was slow but the food came out fast. They forgot my FILs beer, so comped it for him. Only 1 restroom per gender and I didn’t notice a changing table.

I had a wonderful experience at Cornet during the elite Unilocal Christmas party. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly and always there when I needed something. I will be coming back for a lunch or dinner visit. Thank you for your outstanding service and divine creole cuisine.

I’m a little mixed about this place(2.5 stars). Nice tourist spot. not too loud & had a lovely balcony to people watch the Friday night I was there. The menu had a decent variety but it seemed overpriced. but we stayed anyway. Maybe they’ll have huge portions? NOPE!!! Nuh-uh brother! Tiny thing if semi-flavored jambalaya for nearly $ 20. Ridiculous. Pfft I’d pass on this place… but if the prices were lower, it wouldn’t have been so bad. Service was a bit gimmicky. I mean, the on/off NOLA(sometimes Texan) accents were entertaining but was not necessary. But I guess you have to give the people what they want. Meh Tourist trap… stop by for drinks, not food. You’ll find better stuff out there

We sat on the balcony and had the perfect view of Bourbon Street and all of the people watching you could handle. Had a nice cold beer to start. We ordered the Jubilee shrimp which were delicious. I also had my last bowl of gumbo since we were leaving in a few hours. This is place has a great location, great service, and good food at an affordable price.

It was great being able to make reservations on a Friday night(via OpenTable). Overall the service was good and the food is good. At first, the idea of sitting on the balcony seemed great but when you have a large group, sit inside, especially on a hot day. It’s air conditioned inside. Part of the group had their back to the street and if one had to go to the restroom, all on that side had to get up. NOT the restaurant’s fault. I asked to sit here. The server seemed a little confused when we asked her to split the check but she figured it all out. I say try this place at least once. Enjoy the view below.

We had appetizers and drinks here on the upstairs deck. So fun watching all the action from up high. The service was great! Very friendly staff. Stated with Shrimp with cheese jalapeño grits, they were so good we ordered another. Then had the Calamari, lightly breaded and fried with a garlic sauce drizzle. Very good but you don’t get enough is all. Also tried the beef pies, they were ok, ground beef inside with a bit of spice. Finished with Pecan pie and ice cream of course. It was yummy too. All dinners that came out of kitchen looked really good and everyone was smiling and looked happy about their meals. We would definitely go back. Try the local drink Sazarc, a slight licorice tone, slight sweetness shaken over ice. A nice sippin drink to watch the crowds!

Don’t say you heard it from me folks, but BYOB… That’s right boys and girls: Bring Your Own Beads. This place has a dinner show too if you sit on the 2nd floor balcony and bring some beads. Food is good, not great. Good selection of Cajun style Po boys and other southern cuisine. I do recommend the Tots appetizer.

Sit up on the 2nd floor balcony for some of the best people watching on Bourbon Street! It made the visit worth while… The service was good enough; cocktails and beer cold and strong; the food was meh at best. My corn and crab chowder tasted like it was out of a can and had no actual crab in it; just a seafood flavor like seafood stock, maybe. $ 9 for corn soup that doesn’t even taste good? I sent it back, they removed it from the bill without question. The crab cakes were underwhelming and tasted more like egg than crab. The red beans and rice were pretty good and on par with others we’d had in town. The chicken sandwich with the fried green tomato on top… again, meh. I wouldn’t return to eat. To people watch and have a drink? Maybe.

Service is laughably bad, but I assume it’s new and working through the kinks. Tables are slow to get cleaned for waiting patrons, bartender has to go downstairs to grab draft beer orders, and we waited for every part of the meal. Gumbo had a good kick, and my favorite part of the meal was the corn side which was tangy with a hint of sweetness. Loved the balcony seating for people watching on Borbon. It’s a nice reprieve from the debauchery, just don’t come in a rush. Let the good times roll as they say!

This was one place that we kept on coming back for drinks. The bloody Mary’s at this place was so delicious. Vodka is flavored with garlic, pearl onions and green olives. The Mix had a kick to it too, then a hint or Tabasco, old bag seasoning and a splash of Worcestershire sauce. We only had snacks here and both the tater tots and green tomatoes were crispy and tasty. The pimps cup has the right balance of cucumber and alcohol so you can drink them without knocking what actually hit you. Definitely a place I would visit again.

I stopped in here to order a cold one only, since it was a typical hot & humid NOLA morning. Krazy Korner next door wasn’t open at the time, so I arrived at Cornet on a whim. While I was given a menu, I noticed that most of the entrees ranged from $ 14 – 16 to start with. Other choices went into the $ 20s, which is reasonably priced when you consider that prices climb higher at restaurant venues closer to Canal Street, as well as on certain spots on Royal Street. But hey, this is the French Quarter. All of the food is going to be good anywhere you go. I tried a local brew of something in a serving sized called«Half Assed Beer», which is all that I needed. The higher size up is called a «Full Assed», or «Big Assed Beer» or something like that. For $ 6.50, the half size met my expectations. Both afternoon bartenders were prompt in their service, and you didn’t have to spend a minimum of $ 10 if you were using plastic(unlike Krazy Korner). Also, there isn’t a $ 1 surcharge if you use plastic as well. The only distinguishing features that I noticed was that there was a gold cornet hanging from the top of the entrance into the other half of the venue. The venue itself is a restaurant bar, yet could easily be mistaken for a dive bar while walking on Bourbon Street. Certainly worth trying out.

I had the chance to dine at Cornet recently and all I can say is — WOW! Everything about my experience at Cornet was impeccable. Service: Despite the fact I was with a group of about 10 – 12 people, our server(chill dude) accommodated the large group without any problems — never missed a water refill, able to split the check with ease, got everyone’s order correct, friendly but not intrusive, etc, etc, etc… Food: Listen, I know everyone’s taste buds are a little different, and we all have different tastes for different foods, but I can’t imagine anyone going to Cornet and their taste buds not scream out that this is some damn good food! I ordered the crab cakes — they were served with huge, meaty, tender, chunks of crab meat — simply delectable! I also had the opportunity to sample a few different appetizers. The Oyster Shooter — it comes with four oysters in a shot glass in some sort of Bloody Mary infused concoction. I thought it was good, I’m definitely happy I tired it, just to satisfy my curiosity if nothing else. Also tried the Cajun Calamari, which was excellent and a big hit at the table. Ambiance: I guess because we were with so many people, we were sat upstairs which I was perfectly fine with. They also have a nice balcony other looking Bourbon St! From what I saw of the downstairs it looked quaint, dark, chill and a wanted respite from the chaos of Bourbon St that it was. This is an easy 5-STAR rating of rme, next time you’re in the French Quarter give it a try, I think you’ll agree!
