Excellent restaurant, bon endroit pour goûter des spécialités! Rien à dire sur le service, le serveur a pris le temps de nous expliquer les différents plats et par la suite nous a donné des conseils sur le endroits à visiter dans la région!

Very fresh and innovative food, with remarkable service, great atmosphere and reasonable pricing. Highly recommended. The menu rotates, so no point in going at length about individual dishes, but everything we had was memorable; right down to the cocktails. Sonet, our server, was so exceptional that if my restaurant was in Louisiana, I’d throw a blank check to steal her. Wonderful experience

I like the space, though I’ve always sat in the large bar area which also has about 4 – 5 high tops. Cocktails are some of the best in town and the food is consistently good including a lot of New Orleans staples which makes sense with the French Quarter location. The combination plate with gumbo, crawfish pie, red beans, and jambalaya was a hit with my out-of-town friend who wanted to get some«local» food before leaving town. My roast beef poboy was quite good and the service was friendly and quite good. For most visitors to New Orleans — or even many locals — Kingfish will likely give you what you want. The bar is almost always busy as the word has gotten out about the quality of their cocktails and the crowd is slightly on the older side(let’s call it a more refined crowd, not generally a 22-year-old hangout). Kingfish is definitely worth a visit.

Loved this place. Excellent food and good(not great) cocktails. To clarify, in any other city I would have called these cocktails great, but in New Orleans the standard is just higher. The staff were fantastic. Everyone I spoke with was very friendly. This was one of the few places that earned a return visit during my trip. And those collared greens are so good you’ll want to slap somebody’s mama.

Our cocktails were very good. I had a problem with the quality of one of the wines I ordered too and they swapped it out for me. I got the alligator gumbo, which was really good. I also got the whole bone in fish. It was so good. Unlike many fish dishes I have out. It was so moist, and something about the seasonings– anyway I’d recommend it. We also got the king cake with fois gras for dessert. Talk about decadent. It was one of a kind. The chocolate peanut butter mouse was also excellent. The service here was very good — attentive but unobtrusive.

Last Friday night, I went on a double date(we are all from Boston) here after having a few drinks on Bourbon Street. This spot was extremely easy to get to on foot, and we decided on this place based on local Unilocal reviews. We made a reservation on OpenTable about an hour beforehand. This was not difficult. The ambiance was great — a little on the fancier side for NOLA, but not so fancy as to be uncomfortable. Our waitress, Kayla Demma, promptly visited our table to introduce herself and pour us water. We chatted with her about the menu, what was popular and what she would recommend. We decided to start with the Pork and Pickle board while she brought out a tasting of a Pinot Noir she recommended(Loring). Her wine recommendation was spot on, so we ordered a bottle for the table. It was light, dry and not sweet, which paired nicely with all of the dishes we ordered. The two gentlemen in our double date ordered the Boucherie Mix, while ordered the duck breast and my girlfriend ordered the speckled trout. While waiting for our dishes to come out, Kimberly Neal visited our table with a free appetizer(the pork rind nachos) and the pickle board. There was a slight mix up(which we didn’t even notice) that prompted her to treat us. The nachos were phenomenal, and the pickle board was gone within minutes. Not too far behind came our dinners. Needless to say, the food was cooked to perfection, seasoned just right, and well worth the price tag. The guys couldn’t stop talking about their meal for the entirety of the weekend. The service here was equally as wonderful as the food, and truly made the experience positive for all of us. Kayla and Kim made sure we were taken care of all night, popping in to see how things were every time they passed our table. Every question we had about what we were eating and how it was made, they both described perfectly for us. Being from out of town, we also were looking for good recommendations of spots that were off the beaten path and worth visiting. Many of their recommendations we followed through with and had a blast because of it. We would recommend this place to anyone from out of town that is looking for a slightly upscale, but not absurdly expensive spot, to dine and drink at. The service and food was phenomenal. Keep up the great work!

4.5 stars! Kingfish was the first bar we stopped at for our cocktail brawl through French Quarter of New Orleans. Upon entering the establishment I was astounded by how aesthetically beautiful the interior was. We sat at the bar and ordered fried boudin balls with cane syrup mustard — AMAZING. These were the best fried boudin balls I’ve had the pleasure of tasting on my entire NOLA trip — bumpily crispy golden brown outer layer and flavorful juicy interior. I swear I could’ve eaten 10 of them, but unfortunately made the mistake of saving my stomach for other foods for later that night that turned out to be less amazing in comparison. HAPPYHOUR — between 3:30 — 6:00PM ½ off all brews & wines by the glass I tried the«Canebrake» brew(beer) and it was fantastic. I love good beers and this one hit the spot. Service was ONPOINT. The bartender was easy going, chill, funny and friendly. He talked to us casually and gave us some great pointers on our next stops. Ambiance was also a biggest favorite. I loved the decorations — brick walls, metal style open light bulbs, flat screen TV above bar, and beautiful countertops. I prefer this type of feel than the«so dark I can’t see anything» bars. Needless to say, I will most definitely be back the next time I’m in New Orleans. Highly recommended!!!

I was on a mission during my week in New Orleans to try as many different gumbos as possible, but I never thought I would try alligator and wild boar gumbo. Yum! I also had the blackened gulf shrimp with cornbread dressing… equally good. My one tip to KingFish is to make sure the food is hot. Mine was lukewarm.

Came in here for the famous Pimm’s cup, which was refreshing but I didn’t think worth the almost $ 15 price tag. Nice bar, but understaffed the night we went. Took forever to flag down a bartender.

4.5 stars The perfect first stop on a cocktail crawl through New Orleans and an even better place to duck out of the rain. Though the bar has a new feel — with it’s perfectly pressed, unaged tin to the newly pointed brick — it still has a classic air about it and definitely made us feel welcome. We sat at the bar and ordered a round — Justin with the Pimm’s Cup(Pimm’s, lemon, seasonal berries, cucumber and bubbles) and me with the French Pearl(Plymouth gin, lime, sugar, Herbsaint, lemongrass, mint and a rinse of absinthe). Both were refreshing and a great start to what would be six days of the best US vacation I’ve taken. Our snacks came out quickly and I ate way more than I should have considering we had reservations later and it was already 2pm. The fried boudin balls with cane syrup mustard were amazing. I could have eaten these all day and longed to order them at other places throughout the week but there were too many choices on every menu. The outside was perfectly fried and the mustard the perfect compliment. The pulled pork nachos(cracklin, pimento cheese, tomatoes, B&B pickles, crème fraîche and fresh jalapeño) were unlike anything I’ve had and warranted an amusing comment from Justin: «I’ve never had a carafe of cheese before.» Indeed the liquid pimento cheese is served on the side. Half is poured upon arrival at your table and the other half left for you — another nice touch considering the cracklin did get a bit soggy. After finishing up round one there were still bouts of downpour so we ordered a second. The Creole coffee(Cruzan Black Strap rum, demrarra syrup, coffee with fresh whipped cream) was my favorite of the four. The bartender whipped the cream by hand, producing a beautiful consistency and really giving her art that personal touch. I wish I could drink this every morning as breakfast, it was heaven. My second cocktail was the Bramble(Ford’s gin, lemon, crème de cassis, blackberries). Straight forward and well made. The bartender was a little bit sloppy behind the bar(like she may have been tipsy herself) but she still measured everything well and produced a great drink, plus she was very nice to talk with and we had some good laughs over that cocktail which«shall not be named» behind the bar(i.e., the Ramoz Gin Fizz). This is absolutely a place that should be on your list of cocktail bars to visit, whether you’re a local or a tourist and rates much higher than many of the supposedly«must see» spots.

While the food menu looked delicious, I only drank at the bar. Great prohibition era drinks, decent prices. Everything was made with love.

This review is for the bar only. I’m upset to see I haven’t reviewed them yet because it’s one of my favorite bars in New Orleans! They can make any cocktail you want — plus, they are good at it. Everything they make is delicious! They have great signature drinks, or you can ask them to whip you up something off the menu. You literally can’t go wrong here. The bartenders are all super friendly, too. My favorite drink on the menu is the Sheilavsit(she loves it) with Aperol, lemon, strawberries, and prosecco. It’s very refreshing and not too sweet… and BUBBLES!

Stopped by here for happy hour while visiting NOLA. We didn’t have any food, only some wine and an Aperol Spritz before exploring more restaurants and bars. The atmosphere was nice and the bartenders were attentive and friendly.

Great food and service. Spilled a beer and took care of my table quickly. Pork and pickles appetizer was phenomenal and the drink selection was diverse. Will go back on my next visit.

Couldn’t ask for a better first meal in NOLA. Upscale and refined, without being too stuffy. Great food, amazing service, and some very delicious hand-crafted cocktails. Try the boudin balls with the delicious cane syrup mustard as a starter! A taste of Lousiana that’s fried up to perfection. I had the smoked oyster spaghetti for my main. It was super heavy, essentially a carbonara with smoked, fried oysters, but totally worth it. Plus, it had soy beans and that makes it healthy, right? My dining companion had the duck and she was generous enough to share a few bits. It was perfectly cooked. Later, we stayed for some drinks, and I had an tasty bourbon drink with crème de cacao and benedictine. Yum!

This review is strictly about their Pimms Cup Every bar and restaurant has their own spin on a Pimms Cup in NOLA, but by far, none of them were comparable to the Pimms cup from Kings Fish in the quarter. It came with freshly rolled cucumber slices, raspberries, blackberries and strawberries. This was so refreshing after a long day walking out in the sun. We made sure to order another round to go and stopped by before our flight left because they were so delicious!

We had an exceptional dining experience here for my dad’s birthday. Our server was Chris who is the epitome of a perfect server. He is always close enough that you don’t have to wait for something as soon as you decide you want it, but he’s never so close to make you feel smothered. We also got new silver ware for each course which makes me very happy. My favorite drink was the blueberry something. Super sweet but refreshing at the same time. The Boudin balls and pulled pork nachos were perfect and super filling. We will def be back.

Great bar. The farmers market vegetables and the French Pearl cocktail were outstanding! I’d get those again and again. The Crab dish was pretty good. The staff recommended the shrimp and okra and it looked delicious but the shrimp were terrible. I was shocked because it was the first time I’d had bad shrimp in New Orleans. Maybe we got a bad batch. We traded them in for the Alligator Wings. These were pretty gamey and just a bit too bony for me. The sauce was meh.

I had been wanting to try Kingfish for some time, and a date suggested that we go there. Yay. It always works out, right? Everything on the lunch menu looked good, but after a brief discussion with our server, I settled on the Cedar Plank Gulf Fish. The fish of the day was speckled trout and it came with a small side salad. The date got the Chargrilled Rabbit. I wish I would’ve asked for a bite, but we weren’t really at that comfort level on this first date, so I didn’t. Lol. I also indulged in dessert and got the Pot de Crème. As I told our server, I can’t not get pot de crème when that is offered. It was delicious with just enough savoriness from the salted caramel. The service was great, except when the guy who brought out our food said to my date something to the effect of «You got an Asian? I want me one too» and proceeded to talk about how he «likes them all.» But such is life, I guess… I’ll be back for more delicious food.

A Treasure Chest of a Man works behind this bar. Ladies and Gentlemen, Chris McMillian is a New Orleans bartender and a co-founder of The Museum of the American Cocktail. I went with Royalty, so I got quite the inside scoop on family and local happenings of people and things that actually matter in life, not just a «Hey Bartender can I get a beer?» Do you know where you are lady sitting 2 seats down from us? UGH. We sipped and shared and loved and learned. Check out the bottles on the top shelf, hidden behind the other bottles on the top shelf. wink wink. This place is packed and the music is phenomenal You will be crammed in. The 3 of us shared 2 seats. Bars tops are always my choice for flavored affairs and easy access to finger tip needs. I quite Love NOLA. I go every few weeks. Popping in on a Saturday night is quite entertaining. But definitely the energy of the place was on fire. I feed off it. Everything on the menu is exceptional. If you are in a hurry you are in the wrong place. If you want to go with the flow and see where it takes you, hey, stop in.

I was really stuck between giving this place 2 and 3 stars, the restaurant itself was nice, and I enjoyed most of what I got, but the staff just killed it for me. We stopped by for happy hour, and were probably the second people in the door. The hostess just stood there and stared at us until I asked for a table for two, and then she just said«yeah anywhere» and turned around and walked off. I’m sorry. do what now? She then spent the rest of the time I was there alternating between flirting with a waiter and being rude to the patrons. get it together man. So we took a seat by the window, and the bartender called over and said to come up to the bar to order so to make things easy we just decided to move to the bar. The bartender was very knowledgeable about her cocktails, but so rude. She talked to us and every other patron like we were idiots for asking about the menu or more water. I mean the disdain was just dripping off of her. I’m not easily offended, but I was just completely put off for the rest of the time I was there. what is your deal ladies? Calm yourselves. Now the food and drink, the Pimms Cup was very good, I highly recommend it. It wasn’t as sweet as most but still had a strong yet light flavor. We also got the Sazerac recommended by the bartender that was insanely strong but still well crafted. And the food: I got the corn and crab bisque which was very tasty, the boyfriend got the rabbit gumbo which was pretty much broth. there was really no meat or veggies of any kind, how is that a gumbo? The broth itself was also pretty mehh, unfortunately this was a dud. We also got the stuffed jalapenos which were very good but small portions, pretty spicy which I love. Keep in mind at least the happy hour portions are small, but the price was okay. Though I have to say after the experience with the staff and the less than thrilling gumbo I was put off with my final bill. I had high hopes for this place but when in New Orleans I won’t be back.
