We decided to pop by this neighborhood café after the first café we wanted to go was closed for a private function. The décor is pleasant and even had a private room. They serve both local fare and western fare. I decided to go for their signature mushroom chicken dish. I was a bit disappointed to see that the breaded chicken fillet was of the frozen variety but have to applaud them for cooking it perfectly as it was juicy and tender. However the mushroom cream was very diluted. The chicken sandwich looks quite dry but my friend managed to finish all of it. Overall it’s a cosy space and quiet. But food is a bit mediocre to keep coming back. There are other restaurants around the neighborhood that have more tasty offerings.

I was looking for a decent lunch on a Sunday afternoon and was a bit tight on cash as was at the end of the month. I was around Happy Mansion after church service and saw MM Café. It is a corner store next to Frame Thai. I ended up at MM Café because Frame Thai was packed as always. None of the waiters bothered when I entered the café. I got myself a table and even my own menu. Only after a while, one of the waiter took notice of my presence. She then came to take my order. I had sambal fried rice+ 2 extra eggs and lime juice. I felt it took quite slow for them to serve my lunch and when they did, they forgot of the eggs I requested. The eggs too came late and I was half done with my fried rice. The eggs were fried in too much oil, the rice couldn’t even soak up the oil. The rice was dry and probably a slight over fried. The only thing nice was the sambal that they served for the rice.

So I heard so much buzz about Food Foundry and thought I should give it a try. Sat down and looked at the menu, goodness too expensive. So we decided to check out the other restaurants ard seksyen 17. Didn’t want to drive anyway, we settled with MM Café. I like the overall ambiance of this place. Also, like the fact that there is a private room built in such a small premise. I had the ikan bilis fried rice. Overall it was ok, though I felt the rice was too small of a portion. But I really enjoyed the sambal. Had even two small plates of that. I won’t come back to this place again cos really nothing so special about it. But will definetely check out the other eateries around that corner.

This used to be my frequent lunch spot as I used to work nearby the area. Parking is relatively easy to get with no cost and the restaurant is air conditioned inside. It can get quite packed during lunch peak hour so you may have to wait for a seat and your food as well. MM café serves a variety of local favourites and western dishes but i always find myself ordering their kam heong fried rice or belacan fried rice. Portions are actually generous and their kam heong fried rice is fried with fragrant curry leaves and pieces of fried chicken inside which makes this dish worth the money. Prices here are actually reasonable which is the reason why I keep coming back to this place. Their western dishes aren’t that great so I would suggest sticking to asian food instead. They are also famous for their chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream. In my opinion, it isn’t the best brownie as i would of course prefer Valrhona chocolate in my brownie but its sufficient to satisfy your sweet cravings after a meal.

I finally got to try it after much word of mouth and reviews on the restaurant. Famous for it’s cakes, I however, did not try their cakes but I saw a variety of crêpe cakes. Went over for lunch and they have some Asian cuisines on the menu. The place is small and cozy, a nice place to hang out and chit chat with your close buddy. I had the Asam Laksa. It was not too bad but not that great either. Service was okay but waited quite a while for the food to arrive. The Belacan fried rice was good though! Situated in Section 17, parking should not be a major problem. Just try to avoid peak lunch time. I would still go back to try other food on their menu as my friend told me that some dishes are pretty good. I have yet to try their crêpe cakes. The coffee was decent as so was the ambiance.

This place was started back in the days with 2 share holders with lots of positive vibe. They built a small room for business center purposes. They would have inspiring leadership quotes plastered all over the café. Today it’s a little bit different. The management has changed as one of the owner left and ever since the renovation, the interior does look better and more posh but at the trade off of the food prices. They are way pricier now and somehow it does not justify the taste of it too. This has made me stop visiting this café and I would rather go to Frame Thai which is on the same row.

I’ve passed by the café multiple times but never once went in; until one weekday afternoon, my colleague suggested to go there for lunch. The café is located in Happy Mansion at Seksyen 17, serving Western and Local cuisines. The café is located directly opposite of Food Foundry. The place is quite small, but it has one private/meeting room which could sits up to about 10 people. The café is quite, hence, it’s perfect for people who want to have a lunch meeting or seeking to have a quite meal during their lunch break. My favourite dish would be their Kam Heong Fried Rice. I was surprise to find the fried rice had«wok hei’ — something you don’t normally experience in a café. It has a hint of spiciness and the fragrance of the curry leaves in it. This is the same for their Belacan Fried Rice too — perfect heat along with the smokiness from the wok. During weekdays, they offer daily set lunch which you can choose between 1 Western and 1 Local cuisine. After the success of their 1st outlet in Seksyen 17, they have opened up a 2nd outlet at Dataran Prima in 2014. They are serving early breakfast and dinner, compared to the outlet in Seksyen 17. You’ll have ample parking space most of the time, except during lunch hours on weekdays. However, you’ll still be able to get a parking space behind the café but you’ll need to do some slight walking. Operating Hours: Monday-Sunday(11am — 10pm) Email:
