Huge shop with plenty tables and seats for a decent café like this! Coffee is good. And scones! They even have appetizing looking nasi lemak too! Will definitely be back again for the scones!

Guess who recommended me this place? My bros? My friends? My colleagues? No haha my mother! Yes she is a scone-addict. Recently, she has been on several food blogs and when she came across this café, she drag my bum when I was in a middle of a movie just to take her there causs she doesnt have a license. It is not so far from where I stay and the traffic to that area is not bad! The scones there accodring to my mother is really rwally good. She loves the one with raisins especially and those plain ones. I didnt get any, I just went for the coffee and its not bad but I was in a grumpy mood so I didnt really enjoy the coffee so much. According to my mother, she enjoyed everything here including the service! On the way back, I had to hear her mutter about her experience there and they are all plus points.

2 Scones 1 Cup is quite the place for your dessert needs, and while the name is unappetizing, the food is, and ohhhh, the food is indeed. Anything that comes out of the kitchen here tastes amazing. You can try their signature scones that can be jammed with a variety of jams and cream(or raisins if you are into that sort of thing), and of course, they come with other desserts too, like their cakes. Mm mmm mmm. Even their latte tastes amazing too. If you happen to pass by Seksyen 17, this is the place for you to go. I, for one, can attest for that.

Located in Seksyen 17, 2 Scones 1 Cup, is relatively easy to find, though i can’t say the same for the parking. Though my friends and I payed a visit on a weekday and parking wasn’t too much of a problem, I can imagine that it’ll be hard to find a decent parking space during peak hours and weekends as the café is located in a mainly residential area. When we first got there, we all thought that the signboard looked pretty dodgy because they just spray pained«2 Scones» over the previous business’ old signboard as they have yet to get their own signboard at the moment. But the actual interior and layout of the place is lovely. Plenty of indoor seating and a few tables outside too. We came during lunch hour so we ordered Melaka Jonker Street Curry Rice and Nasi Lemak with Chicken Curry to share between the 3 of us. The Chicken Curry that came with the Nasi Lemak was served in a smaller bowl on the side, which i appreciated because I personally hate it when my rice is completely soaked with curry. Service was really slow though, it took almost half an hour after we ordered for our food to arrive. But the staff are all super friendly and entertained us even when we took a really long time to decide what to eat. For desserts we of course ordered scones. We got a set each and there was a choice between plain or raisin scones. Each set has 2 scones and is served with jam and clotted cream. The scones were light and fluffy but crumbled away when i tried to cut the second one and made a big mess and was messy to eat. I wish they did give more jam and clotted cream though, but when we asked for more cream they gladly gave us more. For cakes we ordered«The Lady», Red Velvet and a Lemon Sugee and we were given a free Frozen Mango Cheesecake. The Lady was alright, I’ve eaten better, the Earl Grey flavor of the sponge didn’t really come through but the Rose flavor from the rose petals were too overpowering. The Lemon Sugee cake was too dry for my linking but what made it different from any other lemon cake I’ve tasted before was that the frosting on this had a faint taste of Basil. Just a tinge of it, so it wasn’t overwhelming and it complimented the Lemon cake well. The red velvet here is excellent. Definitely going on my list of favorite places to get red velvet from. Soft and moist and frosted with cream cheese icing, definitely worth a try! The Frozen Mango Cheesecake is basically a cheesecake that has been frozen so that when you bite into it, it melts in your mouth. The cheesecake part of it was done perfectly, but I feel like they could have been more generous with the amount of mango chunks inside it.

2 Scones 1 Cup is a newly opened café in the midst of Seksyen 17. Although the location isn’t hard to find, but finding parking might be a little difficult on busier days. My friends and I visited this café just a few days back after seeing many Instagram posts about this particular café. The outside of the café is not much to look at and their signboard looks slightly dodgy as the café is pretty new so they have yet to change up the exterior. But the interior of the café made me feel very much at home with their clean white walls and minimalistic approach. There was quite a variety of desserts and a few main dishes to choose from. We ordered the Melaka jonker street curry with rice and the chicken nasi lemak to share for the mains. I like how the food was very unpretentious but I only hoped that the portions were slightly bigger. I also ordered a latte and my friend, the Pearl of the orient which was both really good. As for the desserts, we ordered the scones(that came with clotted cream & jam), the earl grey lychee cake, red velvet cake, lemon sugee cake and we were give a frozen mango cheese cake(on the house!) by the lovely owners. The scones which came in two varieties– raisin & plain, were quite light and buttery but I didn’t like how it crumbled way too fast when handled. The clotted cream and jam was lovely though. The earl grey lychee cake wasn’t really how I expected it to be as the scent of rose petals in the cake were a bit too over powering for my liking and the lemon sugee cake would have been perfect if it was moist. The red velvet on the other hand, was perfect– moist, dense and creamy. My favorite was the frozen mango cheesecake because I loved the texture so very much. Although the texture was on point, the cheese part of the cake could’ve been slightly tangy-er. As 2 Scones 1 Cup is new, some improvements can still be made. But overall, I really enjoyed myself here.

So it has been a habit of main to always check my Facebook feed as soon as I wake up. As I was scrolling through my feed, I came across a picture posted by my High School Senior, wishing another bunch of seniors congratulations on their opening of a café, and that is how I cam across 2SCONES1CUP, through Facebook. So before we start of with the more serious issues, I am sure that a lot of you may be wondering«WHY2SCONES1CUP? «. Well so did I and I made sure that I got an answer for all of you, it is actually a rather interesting reason thou, so you see as they say usually when people go for tea and order their scones it comes in a pair meaning(2) and it is said that it is best served with either a cup of tea or coffee hence the(1) cup. So basically it mean 2 scones with either a cup of tea or coffee will be the thing for you. Which I fell is a rather interesting way to come up with a name for a Café. I will give them A+ for creativity. So let us start of with the overall concept and design. To be honest as soon as I stepped foot into 2SCONES1CUP, I got a sense of homely vibe coming towards my direction for some unknown reason, but it just did not make any sense to me. I just felt so calm and just standing there and staring blankly around made me feel like I was at home. I even turned around to my buddy and said bro I feel like I am at home. So later on it came to my senses why I felt that way when I was just having a brief chat with on of the founders of 2SCONES1CUP about their main concept of their café was, and this is what he said to me «Basically we try to portray a very friendly, almost homely environment to our customers«and that is when it made sense to me that they succeed to portray that sense of homeliness to their customers. Therefore I am going to give them an A+ for successfully being able to portray their desired vibe and feel to their ambience. With all that being said, let us now get to the bigger part of this review — their coffee. Let me be frank with you, their coffee so far is by far one of the best coffees I have had in the Café’s around my usual hang out areas. The coffee had a nice strong smell and flavour to it, it had a very unique texture and creaminess in it. This was something different. Well it may be that I just love my coffee that way but you got to go there and try it out to understand what I mean. I believe presentation wise for their coffees and drinks they could really improve on a couple of areas. Last but not least — their service, it was very fast and efficient I must say, but then it is my first time there so it is a bit hard for me to give you a sturdy confirmation that they have first class service here. But one thing is for sure they surely know how to welcome all their customers with a smile. So if you are around the area you HAVE to check this place out. Go through the pictures and see for yourself. ;) ENJOY

Hidden gem in the Seksyen 17 neighbourhood. 2 Scones 1 Cup was opened by a group of high school friends with a passion for great food and a good cup of coffee. The establishment is decorated with a very clean and minimalistic approach. When you walk through the doors you’ll not only be greeted with a smile but also with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the scent of cakes and scones! Staying true to their name, the café does serve scones. Best served along side a cup of coffee, of course. The scones come in 2 variations: original & raisins. These are some of the best scones I’ve had. Apart from that, the cakes served here are all home-mad and freshly baked. I’d definitely recommend the carrot wall-nut cake with cream cheese topping. The serving is generous! THEYALSOHAVEWAFFLES! Also, the café is planning to start serving hot food somewhere in April. They’re currently experimenting with nyonya-inspired cuisine. Drop by and you may be able to sample some of their dishes! 2 Scones 1 Cup has taken over a corner lot and has an extremely spacious outdoor seating area. This café is definitely up and coming.
