Hidden in the Happy Mansion, this Thai food place that looks really humble is definitely a gem to be discovered. But, remember to control your urge to over order while you’re here. I was looking at the photos on the wall, and definitely was losing control. Their dishes’ price range are around RM15, and portions are decent. I visited with one friend and we ordered four dishes, and that’s after we trying to control ourselves. I especially liked the creamy tom yum soup with seafood — soup was thick and doesn’t taste like it’s prepared from the paste. Pork neck salad was another of my favourite. It’s slightly expensive but the pork neck meat was so tender and satisfying, eaten with the spicy salad — surely a must order for people who like spicy food. We tried their grilled fish with sambal rice too, which was awesome. The rice’s the bomb here, with a hint of sambal fragrant and goes really well with the grilled fish and their sour chili sauce. Tried their pad thai too, which was alright, and can’t wait to order more of their different food at the next visit!

As mentioned in other reviews, this place is packed like super packed especially during peak hours. Do take Unilocalers’ advice by coming early. Frame Thai is not your typical Thai cuisine restaurants because they serve cuisines that is usually found in the streets of Thailand. Of course you can find the typical Tom Yum, Green Curry served here, but you can also find other street food like the pork noodle, sausages, and other local delicacies that you may find on the streets of Thailand. My favourite is the pork leg with rice. The braised pork leg is served with red rice and the Thai milk tea is a definite try here. The Tom Yum is a must try as well, being a non spicy eater, I can only say it gave me such a kick that I ordered 3 drinks. Mango or Papaya salad gives the right citrus savory to start off your meal and if you still have the room for it, end your meal with the signature Thai Mango Sticky Rice. Although I would save my stomach for other dishes. Spaces is limited, crowds of fours is the best as sixes will have a problem getting seats and getting all the dishes being served at the same time. Definitely a gem tucked in PJ. Find this place, and bring your friends! They close at 8pm(early I know).

Guys if you are planning to come here I suggest you come here at least half an hour before peak hour. The place was incredibly packed, I almost gave up but I was still decided to give it a try, and man, the food was really delicious. Definitely gonna come here again for the second time. Forget those overpriced Thai food restaurant in malls, if you are craving for Thai food, this is the right place. The food are authentic as they import their ingredients from Thailand. Besides their staffs are quite friendly too, I felt quite homely and welcome when I was here. The only thing is their drinks are quite pricey, but if you are here for the food then it should be alright as the price is reasonable.

Favorite Thai restaurant of all time. Can’t get anymore authentic then this place. They import ingredients from Thailand. Staffs are all Thais too! Literally everything on their menu is great. You won’t be disappointed! P/S: try their Green Tea! It’s the Thai version of green tea. Not often you can find it in Thai restaurants around here.

Place is pretty small, food is pretty good, but the prices might be a little much considering the location, portions and ambience that other reviewers have touched on. If you want to try more dishes however, you might not want to come alone as a significant number of dishes are served family style and might be too much for one person.

If you want authentic Thai street food, there’s really very few restaurants as good and as reasonably priced as Frame Thai. Located in a lot at the bottom of a number of low-cost flats called Happy Mansion, this restaurant(which is also a Thai goods sundry shop) has been there for a long time and is run by a bunch of Thai ladies. The dishes are good, spicy and about as authentic as you can get — and I should know since I’m half Thai!

It is quite an authentic thai restaurant. Menu items are wise and the price is reasonable. Environment is too warm and overall the place doesn’t look so clean(some worker smashed a big cockroach(lipas) in front of me, faint). These are the items I ordered, pineapple fried rice, pandan chicken, lab moo, tomyam curry seafood, tomyam soup with coconut, shaved ice and thai ice tea. 1) love their lab moo, it is one of the best in town.(request them to do without internal organs if you can’t accept the taste of it) 2) thai ice tea — RM3.50 or RM3.90/ very good 3) DON’T order their shave ice, its is literally«Shave-Ice» — besides ice and rose syrup. That’s no other ingredients in there. RM5.90/ per bowl 4) their tomyam curry seafood is quite unique. It will take around 20 – 25 mins to prepare. It tastes like«creamy crab roe» to me. The rest of the food taste so-so to me. Do not expect good service from here too.

Frame Thai is one of the Thai cuisine restaurants/stalls not to be missed. Frame Thai is located in the older part of Petaling Jaya, Happy Mansion. Frame Thai used to be a specialised grocery store specialising authentic Thai groceries, but they soon realised that are better off in preparing authentic Thai cuisines. Frame Thai is one of my other half’s go-to restaurant in terms of Thai cuisine. It is not uncommon that they are usually packed with customers during any day of the week. Here they typically serve the local Thai street cuisines like Paad Thai, Pineapple fried rice, Tom yam noodles and so on. I have to say that their authentic Thai ice tea is truly magnificent(but a little over priced I guess). Other than that they have some really juicy and delicious Thai-styled pork satay’s which is not to be missed. This is definitely a place to have great authentic Thai cuisine, and I urge those that are into Thai cuisine to try this restaurant out! I will definitely be visiting this restaurant again.

Frame Thai is an authentic Thai eatery tucked in the midst of Happy Mansion, Section 17. This eatery also sells groceries and goods from Thailand which is a bug convenience to many. Now there is no need to travel all the way to Bangkok to buy their famous Tomyam instant noodles! There are quite a few varieties of Thai delicacies that is served here. My favorite is the somtam(spicy papaya salad) which I love very much. If you’re not a big fan of spicy food, you can tell the lady to make it less spicy to suit your liking. Apart from that the mince pork with basil leaves and pad thai is good here too. The braised pork leg rice on the other hand, was not up to expectations as I’ve had better. The Thai fish cakes were chewy and delicious as well but I did not fancy their sour sausage. Their mango sticky rice sells out pretty fast so do go early if you want to grab a box. Personally, I think that the food here is not cheap because we aren’t paying for the environment unlike other Thai restaurants.

Frame Thai is a terrible name for any restaurant, but anyhow, the restaurant serves pretty decent Thai food that will make its name irrelevant in this review. It is quite honestly just your typical Thai restaurant that you are accustomed to go, albeit the slightly cheaper prices. Everything here is mostly tourist-y, with Thai products like Thai tea, Thai this, Thai that, basically Thai everything that will tie itself into one. Not the best of places to eat, for its food is decent to just being average. Then again, if you want to enjoy a plate of Thai food without feeling a big pinch in your wallet, then why not?

Look almost like your a normal chinese hawfer stall but as you enter, you will like you are in a Thai street hawker stall. The menu is full of Thai food you can possibly have such as soya milk, thai noodle soup, rice with thai dishes and many more. Colorful Thai packet drinks you can get and also Thai medicine sold here! I think your Thai Tea you order is refillable and the menu makes me want to try all! Price here is not like Boat Noodle but, it is much more feeling real and decent food. Outdoor Seating — Yes

Easily this is the most authentic Thai food you’ll be able to find in the whole Petaling Jaya. The people behind this place are Thais and you’ll be able to find grocery and snacks authentic from Thai because they used to known as Lai Thai Market. The place used to be so small that finding a place to sit is close to impossible during peak hours. With the recent renovation, it’s very inviting to find more sitting areas and they have shifted their grocery area to a small room for customers to shop without being disturbed by patrons of the restaurant. The food is amazing, I’ve tried almost every dish, especially the pork selection. My favorite orders are their tom yum noodles and pork leg rice. They are very good in selecting their portion of meat as they are tender and juicy with the right amount of fat. Don’t forget to order their Thai mango salad and mango sticky rice. They are absolutely delicious. For the dessert lovers, make sure you don’t missed out on their red ruby. The place isn’t air conditioned and with Malaysia’s hot weather, be prepared for a sweaty and hot dining experience whenever you visit them.

Sawadeekha! Do you miss thai foods? Let’s go Thai Frame. I got to know this place when my colleague brought me over for lunch as she was craving for Thai foods, so we drove all the way from Kuala Lumpur to Petaling Jaya. It’s located in residence area, at the ground floor of apartments. I would never know this place if is wasn’t brought by my colleague. Surprisingly, this place is crowded with peoples, everyone is queuing to get a table and for those who sit in don’t mind to share the tables. The shop is small and humid inside(no air cons) but peoples still don’t mind to squeeze in. We ordered bbq pork(highly recommended), pineapple fried rice, pork leg rice, Tom yam, pad Thai, mango salads, mango sticky rice and drinks. As most of the foods are imported from Thailand included the beverages and spices, so it’s taste pretty authentic just like original Thai street foods. However, due to popularity, I find those food are getting overpriced recently.

I am a food lover. Thai food is not an exception especially after my trip to Bangkok. Constantly craving for their street food! I got to know about Frame Thai(previously known as Lai Thai Mini Market) through my foodie friend who always posts those delicious Thai street food of theirs in her Instagram. After drooling over those pictures for some time, I went to give it a try and instantly got hooked. Now, whenever I’m craving for Thai street food, I’ll drive all the way there for it. Will no longer go to overpriced Thai food restaurant in malls. Whenever we are there, me and my other half will always order their pineapple fried rice, phad thai(Thai style fried kuey teow), grill pork, tom yum soup and iced milk tea. Without fail, I’ll have my mango sticky rice to go! To avoid disappointment, I’ll always take the mango sticky rice with me as soon as I enter the shop even before looking for a place to sit! That’s because I don’t want to go back empty handed. It’s a nice place to be if you are craving for Thai street food. But I found it a little pricey though.

Formely known as Lai Thai Market, Frame Thai is an eatery and mini mart at the same time. The place is fully run by Thai, so you can be sure that you’ll be getting some authentic Thai food. The shop is located along the row as MM Café. Since it was a mini mart at the beginning, the place has limited space and it’s always packed with patrons. Apart from your usual Tom Yam and Pineapple Fried Rice, they have other traditional Thai food that you don’t usually find in the Thai restaurants locally. One of it was their Pork Leg Rice. The pork was fork tender and pack with flavours, and they have substitute white rice with brown rice. If you are not too hungry but wanted to fix those Thai cravings of yours, then you can try their Pork with Rice Noodle in Hot and Sour Soup. The noodles were served in a coconut shell, which in my opinion, was quite challenging to eat. Despite of this, the broth was delicious — it has the right amount of heat and the pork was tender. I only wished the portion was a little bigger. The place can get very crowded and stuffy, especially during the hot weather. Also, be prepared to stand and wait for an empty table. If you are missing the Thai street food, then Frame Thai would be a place to go to. I wouldn’t say the prices were exactly affordable, as you might be paying up to RM15-RM20 for a meal and a drink. However, it’s still worth the money. Operating Hours: Monday-Sunday(10am — 5pm)
