4 stars because it lacks airconditioning.(I’m not spoiled! It can be very panas in Malaysia, ok?!) I found out about this place around 5 years ago when I had to book a cake for a colleague and since then, they have been my favourite place to get mille crepes! It is absolutely delicious! My favourite is the salted caramel one! Nothing fancy about the way the place is designed but it is very brightly and naturally lit. Other than cakes, they do serve other types of food. To summarise, the key items here are the mille crêpe cakes.

If you are on a budget & searching for a casual place that serves decent meals, there is no better place than Food Foundry. I love their mille crêpe cakes & salmon salad. They have a rather nice self designed interior & painted wall. The area is quiet too thus making it a good place for meaningful conversations. However, it isn’t air-conditioned so it gets warm in the afternoons.

Food Foundry has a nicely hidden location beneath a block of flats but the food here is pretty average. I tried their duck confit pasta, which seemed a bit… lazy. The roasted chicken thigh with herby sauce was better, and value-for-money at RM18 a portion. To be honest, none of the savoury items at Food Foundry have ever really blew me away. But everyone goes to Food Foundry because of the mille crêpe and I’m happy to report that theirs are good. The cakes are light and fluffy and very prettily presented. And they come in nice flavours like salted caramel or mango. My favourite is the chocolate version. Oh and look out for the squirrel mural on the wall, it’s really cute.

Food Foundry is a cosy family restaurant, situated on the Ground Floor of Block B Happy Mansion at Seksyen 17. It’s a popular dining and hang out post not only for those who staying nearby but also for a lot of foodie. The eatery offers both Asian and Western dishes. Food Foundry has always been famous for their mille crepes. Before the famous Nadeje or Humble Beginnings, Food Foundry was the only place where you can get delicious mille crepes. The place was recommended on TripAdvisor, but I think only the mille crepes are worth trying out. The main dishes were only so-so, but the crêpe were good — especially the Salted Caramel and Almond Mille Crêpe(RM11). Each layer was paper thin, and despite it was coated with caramel it wasn’t sickening sweet. They were quite generous with the almond on top of the crêpe and it added some crunch to the dessert. The place doesn’t have air-conditioner, so you might want to dress in light clothings when you are dining at the café. Due to the crowd they have expanded to the shop next door, but they did not break down the wall in between. So, you might come across some service problems. The place is always crowded over the weekend, so it’s best to make reservation especially if you are going in a big crowd.

Hidden gem in Seksyen 17! Found in one of the Happy Mansion flat blocks, Food Foundry has really made a name for itself in the Klang Valley. The establishment is decorated with a minimalistic approach and focuses much on nature and comfort. Their walls are decorated with hand paintings and gives off a very homey feel. They serve western-inspired dishes such as Chicken Corden bleu and all sorts of pastas! Food Foundry is famous for their mille crêpe cakes, of which they have many flavours! I’d personally recommend the vanilla cake! Each layer of the cake has been made with cupfuls of love and attention ;) A good place for dessert!

I think Food Foundry is pretty well known for their crêpe cakes and rightfully so. Sold in many different flavours, the vast option means that there is something for everyone. I personally like to keep it to vanilla and strawberry. The cake is light and not too sweet, depending on the flavour. But It is a great alternative to the usual sponge and cream cake variety. You can also order a whole cake to go for special occasions. As for the food, unfortunately, leaves much to be desired. The quality just isn’t there and sometimes, it is even served cold. Not worth it considering the price I feel. Portion is pretty big which is good news for big eaters. But as of right now, my advice is to just stick to the crêpe cakes.

I was introduced by my colleague for our lunch after company charity event at Food Foundry. Food Foundry is located at Happy Mansion. Personally think that this place is one of the hidden area in the busy PJ. Thus, I kinda like the relaxing ambiance here. Back to the point, we went for our lunch at Food Foundry. This eatery is big, it has two lot; one corner lot and one intermediate lot. The design was themed as backyard, I guess. Many pots of plants were placed outside the café. And one side of the walls was decorated with«butterflies», using recycled materials. The only bad thing about Food Foundry is that it doesn’t have air-conditioner. During a sunny day, you will feel a little hot here. Also told by my colleague, Food Foundry is one of the most delectable mille crêpe café in Klang Valley. However, I didn’t order it because I had ordered fish and chips. To be honest, I don’t really like it because it has a thick layer of frying batter. It will be more favorable if the batter is thinner. My colleague ordered their lavender mille crêpe; I didn’t try; but it looks delicious. Perhaps, next time when I am tempting for mille crêpe, I can come to Food Foundry to have a piece of cake.
