Good value, good tasting Thai food that’s very reasonable. What more could you ask for? I think the best part of this place is it’s staff. They are smiley and courteous, happy to talk to you and take their time with you. Whatever these guys are doing in HR is really working. Tom yam was okay, the papaya salad with salted egg is satisfyingly spicy, the squid is cooked just right and the fishcakes were made with great tasting ingredients. Can you see that I’m a fan?

Food and drink I ordered was okay, no complaints. Would definitely go back to try other stuff in the future. Ambiance was not bad considering it was outside The School, which is fine when it’s not hazy, but still. There’s a water feature and stage area, tables for larger groups… space for the most fidgety of kids to move around in. Most of the tables were alfresco, but there were also plenty of fans going, so it wasn’t so bad. Service was decent and staff were honest: I had left my Maui Jim sunglasses on the table and forgot about until I was about to leave Jaya One. I rushed back and fortunately, the people after me at the table had turned them in to the waitstaff and my sunglasses were waiting for me at the cashier. They have both service and GST charges. Their cashier counter also serves as a takeaway counter.

Finally here after my friend told me that there’s this rather new Thai restaurant opened in Jaya One, and I would definitely give this place a 5 star. You shall look at their menu and prices here and be surprised, and then feel like ordering everything — which was kind of what my friend and I did. We ordered a little bit too much, and finished all the food still. I know. They have around two pages in the menu just dedicated for salad — so if you are a big salad fan, especially of the papaya salad, they have a few options just for that itself. Tom Yum soup here in my opinion isn’t a big wow, but they do put in some fresh shrimps — you get more than two small shrimps, which usually is what you get in other places — and it’s only RM12.90, which I find a very fair price given that it’s in a mall. If you like papaya salad, you might like what they have here. Spicy and not too strong, spices used in a very even manner and I found that rather addictive. You just keep digging into it. I ordered their spicy chicken with fried egg rice, which was already one of my favourite dishes there right now. Less than RM10, and the portion is decent. And, they do serve their food pretty quick, which is definitely a good thing! Unfortunately their mango sticky rice wasn’t available that day, as they mentioned that their batch of mango isn’t sweet enough, so they decided not to serve it. Isn’t that lovely though? — At least they didn’t serve it regardless of the quality of their ingredients. And, fortunately then we turned to the coconut pudding dessert, which was tiny but only costed RM1.50 for two pieces — and it was divine. If you’re a fan of Nyonya kuih, order this dessert, and thank me later! I had their lemon grass and pandan leaves drink here, which was very refreshing, costing RM4.90. Try out their fizzy lime too — you might think that it’s something overly sweetened, but surprisingly it’s not at all, and it’s super refreshing. Would I come back? — Oh come on, I’m bringing someone together with me the next time!
