Good fast food… on the run! The first time I discovered the fish sandwich it was good. I requested light dressing it worked for me. Now I am eating vegan I tried their Veggie burger with no bun. I discovered that the burger was Morning Start :(It has egg whites. well for me I can enjoy this excellent onion rings and sweet potatoes fries.

Since these guys had basically just opened, it was crowded. Considering that, the food came out very quickly, but it was pretty obvious that dining experience was sacrificed for speed: one order of our fries was missing so I had to go back to the counter. My wife complained that her burger was overseasoned and I noted that mine was dry and also fell apart because it was hastily slapped together. Other than that, they were good with a nice charbroil flavor. We also ordered the tempura green beans. When I first started digging into them, I could tell the oil used to fry them was a little rancid. I warned my wife, but she didn’t think they tasted bad. However, later that night, we both became ill. I might be willing to give them another chance after the crowds and hype dies down a little, but I am rarely in the area and would probably rather go to the Greek fast food place just down the street if I was.

Total bummer! Went in here craving a nice juicy burger fresh off the grill. What I got was a 5 tablespoon burger and mayonnaise sandwich. The other produce was swimming in mayo. The burger meat was dry and way over well done. My top bun was so toasted it was a hockey puck and the bottom was soaked with mayonnaise juice… yes mayonnaise juice. Won’t be coming back to this spot. Maybe I try the one further up in Sunnyvale,

I’m giving this place three stars because what I ended up getting was really good, which was their original cheeseburger, despite what I came to The Habit to order. I came here for the first time today and ordered the tri tip sandwich, which was served to me undercooked. I would not order this again– aside from it being undercooked, I think tri tip sandwiches in general are better at a place where food isn’t mass produced– that was my mistake. The counter worker asked if I was okay with the meat being prepared medium, which I was– in my experience medium temperature means cooked on the outside, pink on the inside. The meat was very undercooked and uncooked through most of the slices both inside and outside. I couldn’t finish it because I lost my appetite for the meat. I went back to order the regular cheeseburger and explained why I wanted to order something new, but the counter worker only asked why I didn’t go back and ask for the meat to be cooked longer. I explained that I no longer wanted to eat it and she couldn’t provide any further help and charged me for the burger on my new order. I wasn’t expecting to get a free meal, but I think it’s a little unprofessional to just ignore a complaint from a customer and move on without attempting to resolve it. $ 18 later for a sandwich I could barely eat, cheeseburger that I did eat, fries, and a soda. I should have gone to a fancier restaurant for spending that amount of money on lunch.

The last time I ate at Habit Burger was in a city far far away and remember the Tri Tip sandwich being hella good. But that was years and I never ate at Habit Burger again even though I’ve driven by the Sunnyvale and Santa Clara location many times. One day(more like last week) I came across this article online and it said something along the lines«#1 burger place in America and probably not in your city»…something like that… I forgot verbatim but I remember the #1 burger place in America part for sure. Anyways guess where??? Yup Habit Burger!!! I read the article and saw the savoring pics and was like I HAVE to eat this asap!!! So I made the trip here and the rest is history. There was no line when I came but there were long lines in and out. The staff was super friendly and they and a lot of people who were working which meant people are gonna get their food fast and that’s what we want. Can’t stand when places are understaffed especially food places so glad this place had a lot of people working and fully staffed. I ordered the tri tip and it was good. The Santa Barbara is new and that was good too. The Char-Burger was not that good. It was plain tasting and something I would never order again. I only liked the premium sandwiches(which costed a lot more too). The article I read stated that Habit Burger is all about being fresh and natural thus being #1. I got my Habit Burger fix therefore I am satisfied. Hubby said never again but he says that about every restaurant we go to.

This is a fast food join that is, unlike any other, trying to be a classy place… I had been here with a few friends and we had a few things of the menu… I would definitely recommend this place to one and all… We had a few mix and match orders and few off the shelf order… I took a Chicken Club Sandwich with an addition of Tempura Jalapeño and mushrooms… It is by far one of the best chicken sandwiches I have had in quite some time… It was really flavorful and tasty… I loved the presentation style for the same as well… I didn’t for a moment feel like, I was at a fast food joint… My friends took a Tempura Jalapeño Char Burger and a Vegie burger, all of which were equally great as well… On the sides for the table, we had ordered Onion rings which were quite crispy and fresh… There is plenty of parking available and they do take credit cards…

I hope this place starts opening more locations because the hamburgers here taste like BEAUTY. You can tell a lot about a place through their ranch sauce and their ranch sauce is brilliant. If this place was a bullet I would say it hits my taste buds right in the bulls-eye. What do I always get? The Santa Barbara burger with extra onions. Usually when I eat hamburger I feel like a heavy sloppy beast, but here I feel like I can still breath after eating.

The habit is pretty good, gave up beef and pork almost a year ago but honestly from what I remember it was really good! On the bright side from my experience, they have other options for me to choose from. Today, I ordered the veggie burger w/cheese, onions(should have gotten grilled onions instead of raw bc it was literally a huge chunk of onion right in the middle of my burger), honey mustard, cucumbers, lettuce and tomatoes. It came with a wheat bun too. 3⁄5 stars on the veggie burger. I will always come back for their fries and ranch! Service was good! Megan was a great worker with a great attitude.

It’s pretty crowded in the«better than McDonald’s/Burger King/Wendy’s/etc.» burger arena. Of course you can discount the pioneer/stalwart known as In n Out. But now there’s Five Guys and Habit Burger. Depending on your mood, you won’t be wrong in choosing either. If you are not interested in fully customizing your burger and want options, then Habit is where to go! The clincher? Tempura fried green beans! What a great alternative to regular fries. Plus, the décor is warmer and inviting compared to In n Out or Five Guys!

During the times I’ve been here, the cashiers always seemed to be in a bad mood. Other than that, I’ve never been disappointed with the food! I’ve never had to wait noticeably long for my meal, even during the busier times. I’ll usually get a single or a double char burger in a lettuce wrap, which is made to perfection! Some might not agree with me, but I think it’s better than In N Out, and all of the other burger chains in the area. Their fries also reign over In N Out, but Five Guys still ranks above all. Lunch can get pretty busy here, and the seating area is pretty limited. If its a nice day, they also offer some outdoor seating which is perfect to soak up some sun. It can get pretty breezy though on gloomier days since the buildings surrounding it make it like an alley.

This isn’t exactly the place I crave when I want a burger, but it wasn’t bad. It was only my second time at a Habit(first time was fine but not memorable) and while the service was a little annoying(the folks at the counter seemed too caught up in their conversation to pay attention to some of their customers… Wish they had the manners like the staff at In-N-Out) the food was good. I ordered the portabella double burger special they had, which came on sourdough with garlic aioli and it was tasty! The order of onion rings were crispy too. The chocolate shake I had was ok, but a bit gritty. I prefer Jack in the Box shakes over this to be honest. But yeah, I’d come back… Just not sure I’d make it a Habit.

Was visiting a friends business in Santa Clara — and saw this place on the way over to his shop. The wife and I hadn’t eaten, and liked the looks of this place… so in we went. First impressions — very new, very clean, very crowded. BUT… in a well-organized kind of way. Long line that moved fast, plenty of tables(they stayed full, but turned over quickly). We placed our order — the wife ordering a cheeseburger, and me ordering a bacon cheeseburger w/swiss(yes, they have real cheese!), fries, and two drinks. Price was about the same as Five Guys(which is AWESOME, but they don’t use real cheese… their only ding). They took my money and gave us a pager(nice!). We found a table, got our drinks, and about five minutes later, our pager went off, We both did our fixin’s, and dug in. GREAT burger. Good fries. TOTALLY worth it, and yeah, I’ll be back the next time I’m in the neighborhood.

It was our first time here eating here, or at any Habit. And I must say, what I ordered was pretty good. I got the Santa Barbara style double char and it was good. I def enjoyed it. Also ordered a strawberry shake which was ok, I’ve had better(even Carl’s Jr has better strawberry shakes). The kids menu is a bit confusing, we thought the nuggets came with fries and either applesauce or something else, but I guess not. So we had to share our fries with our niece and son. Boooo! Lol jk Anyways. My bf ordered the mushroom burger and it was ok. Smash Burger’s truffle mushroom burger was way better. Service was cool but it was really loud, I felt like i had to yell in order for the cashier to hear me. Seating is ok. We ate outside and it was nice. That’s all–

One of my coworkers suggested to come here during lunch since none of us had an opinion on where to go. I quickly checked to make sure they had a vegetarian option for me, they did, so SCORE! Ordering was easy, you just wait in line, order and get a buzzer. I went for their vegetarian burger and the wait was about 5−10mins during lunch hours. When I got my burger, I was fairly surprised, it was a great size, I’m used to more measly small veggie burgers. Anyway, I was really excited also that they had an open jalapeño, banana pepper, and pickle area! I quickly loaded my tray with a little bit of everything. You can’t beat unlimited pickled goods! The burger itself was good, it was a little dry, but nothing too bad. I wish I had tried to opt for that garlic bread my coworker got, I think that would have made my burger heaven… I also tried some onion rings and fries, and I would say skip the rings and get the fries if you’re looking into sides. They had a good crisp to them! All that is missing here now is beer… That would definitely top it all off at Habit!

The best kind of burger joints are the ones that are consistently amazing. The habit is one of those places. You are never disappointed with your burger and fries(or onion rings if you’re feeling frisky). The only thing that changes from one Habit to another is the staff, the atmosphere, and the cleanliness. This particular restaurant is very clean, as it is also relatively new. Walking in gave me a good feel(knowing I was about to devour an amazing cheeseburger). The staff was a little disappointing, and the only reason for the missing star. The staff at this location was a little unfriendly, close to being rude. But honestly, it is all worth it for the burger. I can handle a little rudeness. The burger came quickly, and as expected, we devoured it. The fries were great at this location, which surprised me a little. Typically I am not head over heels for the fries. Maybe they’ve changed them up a bit! Overall, if you have yet to try a Habit burger, you are missing out on life. Do yourself a favor and get to the closest location ASAP.

Having lived in Santa Barbara for almost a year, I’m not sure if this venue is representative of Santa Barbara… The Habit is a Santa Barbara-based burger joint located in this new Santa Clara Town and Country mall that is hip and modern. Upon entering, there is a circular area to eat while others walk behind the eaters to place their order… rather upscale and hip. Ordered the Santa Barbara lettuce wrapped and with one patty(instead of 2) with avocado and all of the fixings. …the burger was mediocre… didn’t taste super fresh… Onion Rings were mediocre as well… oil wasn’t fresh and they seem to have been over-fried… ~$ 8 for a light dinner…

So happy one of my favorite joints from college days in SB has made it’s way up here! Went to this new updated complex to meet a friend for lunch. Line was long, but it went as fast as it could. Went for the charburger combo which is as cheap can be! Less than $ 8 for a cheeseburger on sourdough(per request), fries, and a drink! Service is really great, they give you ranch if you ask, and have plenty of condiments like jalapenos, banana peppers, etc. Food is great, highly recommend!

My first time at the Habit and I do have to say that it was damn delicious! I’ve been on this burger kick for the past couple of weeks so I have a burger twice a week sometimes. I got the BBQ bacon burger. It was yummy! Definitely would get it again. Wasn’t a huge fan of the onions on it though so I picked them off. Loved how they had the peppers/jalapeños available because I added them to my burger with a smile on my face:) I also got the tempura green beans with ranch. Ranch was one of the best I’ve had. And the green beans were perfectly crispy and lightly salted to perfection. Boo bear got the sweet potato fries which were good also.

A Habit burger is a horrible habit for your stomach but an absolutely delicious one for your tastebuds. Pretty sure your cardiologist will advise against it, but these guys deserve your business the next time you’re craving a burger. A chain that started in SoCal is now making it’s way up to our area– their San Bernadino burger with avocado is supposed to be their best but I haven’t tried it yet. The double char cheeseburger, with the added deliciousness of grilled onions, is amazing. The mushroom burger will blow your socks off– just remember to request the mushrooms hot, it really does make a difference. For sides, they have several options including some crazy-good onion rings and some well-executed but basic fries. You can get crazy with fried green beans, if you want to, or delude yourself into health-ifying your meal with a side salad. Location is new but small for the amount of business they get– best to send someone from your group to find a table while you wait in line to order. They also have outside seating in the plaza, which is a nice touch.
