Kenny high spirited attitude coupled with delicious«Kenny’s Cheese Steaks» is the perfect combination to put you in the right mood for chow. What’s unique about this place that I don’t see a lot in most restaurants is that Kenny takes your picture and place them on his wall throughout the restaurant. It’s a constant reminder or scavenger hunt of how interesting Kenny’s Café really is. The breakfast burritos are oh so good and very filling. I recommend everyone to go and try at least one thing on the menu. Happy Choosing!

A highly regarded lunch hub amongst the local municipal workers. Place has a weird menu, Korean and teriyaki on one side, and cheese steaks and burritos on the other(go figure). I had the jalapeño burrito. And my goodness, it was like a eating a brick. A moist, warm brick filled with eggs, cheeses, and meats of all kinds. I felt like I could’ve built a house after eating this thing, if I didn’t have a massive case of the Itis. Plus the old Asian dude(who I’d presume is Kenny) behind the register is hilarious. He reminds me of my drunk uncle on new year’s.

The short version of my review: go there right now, you won’t regret it. Great food, great staff, Kenny is awesome. I ended up finding this place at 7 am(right when they open), starving and hungry after a long night working. I saw they had cheesesteaks online and figured I’d hop in, get my takeout and head home to enjoy my food quietly. As soon as I opened the door, Kenny threw his hands up and said«HEY! IT’S THEFIRSTCUSTOMEROFTHEDAY! WELCOME!» His whole staff introduced themselves to me, and we had a delightful morning chat. He and his staff were so friendly and warm, it was such a refreshing experience with one of the best personal touches I have seen in a long time. I ended up deciding to stay and eat there to chat more. As I was eating there were many more customers coming in, all of them looked like regulars who knew Kenny and wanted to say hi to him. The food was excellent. The cheesesteak hit the spot, came with plenty of delicious steak fries, and he had a great assortment of drinks(like Aloe Vera drink! Try it!). He even mentioned there will be new additions to the menu soon based on customer feedback, Like more vegetarian options! The walls of the café are covered with pictures of every new customer he has ever had(thousands!) — you can tell the whole staff takes pride in their establishment and cares about the customer. The best eating experience I have had in months, hands down. Thank you to the whole staff at Kenny’s café for a great time!

Kenny is hilarious. It was a breath of fresh air meeting someone so full of energy and quirky! My bf was craving a breakfast burrito and since we were in the area we decided to stop by. We shared the jalapeño breakfast burrito($ 8.95) and it was deliciously spicy and hit the spot. They do not skimp on ingredients because the burrito was full of eggs, potatos, jalapenos, cheese, ham and sausage. No joke though, it’s actually pretty spicy because my bf suffering the consequences right now on the toilet. P. S. Prepare to get your picture taken and put on the wall! And by wall, I mean Facebook wall since the walls of the restaurant are already full of pictures.

My first time here, I read the reviews awhile back but it was the weekend & closed. So today I’m here, ran across the street! Seems like everyone knows Kenny, he’s very outgoing and friendly. I like how he has pictures of random customers displayed all over the café. I ordered the chicken philly sandwich and fries, not bad Kenny. I will stop in again when I have the opportunity.

I went to look for a breakfast place after dropping off my motorcycle for repairs and stumbled onto Kenny’s café. Unilocal showed them closed on Saturday, but they are now open on Saturdays from 7am-2pm. Lucky me. I was greeted by the enthusiastic staff before coming in. The décor felt casual and I loved all the pictures on the wall that featured their customers. I ordered a breakfast sandwich with bacon on Dutch crunch and a coffee. The sandwich arrived in about 5 minutes, coffee was self served at their coffee bar area. The coffee was brewed perfectly. I was able to drink it black and it tasted smooth, not too strong not too light, which surprises me because most places water down or burn their coffee. The sandwich was delicious and the perfect size. I was worried because I didn’t order any sides, but the sandwich filled me up. The egg was cooked perfectly and layered in the sandwich in a way that didn’t fall out when you take a bite. The bacon was thick and crispy on the edges. Melted cheddar cheese finished it off. It tasted like a perfectly executed homemade breakfast sandwich. I just wish I lived closer so I can try the rest of their menu.

My coworkers and I have found our«spot» now. This is definitely the place to be when you’re looking for delicious food, and light weight entertainment! Kenny is so excited about everything, it’s very endearing. When I first arrived, Kenny introduced himself and I told him it was my first time there, he was more than thrilled to have us! His excitement got me pretty hyped up too! Their menu is pretty extensive for a little spot. They had burgers, sandwiches, cheesesteaks, korean dishes, etc. Of course, I went with their vegetarian cheesesteak. My coworkers tried their philly cheesesteak, spicy chicken bowl, and BBQ burger. The food wasn’t too expensive and the portions were very pleasing. My vegetarian cheesesteak was on point! Everything from the mix of mushrooms, veggies, and jalapeño to the bread was perfection. I really liked the bread, it was very light and fluffy, but also evenly toasted. I didn’t feel too fatty after eating it so that’s another a plus! The order did take a little longer than expected, and they were a little disorganized with bringing out the food. That might bother some people, but the staff here is so fun and loving, it’s really hard to be upset with them! I can see why some people might be a little turned off by the enthusiasm of the staff here, but I loved it! After our meal, Kenny came by, to document us on his Samsung, he was so sweet about it, it was so hard to refuse. There’s tons of pics on the walls, so maybe you’ll see us on there sometime… LOL Anyway, everyone in my group really enjoyed our meal, and we’re already planning our next visit. We thought it was a great pick me up for lunch, and we’ll definitely be back soon!

This place was so fun and delicious! Such a fun locals type place. So much so there were a bunch of road workers in here that knew Kenny really well and were making a lot of noise. The workers here are so friendly, jovial and helpful. At the end of the meal he asked us how it was and if there was anything they could do better for next time. Photos of guests cover the walls and it’s so eclectic and fun. The food. It’s a unique combo of different Asian bowls and burgers that people seem to order with equal appeal. My bibambop bowl Korean bowl was so delicious. My wife’s Hawaiian spicy pork was delicious as well. Perfect amount of spice and the pork was plentiful and cooked right, and she’s from Iowa, the pork state of America. We’ll be back!

So good! We came here on a whim when looking for some breakfast while we were in the area and couldn’t be more pleased! I had a Hawaiian chicken bowl, and my husband had a breakfast burrito. Both were delicious. Everything was super flavorful and a lot of food for the money. I wish this place was in my neighborhood otherwise I’d be there all the time! I think the owner came in while we were there and he was awesome. Super friendly and talking to everyone and telling us all thank you. Well everyone working here was wonderful.

Kenny’s is my favorite place to go for lunch burgers, cheesesteak sandwiches and fries. Not only is the food wonderful, full flavored and of large portion, but Kenny(owner and namesakes) is a super entertaining and engaging guy. He greets everyone with a LOT of energy and enthusiasm. Wearing his Korean folk hat he chats everyone up all the time. By the way, since he is Korean, the restaurant also serves be bim bop, rice bows and other Asian foods. He even has some veggie dishes that my Indian friends tell me are fine. The décor consists of thousands of photos he has snapped and printed, then pasted to every surface of the restaurant. The last time I was there he told me of his idea to start putting them on the floor under a clear cover of some sort since the walls and ceiling are pretty much covered! By the way, the food is great. I try to only eat half and save the rest for dinner or the next day’s lunch. I favor the cheesesteak with mushrooms. It’s tasty, tender and served on a substantial, but still light and soft roll. The burgers are insane. I have a photo of my last one. I’ve heard the breakfast burrito is great but I’m never there that early! Anyways, check out Kenny’s!

Great food, great service! Ordered the Jalapeño Breakfast Burrito and it was delicious! I’d go as far as to say that it was the best breakfast burrito I have ever had. All the ingredients(egg, bacon bits, cheese, potato, more) married together very well creating a big, packed burrito. The salsa(which seemed to be a nice blend of salsa and pico de gallo) was a perfect addition. It was also my first time there… and because of the friendly service I was getting, I thought they somehow knew that! Pretty awesome that they treat all their customers as if they are there for the first time — with great hospitality and friendliness!

A hole in a wall type of joint situated in an industrial area south side of the San Jose Airport. The restaurant offer a mix variety of comfort food to satisfy cravings but limited to simplify the menu. They offer from bibimbap, Hawaiian rice bowls, teriyaki rice bowls, burgers, warm sandwiches and burritos(for breakfast served until 11am). I came here for lunch and ordered the Hawaiian Loco-Moco. Their version came with the patty top with teriyaki(instead of gravy) served with a cup of rice, cold(Korean) noddle, and a macaroni salad. Although it is a different from the traditional, the food is good and satisfies my craving. The macaroni salad served slightly overdressed and has sweetness to it. The only down side for this establishment is the food is good but the service is weak. But to my surprise, people still come and has a loyal customers. They must be doing something right. I’ll try the burgers next time which is a popular item on the menu.

Kennys café is great! Went here with the family for breakfast. We decided to stop here because of all the Unilocal reviews! Now the atmosphere itself is great. The place is COVERED with photos of their customers and it has a home type of feeling. Kenny himself, the owner I believe, is super friendly and outgoing. He greeted my family and I with an energy and you can tell he has a passion for his café, which was awesome. I ordered the breakfast burrito and my mom ordered the breakfast sandwich. Both were great. Food was packed with ingredients and you can taste the homemade and fresh ingredients. The only thing I have a problem with are the prices. The burrito was $ 8.95 which is pricy for a breakfast burrito in my opinion. Everything is around that price. I think it’s definitely worth stopping by but can’t go there everyday unless your loaded haha.

I got the Kenny’s cheese steak special and it was made by Kenny himself! Grilled with green peppers, onions, mushrooms and cheese on warm buns. On the walls there are photo’s all over from past patrons and you can read the top Unilocal reviews too as they are printed out. Maybe this review will get up there soon! ;) Great place for lunch if you’re nearby. The Bimibap is probably their signature so get that if that’s your thing.

Oh Kenny you stole my heart a bit today. We are only ever in San Jose on the weekends, but had a rare chance to be here during the week today. If this kind of situation happens, I always try and find a place that is NOT open on the weekends so we can try it. I Unilocaled«sandwiches, San Jose» today and this popped up at 4.5 stars. A cheesesteak is my death row meal, AND I had a couple cocktails last night so this was a square peg in a square pie hole — mine! We split the teriyaki cheese steak meal with fries and onion rings. HOLYMOTHA, this place is as good(but in a less«organic» way) as Phat Philly in SF. The teriyaki flavor was subtle but there, the steak was thin and tender but not too shaved. There was a nice texture of peppers and onions throughout on a soft Acme roll. I will dream about this sandwich and it is likely I won’t be able to enjoy it again for months and months until I am in San Jose again on a weekday before 3pm. The onion rings in the photo look like the crumbly breaded kind — not the battered kind(which is my preference), and looks can be deceiving, they were the battered kind and oh so good. I am betting they were frozen, but of a high quality. Kenny — maybe just open for breakfast on Saturdays for a few hours so I can try your breakfast burrito, please? He sure is a character like people on Unilocal write, he honestly cares if you like the food. And this gal loves when we order a sandwich that we are splitting, and without asking they split the order onto two plates with an even distribution of sandwich and sides. Mrs. Kenny — you are a lucky gal.

Kenny’s Café is in one of the most unassuming locations, but it sure has a following. We stopped in on a very busy Wednesday for lunch, and had serious grabby hands while we perused the menu. My man decided to go classic, bacon burger w/fries, while I snagged a spicy pork bibimbap. Unfortunately(and I’ll forgive them for this) it was insanely busy and we ended up having to wait 45 minutes for our food(a whole 30 minutes more than the originally quoted 15 minutes). I can totally forgive this because sometimes you’re short staffed, busy and in the weeds. I get it. The food though, came out hot and was really delicious. My spicy pork bowl was jam packed with stuff, pickles, lettuce, rice, cucumbers etc. and a little extra swirl of sriracha. His burger was gigantic and hearty. I’d definitely give Kenny’s Café another go, even despite the long wait time, but I’d be wary in advance and try not to pop in during a short lunch break.
