After living so close to Mulberry Street, we decided to give it a try. We had to try their award winning«For the Love of Mushroom» pizza and also ordered the«Hal’s». I have to say that the mushroom pizza was tasty, but overall nothing special. The sauce on it was good. I think the Hal’s tasted better, but of course, it was a meat pizza. Service was nice and friendly. And the feel of the restaurant was good.

Their pizzas are good and taste authentic. I just tried their food network for the love of mushroom pizza and we added pepperoni. I really love mushrooms so this pizza was perfect for me. Everything kinda fell off when I bit into it though. Not sure if it was the pepperoni or what that made everything fall off with each bite. It was still yummy and the red wine sauce is amazing. I’ve had a pepperoni mushroom pizza with marinara sauce before and that was good too. A little pricey for pizza but not horrible. Unilocal really needs to update Mulberry’s hours. Totally inaccurate on the Unilocal page.

I don’t know what everyone is raving about; I didn’t think the pizza was anything special. We made our own pizza with onion, tomato, and grilled chicken. The chicken wasn’t seasoned, the pizza sauce wasn’t seasoned, the crust wasn’t amazing. Nothing about that pizza was worth $ 15 for 6 slices. I’ve had better pizza at Little Caesars which costs $ 5. In addition, my waitress only came over to give me the drinks and the pizza. Then when we asked for ranch she said she’d bring it right over and then proceeded to not bring it to us. Overall, the interior of this place was old and made it look cheap. The pizza was eh, I’d honestly never come back. And our waitress seemed unwelcoming.

When I heard this pizzeria won Food Network’s pizza battle for best pizza in America, I had to try! It’s on their menu as «For the Love of Mushrooms» and is a 10″ wheat crust pizza with lots of sliced mushrooms and cream sauce, cheese and then topped with red wine reduction.(It reminded me a bit of cream of mushroom instead of tomato sauce.) Yes, it’s definitely a rich pizza with each bite equally rich and flavorful. I personally prefer thin crust and cream sauces generally tend to upset my stomach, but overall I’m happy and glad I tried it!

Currently sitting in the Mulberry Pizzeria and I must say, I feel so welcomed and comfortable. The manager and staff truly care for their customers. I am new to the area and I can say that I have found my new pizza place! The pizza is delicious and the service is stellar. Will definitely be coming back and telling my friends.

Fairly good pizza but way over priced in comparison to others. Build your own costs $$ 3.50 for each topping on 14 inch pizza-really! My last pizza cost $ 35.00 which I think is ridiculous. So beware and if you go just order the regular choices. Think I will go to competetator next.

Really enjoyed dinner at Mulberry tonight. Created our own pizza from their list of ingredients: pesto(rather than traditional red sauce), mozzarella, andouille sausage, diced tomatoes and the special ingredient that is not always available: roasted eggplant. We will definitely order this again. Yes this is a traditional style pizza shop. Nothing fancy or new. And it works.

I decided to eat here because it was convenient. Wasn’t really in the mood for pizza but I’m glad I ate here. My choice was an old world pizza and I ended up pleasantly surprised. My mouth was bursting with flavor and the crust was just right. As an appetizer I ordered the black bean pureed soup. Most places tend to muck up anything black bean but not this place. Once again my taste buds were met with exciting and complex flavors, making me long for more. Last but not least I topped things off with a crisp apple cobbler type desert. You guessed it, all the flavor you’d hope for and expect. The only thing that would have made it better is if they had served it hot, or at least really warm. Overall, big thumbs up.

I love coming here to get the For the Love of Mushrooms Pizza and the Shrimp Ceasars salad. I love the way the salad is made here. It’s so good that I crave it. Who craves salad right? Weird, I know, but it really is delicous. We’ve tried other items which were all good but these two items are our go to here.

I wish I could give zero stars. Bad good. Bad service. Price moderate. Worst experience dining in marin. I guess there was a reason I haven’t eaten here in over 10 years. The waitress was we had was super rude and nowhere to be found half the time. When we asked her for pizza dough(like all the other kids got) she gave serious attitude. Then she came back 10 mins into our meal and said she didn’t want to ask the kitchen because they were too busy. Meanwhile, other tables around us got dough and my poor 5 year old niece had to sit and watch. It was heartbreaking. Onto the food… ehhh. Spegehti was just ok. Pizza was ok at best. There are too so many other pizza places in marin far superior. Please done waste your time here. This place has gone down hill.

Mulberry Street Pizza has been here decades and continues to put out a great pizza. I remember coming here quite often after bike rides to the coast and back through Lucas Valley. We’d park at the park and ride at 101 and Lucas Valley and hen after the ride drive right on over here to Mulberry Street Pizza just up the street a ways. Depending on when you get here, count on a wait, this is one popular place. Arriving around 3 in the afternoon was a good time and no wait. The menu is quite expensive and has you normal mainstream toppings, but many other more exotic type toppings … this is Marin Co. ya know. The prices are what some might think are high, but this is way better than Pizza Hut folks, so you gotta pay. Maybe if you just want to stuff some children with pizza, you might just get pizza cheaper somewhere else, but for a nice adult pizza come here. I’d say it’s nest to eat in the restaurant, cause you’ll get the most hot and crispy pizza that way. If you show up with a party of 8, you better be prepared to wait a long time. This place doesn’t work out so well for big parties… up to 4 –5 is fine … that’s just me, I was in a big party once and we really had to wait. We got the Pizza al Pesto — Mulberry House Made Pizza Sauce, Mozzarella and Parmesan Cheeses with a spiral of Pesto Sauce and Fresh Chopped Garlic, Sliced Tomatoes and a sprinkle of Black Pepper, in the 14 in. size for $ 30.00, I told you this was not cheap! We had 2 vegetarians with us so that was what we got. I’m surprised I liked it as I’m not too much into veggie pizzas, but this one was actually really good. There’s not much else in the immediate area here, so it’s really a destination restaurant, but having survived so many years, there’s a reason … this is some tasty pizza.

I really like this little gem tucked away in the hills of Marin. I have lived here for 20 years now and drive by it every time I go to the movies. A friend suggested it a few weeks ago and I’ve been several times since. I really love this place. I’ve been here for dinner with friends and the atmosphere is really nice and comfortable. The lights are dimmed a little low, and the conversation level is not loud but the right level to have a nice comfortable conversation. The waitstaff is very friendly. I’m sure you will feel very comfortable here. Now for the food. I keep a vegetarian diet and that is the hardest food to cook. To my wonderful surprise, they always have two vegetarian soups of the day on the menu. I usually get a bowl of soup, a house salad and then a small cheese pizza. The pizza is very good. I have always enjoyed my meals here. I’m making this one of my go to places for food now.

In this day and age, even pizza has become a polarizing topic. With all the regional and personal variations, it seems that«your mileage may vary» — whether it’s thin vs. thick crusts, tomato sauce or not, etc. — ultimately shapes our POV around what’s good, and what’s not. At least in the Bay Area, there’s definitely been a trend around minimalism — blistered crust, sparse toppings, easily consumable at one sitting and you can add a salad as well, and not leave stuffed. While I appreciate that style, Mulberry’s(in business for nearly 30 years) offers what I consider a more traditional style, with perhaps even more toppings than the most generous pizza place. The generosity doesn’t lead to greasiness — just a filling, delicious pie that defies any chain or even boutique pizzeria to beat — in my opinion of course. I’ve become a bit predictable at lunch here, typically ordering a VERY generous slice with pesto sauce and sweet Italian sausage. But their soups are terrific, with what can often be a humdrum appendage at many places replaced by hearty, creatively seasoned bowls that can be a meal with a small salad. Lasagna(I believe five cheeses are included) is, predictably, lavishly filling, and the garlic bread is a starter that I wouldn’t miss when I’m joined by friends. Gluten-free options abound for those who prefer(or need) this, and it extends to items such as the spaghetti and meatballs. Desserts are homemade and predictably very good — the bread pudding I shared with a friend was terrific. I also want to call out the servers, such as Don, Steven, and Pam, who are incredibly friendly, focused, and efficient. In a difficult environment to hire and keep good talent in the hospitality business, Ted(the owner) has managed to locate some of the nicest folks in the business. Hats off to them, as well as the kitchen for consistency and execution. In short, Mulberry’s location — across from a theater, in a mini-strip mall, amongst mostly residential and industrial buildings — may preclude you from stopping by. Don’t let it stop you, as this place is both homey and homemade, and I’m always smiling and satisfied after I leave.

We always get the same delicious, wonderful meal: Start with the incredible garlic bread, which is about the best anywhere. Then enjoy the incredible Caesar salad, which again is one of the best anywhere. Then we share a Hal’s Special Pizza. We love it! There are other great pizzas no doubt, but we cannot move beyond this one because it is so tasty! The service has always been very friendly and attentive! What a great resource. Thanks Ted!

Really had a stellar experience here. Staff lunch meeting saw 4 different types of small pizzas, extra garlicy bread and salads passed around, then disappeared completely. Go ahead and get the one with the spicy sausage, tomatoes and basil(I think that’s what it was). Homygawd. So good. The spicy Andouille sausage was just to-do-for. Good for groups. Food came out quick and hot. Will return.

Pizza and service are amazing. I moved to the neighborhood recently, and have since visited Mulberry Street Pizzeria a few times. I’m otherwise unaffiliated. Reading some of these reviews makes me sad. Some real grumpy babies out there. In my experience, everyone working there has been nothing but super polite and warm. Occasionally, it looks like they give some well mannered high-school kids waiting jobs. And sometimes, those waiters will make a minor mistake here and there — like forget to bring you a fork until you remind them, or leave your water glass empty for an extra couple minutes. Little things — that don’t comprise carelessness, or rudeness, or anything but appreciation for their customers, and an earnest effort. The pizza itself unbelievable. They must have given the cooks clear instruction to literally never consider the cost of toppings, and just use the best of everything, and fill every pizza to its edge. Their emphasis is definitely on quality, and you can really taste it. Sometimes that means it can take a few minutes longer and cost a couple extra dollars than some awful fast food pizza chain. It’s worth it. Fantastic place. Thanks Mulberry Street.

I would love to rate the food and/or the beer here, but I’ve been waiting for 25 minutes now and still haven’t received either! I had to flag down someone to take our order and we are a party of 6. We are hard to miss. It’s a Monday night @ 8:10pm. How does place handle a rush??? Or stay in business??? Wish us luck on the food… if we ever get it! Signed, Hungry

This restaurant so reminds me of a pizza place near where I grew up, which my family regularly visited on Sunday’s for dinner. Such fond and tasty memories! If you are looking for fancy digs and a sophisticated Italian menu, this isn’t that place. It’s really more of a casual, comfortable, family friendly restaurant that serves excellent pizza, with good service at fair prices. We’ve eaten here many times over the last year and our experiences have been consistently good. The owner/chef often greets you at the door and overall thie experience leaves you knowing this restaurant can be a solid«go to» whenever you are in the area and want a good meal without all the pretense. We brought my dad and mom here last December and my ded still says this was the best spaghetti he’s had in his 84 years. I’m not exactly a spaghetti coniseur but coming from my old man that’s saying something! We are Southern California transplants and this place reminds me a lot of Topanga Pizza in Woodland Hills. That was also one of our favorite haunts for many years, so we are glad to still have such a place in our new NorCal lives.

I love this place! The pizza and service was the best I ever had. The owner was so friendly when we walk in even came to the table to talk to us. Made us feel right at home. The waiters was very nice(I think her name was Natalie) she was very friendly and very knowledgable about the menu. She check in with us and made sure that we were fine. I would come back here. Oh yah I forgot to mention about the garlic bread ur was so good. The best one I ever had
