Came here since I purchased a Groupon to check it out. Overall the food was disappointing. I got their linguine with clams with red sauce. There were some semi-fresh clams in shells scattered around the dish, the rest of the clams were canned clams(I know fresh from canned!), in the liguine. For $ 18 that dish was epic disappointment. I felt I got taken for on a cheaply made dish. I also got the Insalta Misto(salad), which was also lame set of chopped iceberg type lettuce, some shredded carrot and some semi-fresh cut tomatoes, not at all worth the $ 7, especially since it was so small. I also got their house cab, which was meh, and for $ 8 it was a double meh. At least the Groupon took a an edge of the unnecessary high total, still then not worth it really. Oh lastly, the place had cheap tacky Italian décor that was run down, such a fail of a try for a Italian restaurant; Don’t take a date here, pleaaaassseee! All in all, don’t bother with this place. If you are in the area, go down the street to La Toscana. Their Italian is amazing, fresh, made with care. You will thank me.

Friendly staff, warm dining room, great pizza pie! Found this place on Unilocal and it was terrific! Thin crust with yummy toppings! Full bar and pizza guy visible from the tables(kids loved watching him flip the dough).

My significant other and I were on our way home and had to pass through SF to get home, we decided to try Gaspares out since we were getting hangry and it happened to be our anniversary too and it seemed like it would be a cute place to celebrate. There’s also another Gaspares in the city too, but we wanted to avoid the parking fiasco that is San Francisco. We came in and it just reeked of old Italian décor. Not a bad thing at all, and the older senior couple dining near us were really cute! Beside the point… Moving onto the food. We ordered the fried calamari appetizer, a small pizza that was half Hawaiian and half Danny’s special and I checked into Unilocal to get the free dessert. The fried calamari was significantly dry but had a nice seafood-y aftertaste. The breading and overcooked nature created a super chewy texture. The pizza was delicious! But greasy! Hawaiian is pretty much how you would imagine it to taste with Canadian bacon and pineapple. The Danny’s special was also tasty with pepperoni and mushrooms/pesto, but overly greasy as well. We were hoping to have a nice quiet relaxing dinner but since the Warriors game was blasting, and all the males in the house were howling and growling, it made the night a little less romantic. Who know so much primal noise could come out of humans? I think they should keep sports in the bar area and allow patrons to dine in the quieter rooms because all the noise is distracting and chaotic. This is a restaurant, after all. Nothing against sports, but keep that in the bar area where it’s okay to yell at the screen.

Been to the one on Geary st. in san francisco. Ordered for delivery an x-large cheese and super spicy wings. Wings are kinda weak but pizza was very thin and great cheese flavor like NY style. Not the cheapest pizza for american style pizza.

Pizza always grubbin, tried spaghetti which was also top notch. Wife had tortellini Alfredo, which was meh. The Caesar salad family size, however, was tiny and bland. And the gnocchi pesto was over cooked and mashed potato like. Overall a nice place in San Rafael to have some authentic Italian food, just have to know what/how to order it.

Hungry. Big portions at Gaspares. Full bar, sports TVs, two separate rooms for larger parties. Come in for dinner with the family. Healthy portions they serve GF pastas and pizza! Super friendly staff and owner. Parking lot and street parking available. Home made cheesecake and flavorful ice creams. Worth coming anytime !

Do yourself a favor and try this restaurant. My favorites are the Caesar Salad and the Bruce’s Special pizza w/olives. It has a nice bite from the garlic and sausage.

Great pizza, friendly and attractive staff, I just love this place! It is a great romantic atmosphere and so many people already know that that there’s no room for anyone tomorrow on Valentines Day

Our favorite family owned Italian restaurant in Marin! Seafood pasta and salads are so delicious! Prawns and calamari are always fresh! The bartender is always sweet and accommodating! Great place to host a big bday dinner or celebration! We had celebrated our birthdays and engagement last year! They were very nice to accommodating our party of 25+ ppl two nights prior to our dinner party!

Mangia Mangia! Time and time again, this place serves up mouthwatering Italian fare. When you’re exhausted after a long work day, followed by kids’ sports/activities, come here. It’s a win-win for the entire family! There’s ample room to watch games without being at the bar area, and the back dining room is spacious enough for large groups. I love the pizzas and homemade lasagna. Dinner is always exceptional, and the service is stellar. Grazie to Gaspare’s for being around in my life, especially the SF location — reminds me of home. Happy hour is quite HAPPY with a nice selection of wines, cocktails, and beer. The bartender is always friendly and upbeat. Dessert is also a must! Can’t wait to come back for more delicious Italian food made with love! P. S. Daniel looks like his Dad. Like Father, like Son =)

Consistently good pizza and food. Best Buffalo wings in town! My wife and friends love the bar, although small, it’s always a fun experience with their bartender.

The food that I got delivered from this restaurant was obviously previously frozen. The lasagna had no ground beef in it, only sausage that was heavy with fennel seeds. It was overwhelming and made my stomach churn. The tortellini was edible, but not very good either, the alfredo sauce was soupy. The garlic bread was really hard and had hardly any flavor aside from the dry spices they dumped on it that never softened, so they get stuck in your teeth. We paid over $ 40 for dinner and I wish I had just spent $ 5 for hot pockets instead, it’d have not made my stomach so upset and maybe have tasted better.

We are in love with the pizza! And the environment is so chill. Not pretentious at all. The game is on and the bar is packed. There is a view to the kitchen from the dining room. And I’m not sure why; but I find it so entertaining when I can see the chef tossing the pizza dough. It relaxes me! Try the margarita pizza. I added garlic and oregano to mine. I almost ate the whole thing right there! The portions are healthy. Which is great for me because I love left overs! I have also tried the vegetarian pizza. It was also to die for. The veggies were so fresh and well seasoned. One star deducted for the lag on service. Our waiter forgot about us for a while. The buser stepped up his game because he noticed it too. Oh! And the Moscow mule was super ginger blasted; just how I like it! But kind of pricey if you ask me. Anyways…that’s my take on this place.

I ordered from here because I originally wanted it delivered, and this had the smallest amount of wait, but ended up needing to pick it up. As soon as I walked in it smelled like glorious pizza. I would come back here and try the pizza for sure, so these two stars are just for the entrees we ordered. I think this is first and foremost a pizza place and the entrees were underwhelming. I feel like I could safely order a really good pizza from here. The best part about this to-go order was that they put two enormous hunks of bread on top of my to go order and I realized that in some way, THIS was a good place.

Me and the wife were just passing through the area. We stopped at Gaspares for some dinner. It’s a quaint location near the freeway. My wife ordered the Chicken Alla Parmigiana, I had a small combo pizza, and we also had the calamari appetizer. I love calamari, and this place made there’s just right! This was a great meal. I was soooo full, and we had so much left over. The cocktails were good as well. I definitely recommend this place. If we are in the area again, we will definitely visit Gaspares again. P. S. You have to try the cheesecake. It is simple and delicious.

Unless I’m on a mission for thin-crust pizza, we rarely go out to Italian. I prefer to make mama’s classics at home! BUT, when you have 26 miles to run the next morning and don’t feel like venturing far from the hotel, Gaspare’s is a win! We came in around 7:30pm on a Saturday night and were greeted & seated promptly. Opted to sit in the bar area. Loved the ambiance, just what it should be. Antiquated and cheeky, yet darling décor fits this spot just right! + Caprese salad — loved. Fresh ingredients, flavors merried well together. And FRESH mozzarella. I die. + Chicken, cheese, spinach cannelloni — not my normal go-to but proved to be a solid choice. Two thumbs way up for a piping hot, creamy, and rich but not over-the-top dish. + Fiancée had the chicken parm with ravioli. His plate could have fed a small army, so let’s just say he’s pumped for leftovers and call it a win. This place is legit. Go!

Not the greatest Italian, but there isn’t that much competition nearby. As a first timer, we went for the basics: a pizza and spaghetti with meatballs. If I had to choose, the pizza would win. Not that it was great – but the crust was tasty enough. But we didn’t finish the spaghetti and meatballs, and that’s not because we weren’t hungry(we were famished). On the other hand, the service was good, I did like sitting in the little bar. Next time, I drive a little further for something better.

This was the best chicken Parmesan I have ever had! The place was not very busy because we arrived at 5:30pm which was perfect for us. They also have a happy hour, but that is not our style. The prices was reasonable and service was exceptional!

Oh yeah — San Rafael has got a winner! Authentic Italian dishes, of course. But, man, that pizza. It is the best pizza I have tasted in Marin — even beating the wood-fired pizzas at Moylan’s. And, while I love other San Rafael pizza places(LoCoco’s and Mulberry), that’s saying a lot! They serve it to you on an elevated rack on the table — awesome — and a 14-inch medium seemed to hit the spot perfectly for 2 people. The Terra Linda Trojan with Pepperoni, Sausage, Tomatoes, Spinach, Feta and Garlic was amazing. *Warning — that garlic is going to stay with you for a day or so! But wait. It gets better. They have a full bar! I can have a martini with that amazing pizza? Double amazing! Relaxed, family-friendly setting with very friendly service. The location may seem a bit odd — behind A&W when you are on Hwy 101 — but it’s actually perfect. Easy to get to and then either return to 101 North or South — or not return to 101 and curve West on your way out to see a movie at Northgate. I just checked out their website. Delivery available in Marin for $ 4. Perfection.

We did take out because we did not have time to stay for dinner. Ordered the Alfredo and the Spaghetti with Meat sauce and two Meat Balls. The Spaghetti was amazing! There was plenty of meaty flavorful sauce. It made the meatballs redundant. But I just really wanted to try a bite of one. They are about golf ball size and they charge $ 1.50 each for them. The Alfredo was pretty good. It actually tasted better re-heated and with extra cheese on top. The give bread with each pasta but the pastas are a la cart. I was not a big fan of the pasta that came with the Alfredo. To me the texture just was not right. Like the noodles were a day old or something. The Service was polite and quick. They opened at 4:30pm and we showed up as they opened the doors. The food was ready to go relatively quick. I would definitely go back for the spaghetti.

Overcharged and disappointed. I ordered a to go pizza with three«regular» toppings which are supposed to be $ 1 and I was charges for three specialty toppings which are $ 2. It wouldn’t have been a big deal, but the toppings were paper thin and barely identifiable. I got it home and thought to myself«I thought I ordered mushrooms». Then I looked closely and saw little black flecks. Same thing for sausage — imperceptible. Pepperoni cut so thin I could see through it when I held it up(not exaggerating). Crust and sauce were good, but not especially flavorful and not memorable enough to make up for lack of toppings. Checked in and got a Unilocal offer for a free dessert. It was ok, but tiny. I would have been pretty pissed off of is paid $ 7 for it. I asked my husband how it was and he said, «free». Two stars instead of one because the glass of wine I had at the bar while waiting for my pizza was good and the bartender was very friendly and made a nice recommendation.

You know what, I believe in a value system. Charge what you want but deliver. So I ordered a large pizza with jalapeño, mushrooms and artichoke. That came to 25.50 kinda on the high side and so not worth it. Then it was delivered adding 4 dollars that was not mentioned? After tax, tip and the pizza 40 $ just one pizza.
