The Menudo was HORRIBLE and no hominy, what’s up with that? Chile Verde Taco bland, Paid $ 13.25(no drinks), took one bite, then said, NO this can not be, tried some more… took to the counter and mentioned poor quality… two ladies smiled and said, have a good day! How am I going to have a good day when I was extorted into forking over $ 13, I should have called law enforcement and informed them of the robbery that occurred at Taco Rico in front of Trader Joe’s in SLO

Getting some fish tacos($ 10) to-go because I work two jobs and my life is shit. Usually I’m extremely selective about what take-out I shove in my hole, but looming deadlines necessitated an expedited decision. I expected the food to suck, but much to my surprise it was delicious. Plain and simple. Can’t say much about the service. It’s a cafeteria style restaurant. It sits in a little plaza with other businesses, i.e. Trader Joe’s, Starbucks, and some Christian book store. Seems to be the type of place where those employees eat on their lunch breaks.

Breakfast burritos. All I’ve had here. Not sure why it’s so hard to put salsa inside the burrito but three times I’ve asked for salsa inside, so I don’t have to walk out with three little tubs of it on the side, and each time it’s missing. I’ve asked for added beans and rice in mine more than once but though it was added never really felt it added much. They don’t load it up. The bacon is the way to go if you do get one. Though I’d still recommend Frank’s or Tacos de Acapulco on Laurel instead.

Great carne Asada soft tacos. Plenty of meat portions. The hard tacos were good as well but the meat needed more garlic seasoning.

My boyfriend and I were in town to go to the Dunes nearby and wanted something warm… we found out they had menudo! It was DELISH! Would definitely come back if we were in town. We both wanted menudo, please he wanted some enchiladas, so we had enough to share.

don’t know why this place have many bad reviews when it’s clearly good! me and my sister were looking for a place to eat a lil last minute and went there to try it out. at first I was debating if we should go or not but we went ahead anyways. we both order the tortas de al pastor and let me tell you. me and my sister was eating it so good. the bread good and easy to bite and perfectly toasted. not hard toasted and hard to bite. it was a perfect size. ate them around 9am and right now it’s 5:30 and I’m hungry so it is definitely worth it !!! the agua frescas are good but make sure you try them BEFORE you fill em up :) I’d DEFINITELYCOMINGBACK !!! :)

Disappointing! For $ 12 for nachos and a small drink, I expected better food and a LOT fewer flies! Also, they don’t offer a restroom, which I believe violates health laws. Well, OK, I found the restroom, but they have a very big sign the reads«No Public Restroom.» I won’t be coming back to this place. :-(

This is by far the BEST chorizo breakfast burrito and Chili Verde burrito in all of SLO. It’s crazy this place doesn’t have better reviews on Unilocal!I grew up in SoCal and am used to legit Mexican food and with the limited choices here in SLO(I’m not much of a fan of anywhere minus Chapala in Morro Bay) this is consistently a good experience for me. The staff is always friendly and couldn’t be more welcoming! The chips and salsa(all you can eat) are delicious. What more can you ask for! Do it!

Free chips and salsa, friendly staff, reasonable prices, and AWESOME Cheese Enchiladas made my Taco Rico experience worth 5 stars. The food came quickly and was hot and delicious, which was all I needed due to a tight schedule.

Came here on the way to San Fran, and the lady in the register gave us our order and it turn out to be wrong. So we called to let them know, and they gave us a replacement meal on our trip back; that was kind of them.

This is not good mexican food. Only plus is getting your own chips and salsa. Rice and beams were bland. Definitely not grandma’s cooking :(

Holy expensive! The menu is missing prices and it seems like they just make them up as they go. My breakfast burrito was way overpriced with hash browns that were barely cooked, they were soggy. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless they read their reviews and make some major changes.

On first acquaintance, I’m tempted to name them heir apparent to the recently departed and entirely unlamented Chino’s, previous local standard bearer for that subset of flavorless, Americanized Mexican food beloved of children & the elderly. I mean, I found a desiccated lima bean in my nuclear orange ‘Spanish’ rice, and the refried beans had a strange, metallic aftertaste which makes me suspect they went directly from a tin can to the microwave to my plate. But…they had a decent table salsa and an open chip bar, even if the chips were paper thin and anemic… that’s enough to get them a second star. I’m probably not going back, but if you wind up there order something cheap & fill up on chips & salsa.

In the area and needed lunch. overpriced rolled tacos had no flavor. The salsa is thin & watery. After spending too much money on taquitos, my wife and I had indigestion the rest of the day. Never again.

Giant burritos my a$$. The burritos are not giant, they are the same size as a small at chili peppers. The burritos cost as much as the grande at chili peppers. The carnitas were dry. This place is no bueno. Im not saying chili peppers is great, just putting this place in perspectice.

Breakfast burritos are gross an way overpriced. I’m talking $ 750 for runny eggs, bacon and hash brown. I gave the Rico a shot, however, I won’t be back for the bb. Anyone know if A great bb spot?
