Good food, value and service. Don’t know why this app insists more is better… good fish, salads, and burgers.

Classic burger joint, family owned and operated. Went for lunch, was moderately busy but had our food within a few minutes. California burger was everything you’d expect

So good and so fresh. The amazing service and super friendly owner make it that much better. I ordered for pick up and realized that I had a business meeting at the time that my food would be ready. I showed up super early and asked if they could put a rush on it. They were super awesome and whipped it up right away. I made it with enough time to get back to the office, eat my delicious chicken wrap, write this review and I’ll still make it to my meeting on time!

I love this place… yes it’s not by the beach but the owner knows and loves fish and buys the best. The wahoo fish tacos are amazing and always great customer service. Its definitely worth a try… from a person that’s been to Hawaii and had local fish tacos… this is by far the closest! Also breakfast burrito is the bomb!

Ah! Lahaina’s! This is now my ‘go-to’ fish and chips place in SLO! This palce has, until recently, been a favored stop for my wife and one of her sisters, who lives nearby, for some time. I FINALLY got my chance to come here recently, and I was SOOO not disappointed! The owner was very personable, and we discussed many of the food places here on the Central Coast, as my wife and I are recent ex-pats, having moved here from«The O.C.», making good our escape from hell(L.A./O.C. area). The fish and chips were absolutely great, with the fish actually being hand-breaded(lightly) from good, solid pieces of fish, quick-fried very hot, with some exceptional fries. The owner also tossed in a couple of squid fillets, which are breaded in an Italian-style crust. they were also exceptional. Parking, which is shared with the adjacent Trader Joes and Food 4 Less can be problematic, depending on the time of day, but the section of the lot parallel to Higuera is often open. Prices? Very competitive, with my wife and I managing to eat filling dinners for about 22 bucks. Drinks are not a part of our bill, as we always opt for«agua coladas’(water). This is definitely one of the culinary ‘hidden treasures’ of the Central Coast!

I think the reviews here are on point. The food was okay. The fish was actually good, real and clearly not of the battered and pre-frozen variety, which I appreciate. The place is okay inside it feels a bit old and sad. This place is not Hawaiian as someone else pointed out. Why can we not get some Chicken Katsu up in this place?! Clam chowder was okay, the fries were okay, the wait time was okay. Nothing bad but I do not feel compelled to come back. The fish was good, but no malt vinegar packets?! Good thing I had some at home. The fries needed seasoning. I ordered to-go, food took a bit, but it was made fresh which was nice. I didn’t get offered a drink that came with my lunch combo, no biggie, but worth noting. I wouldn’t want to dine-in here as it just feels a bit too cheap inside. There is not a lot of good options in this area, though I would have preferred Taco Rico next door.

This place was great! The portions are decent size. I had the Hawaiian chicken. Sandwich and it was amazing!!! So fresh and filling! Just a tad pricy for lunch. But I’ll go back soon ! Totally worth it.

Great food. It’s a burger and fish and chips kind of place, so the food tends to be on the heavy side, by chef Marco is skilled and produces some good recipes not typical of a burger joint.

OK if you are hungry; nothing special; slightly overpriced for quantity/quality/presentation. No complaints about the coconut shrimp(13) and breaded scallops(12) and the fries were good. The wahoo tacos(11 for 2) were made with frozen fish; i could tell… Two annoyances: the cashier/shift manager was a bit curious about personal information(where are you from, etc.) and the credit card machine makes you pick 15, 20 or 25% or no tip when paying, though this is a mostly take out and order at the register fast food place. One time deal for us!

Stopped here for lunch. Great food. Good service. Would eat here again. The fries are delicious nice and crispy on the outside and yet soft inside.

This is my go-to place in San Luis Obispo. You get what you pay for: go next door for a $ 2 taco and you’ll get absolute garbage. OR, stay in Lahaina’s and have two awesome fish tacos for $ 9 – 12. Sounds like a lot? The amount of fish on each taco will surprise you — and it is FRESH. Wahoo is really good — not always for everyone(if you like Mahi Mahi, shark or swordfish, you’ll love Wahoo). The burgers are messy, it’s a challenge to eat one without it falling apart; the regular cheeseburger is a bit pricey, but it is better than Franks Famous Hot Dog(also great burgers) — in fact, it is one of the better burgers in town. My favorite items are the Cajun Fish Wrap, the California Turkey Wrap, and the Tacos. Daily specials are often unique items, not normally on the menu(mushroom avocado chicken sandwich, barbacoa pork, various soups in winter, etc). One of my kids and my wife both love the Seared Ahi Salad($ 11 – 12) and it is VERY good and decently large(they rarely finish). The most popular item is the small Fish & Chips, and it is the best fish and chips in San Luis Obispo, period. Not cheap, but you get a decent amount of fresh, hand-battered fish. The owner, Marco, makes most everything from scratch(including the BBQ sauce which is really good). He is a trained chef and it clearly shows. Occasionally, there is a special dinner night(reservations for regulars, generally, but anyone can reserve in advance) where Marco prepares aged Prime Rib and one or two other very special culinary dishes. These nights are about $ 30 per person, wine and beer would add to that, of course. It is semi-formal, mostly casual, and I’ve never been disappointed. My family loves this place and I probably eat here too often to have a unbiased review, so take it with a grain of salt.

Delish! Love to come here for a quick and yummy meal. My favorite is the coconut shrimp hands down. Other delicious items on the menu fish and chips, Turkey wrap, burger, and you have to try the homemade sauces. They sell them but they don’t always have them in stock. My favorite is the pineapple habanero. The friendly staff is always willing to suggest something else good on the menu.

Among a younger demographic, the price was kind of a drawback. But you’re paying for a meal that’ll leave you full or with leftovers. The fish and chips were good.

I ordered a burger, I asked for No Mayo. The burger had Mayo on it. I asked them to remake it, they obliged, it still had mayo on it. At that point I had to ask for my money back. The staff was rude and did not pay attention.

My husband and I ate here for the first time last night. I had the coconut shrimp and chips, which was excellent. The coconut batter was perfect and the sauce was amazing. My husband had the large fish and chips and he said it was the best he’s ever had. I also loved their tartar sauce on my fries. Definitely a new favorite for us. Service was great and friendly. The prices on some meals seem a little high, but perfect for others. It depends on what you get.

Nothing worth going back for. C & I both got the«daily special” – fish tacos. They were okay, but certainly not special and they were over-priced.

I love this place! If I want fried seafood in San Luis Obispo, this is the only place I’ll go! My favorite is the scallops and chips. I’ve had it at least 4 times and every time they are perfectly cooked, so juicy! My boyfriend always gets fish and chips or fish tacos. The fish is always so well prepared and cooked. It’s breaded so the quality is much better. Both are delicious. Everything we’ve had is amazing, except for the fried shrimp, those were sub par compared to their other foods and not worth getting in my opinion. LOVE this place though.

Any burger over $ 8 better have a hand made patty. Sadly the $ 9 burger I got had a preformed frozen patty which was overcooked. Not planning to return.

Decent fish & chips, decent fish tacos, decent burgers, decent chowder… you get the idea. The owner is very involved and quite personable, the dining area is always well maintained and service is prompt and courteous. If you’re in the mood for a bite out that way, it’s a solid option.
