Overall good. Enchiladas are never perfect but never bad either, weird how they pull that one off but I always eat them. Super soft flour tortillas

The food was great — when we finally got it. Table of 5, mother’s day evening. Yes they were busy. The server had 4 tables. Took him 10 minutes to take our drink order, so we ordered our food at the same time. About 30 minutes later our food arrived — well everyone’s but mine. Server told me my order would be «right out». Nine minutes later it arrived very hot, sizzling on the plate(freshly cooked). My family was over half-way finished with their meals. Drinks didn’t get refilled until we stood up and beckoned him over. After the meal it took over 15 minutes for him to bring our check. Really sad, because I love the food and it’s in our neighborhood.

The food here is fantastic. Everyone is always friendly. Always wall to wall people. Love their Cactus Margarita! We don’t come very often, but we always remember it when we are in need of some good Mexican food.

Would not consider this«Mexican food» whatsoever. Got the seafood enchiladas and the white wine sauce looked more like canned gravy. Salsa could have been mistaken for pizza sauce as well. Would not try again.

Their ranchero chicken and ranchero steak are both amazing. Great fajitas and great borracho beans. They have the best raspberry margaritas and good happy hour. Service is normally good but sometimes it is really slow. Great for to go too. The queso with beef is good and so is the tortilla soup. I pretty much like everything I’ve ever tried here and I’ve eaten almost everything on their menu.

We were starving and tried this place for dinner. The place was packed so we thought it must be good. The atmosphere was loud as we were sitting next to a large birthday party. The service was slow and horrible. Waiter came to the table only twice. No drink refills plus the food was horrible. Bland enchiladas and rice. Beans tasted like they came out of a can. Prices were high for the small portions of crappy food. We will not be back. The worst place we have eaten since moving here.

Salsa was odd, no texture, like a spicy tomato paste. Seafood enchiladas would be much better if they seafood was served inside the tortilla, and when I asked for an apple juice I was told they don’t serve it, but it was on the menu. I’ve tried this place, but feel no need to go again, unless it was to try some margaritas, as that menu was extensive.

From California to Texas this is one of the best I’ve had. Meals sizes are more than enough.

For the northeast side of San Antonio, this is one of the better restaurants. It’s large which often times means no wait at peak dining hours. The service is always top notch here(fast and accurate) and the food is quite good as well. I highly recommend the chicken enchiladas verdes and the carne guisada. I will say that the restaurant is loud, primarily due to the concrete floors and types of chairs that get moved across it. If you’re in the northeast area, this is a good option for Tex-Mex.

I wish I could give this restaurant less than 1 star. It’s a disgrace to Mexican food! I don’t understand how I see cars there. I will recommend Los Generales though. Good food, good drinks. I loved their spinach enchiladas.

Note: Too wordy for ya? Scroll to the end for the«Bottom Line.» Let me start off by saying that I really wanted to like this place. It’s within a mile of my house, and I wanted it to be the kind of place that my boyfriend and I could meet up on a regular basis to indulge in happy hour or grab dinner when we didn’t feel like cooking. But sadly, it did not live up to expectations. We had lunch here on a weekday, so the first thing I noticed was the lack of a crowd.(Sometimes there is a line when we drive past on weekends.) The interior is quite nice, with lots of skylights so that the sunlight came in and filled the dining area. It’s a pleasant atmosphere. We both ordered house margaritas,(one frozen, one on the rocks), and I actually enjoyed the frozen one more than I expected to. It was better than the average frozen margarita. Unfortunately, that was pretty much where the positives ended. The chips and salsa were lousy. The salsa was a bland picante at best, and tasted more like marinara or ketchup. We ordered a cup of queso, and what they brought out can only be described as crappy canned cheese. Elegant description, I know, but it’s the truth. As for the chips, either the guy who usually makes them is on vacation, or they just always serve store-bought. Who knows? Our order arrived promptly. I had the chicken fajita salad, and my boyfriend had the puffy taco plate, both from the lunch menu. My salad was topped with a large sliced chicken breast, and I was impressed with the serving size. The crispy tortilla strips seemed to be house-made, but other than that, neither the chicken nor the salad itself had any particularly«Tex Mex» traits. The greens were fresh but not crisp, the tomatoes were soggy and terrible, and while I enjoy mushrooms in most any other context, they just didn’t fit here. Furthermore, the dressing choices were abysmal: They offered the standard ranch, italian, honey mustard, etc. but nothing that actually worked on what was supposed to be a fajita salad. My boyfriend said that there was nothing special about the puffy tacos, but did enjoy the rice. The barracho beans were probably the highlight of the meal. Overall, we were disappointed. The staff was friendly, but the food just fell flat. We would have even considered going back just for happy hour, had the chips and salsa been better. Alas, our search continues to find decent Mexican food in our neighborhood. Bottom Line: The food they serve here is probably perfect for the residents of the senior living facility next door. In fact, that’s most likely the only way they’ve stayed in business: The family comes to visit GramGram and don’t want to take her somewhere that will overwhelm her ancient GI tract. But for those of us under age 85, it’s not worth a visit.

I love my family, I really do. But sometimes I find myself wondering, what were they thinking. Once a week my family, aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents get together for a meal out. Unfortunately, for me my families idea of good food and mine differ greatly. On our last trip to Salsalitos, it was like the clouds parted and the light shone down upon me, because after I told my family to no avail, please lets go somewhere else the food here is bland, and I hear horror stories from former employees, my family members began to eat their meals and the disappointment on their face was obvious! Talk about uninspired, soulless food. I had the Salsalitos delight(I think thats what it was called) one enchilada, one beef taco, one tamale, rice and beans. If you’re the owner of Salsalitos reading this I just want to say that Tex-Mex is already poor people food. It’s made from inexpensive ingredients, and is hard to mess up, so there is no reason to go out of your way to make it more cheap, the size of the tamales served at my table was laughable. I came hungry, but after a few bites I was happy the portions were so small, because that meant I wouldn’t have to eat too much of this incredibly bland food. After eating about half of my plate I realized the best part of the meal was the Queso we shared before ordering. Melted Cheese, with chips is better than your entrees. Come On MAN! Step it up! People on the North side need good food too. Stop depriving them.
