I hate that my husband and I came across this place while on our way to the gym, we had to roll ourselves into the gym after the delicious breakfast. It’s a little hole in the wall place, everyone is really friendly and polite. The corn tortillas are amazing — highly recommend!

I’m loco for Los Arcos! This amazing little taqeria is a hole-in-the-wall in a weirdly constructed strip shopping center on the side of a hill. They do booming takeout business. We had to wait an inordinate amount of time to get our tacos. It seems that someone had called in a huge order for pickup, and it backed up the kitchen. We watched one guy impatiently wait about 15 min for his food. He seemed grumpy about it. The food was delicious, and completely worth the wait. The tortillas were piping hot, fluffy, and freshly made. There’s a Mexican bakery two doors down… The fillings were muy gigante, and the salsa was delicioso! The Picadilla sope is where it’s at. It’s like a gordita. A flat fried tortilla, covered in meat, veggies and sour cream. Incredible. The service was decent, considering how small the place is. It gets rather cramped in here– next time I come by, I’m getting takeout. The prices here are quite reasonable.

We ordered breakfast tacos to-go this morning and they were delicious. We ordered plain bean tacos, bean and cheese tacos, potato and egg tacos, bean and chorizo tacos, and country sausage and egg tacos. All of the tacos we ordered were 99 cents. I especially liked the flour tortillas. My daughter wanted more and my parents wanted to know the location of the restaurant so they could go back. If you do go, just know that the restaurant is pretty small. There are only 7 tables. We will definitely be going back.

Everything there is good. Made by a real Mexican grandma. Prices are very reasonable. I like their breakfast, enchiladas, creamy refried beans, homemade tortillas, sopes, and homemade Barbacoa and tamales.

I don’t want the secret to get out but I have to do the right thing and write this review. This place by far makes the best breakfast tacos I’ve ever had in my life! I’ve lived in Houston, Austin, San Marcos, Corpus Christi and now San Antonio — hands down the BESTBREAKFASTTACOS! My husband and I really lucked out because we live close to this place. We’ve tried others in the area, there are many to choose from but this place is by far the best. Their red sauce is amazing! As well as the green sauce and red salsa. The guacamole is super fresh and chunky with jalapeños. They make their corn chips FRESH! Their sopes are delicious. The pastor meat is great. I think our favorites are the potato egg and cheese tacos and bean and cheese tacos. You can’t go wrong with anything you get. This is authentic, fresh Mexican food at an affordable price!

I’m in lovelovelove with this spot. Julie G introduced us, and it’s been love ever since. This is tasty, home-cooked Mexican goodness. The place is tiny, which means sometimes you have to wait for a table, but usually not long. Some other sated soul is sure to be on the way soon, clearing you a spot. You may have to linger and enjoy your company while you wait for for your food, but there’s quality here. Not ‘high-end’ quality, but quality in the everyday. If you need fast, this probably isn’t the right place for the moment — or maybe call it in. Julie and Emmy made sure I knew to get the sope, which has become one of my staples: I usually get a picadillo sope, a chilaquiles taco(with cheese; on flour), and a bean and cheese taco(on corn). I choose to ‘pair’ a [plastic bottle of] big red. This combo ‘brunch’ never fails to put me on the good foot for the day. Caution: the red sauce maybe has more bite than the green — test before you pour if you’ve got a threshold.

My wife and I were looking for a Mexican food place that sticks out from the norm. I think we found it! Ordered mini barbacoa plates and chips with the guacamole dip. Both were outstanding and a must try! We will be regulars now!

This was one of the most authentic Mexican joints tasted. Not Tex Mex, thank God, but queso fresco topped goodness, not that yellow melted crap on your American nachos. There are only 7 tables here and they were all full about 1pm. The lady at the register was super nice. I sampled the red and green hot sauces on the table, and they were both super hot, but the green was manageable. The audience in here was super authentico(get it?) I tried the piccadillo sope, which I took to go since just 10 minutes before, I ate lunch at the Dresden Café, and these businesses are close to each other. On a subsequent visit, I finally tried the fried tripas taco(think fried livers or in the South fried chitlins, which is intestines). They gave me crispy, but I didn’t like this. Make sure you don’t ask for crispy just regular fried. I highly recommend if you love true Mexican food, come here, run here, crawl if you need to… eats: — piccadillo sope: thick freshly made corn sope, which is like a corn cake or fritter or the size of like 6 corn tortillas on top of each other for reference. Then atop that wonderful corn is the most flavorful ground beef I have ever tasted, and the particle size was almost like sand. What a wonderful mouth feel to it. Then lettuce and tomato, and finally queso fresco. Yes, the real thing. crumbs: — Mexican sodas — don’t know about credit cards — Mexican aqua frescas

This place serves the best Authentic Mexican food in San Antonio. Every time i travel to SA from Chicago I have to stop there and eat. I’ve had several dishes and all have been great. I highly recommend the tacos, they are made with homemade tortillas. This place is also super clean and kid friendly with great service.

I’ve passed by Taqueria Los Arcos so many times on my way to Choco Pastisserie — which used to be my favorite cupcake place when Lynn & Lauren owned it. They left in November 2013 :(Now someone else owns it and it does not seem to be doing well. But anywhoo… back to Taqueria Los Arcos… My Unilocal buddy, Julie G., did us all a solid by reconning the 3 food places in Ying King Center: Taqueria Los Arcos, Peng & Po Thai Chinese Cuisine, & Las Palmas Bakery. After seeing all of her photos and reading her reviews, I knew I had to come here and hit up all 3 places… and yes, all at once. Save on gas money so that I’ll have more to spend on food. Makes sense, right? Taqueria Los Arcos was stop #1. My husband & I ordered the picadillo & papas sope, al pastor sope, and tripas taco(on corn). Everything was so tasty… especially the picadillo. I want picadillo every which way now… in a taco, in a burrito… by itself. So yum! Can’t wait to come back to try their menudo and barbacoa. I just wish this place had a salsa bar. I like hot carrots, extra jalapenos, extra onions and cilantro, etc. Maybe they have those in the back & will give me some if I ask??? Next time… because there will definitely be a next time! Thanks for letting us know about this place, Julie! Now on to stop #2 — Peng & Po…

San Antonio’s best kept secret! I have been struggling for months on writing this review, the food is unlike any traditional Mexican food. Honestly, I really just didn’t want to let the cat out tha bag, I want Taqueria Los Arcos to be for me and only me! The place has 7 tables, I can’t imagine walking in my favorite restaurant and having to wait for a table. You can easily pass this nice hidden gem on Nacogdoches, look closely, it glows! We frequent Los Arcos for breakfast and we’ve just now started going for lunch, everything is unbelievably good! Los Arcos is a beautifully family owned restaurant, with the mom, brother, and sister making amazing food in the kitchen while the lovely Jessica and Jeanette wait on everyone in the dining area. Thus far, I’ve brought my Father, who is a very good judge of Mexican food, and he cleaned all of his plates while Mom obsesses over the food. The FOOD: Basic breakfast tacos are 99 cents! The tacos are small in size so don’t feel guilty about ordering three, I do it all the time. *beans are moan worthy *they make their own perfectly shaped flour and corn tortillas, they really make the taco *picadillo has papas, when a place has good picadillo I know their gorditas are going to be exceptional *the breakfast plates are fantastic and the eggs are perfectly made *the MENUDO has the right amount of everything and the broth is fantastic *PLEASE get a barbacoa taco(on corn), they’re not greasy at all and the great flavor makes you forget that you’re consuming cow tongue *they mix the bacon and egg(my style) *gorditas are perfection, since I’ve been getting them none have every broken apart from sogginess, every bite is bliss *try a picadillo SOPE, it’s similar to a gordita but more like a soft chalupa with lots of yummy toppings *the chicken in green salsa tamales are BOMB(they can customize tamale orders, I’ll be getting bean tamales soon) *the enchiladas verdes are made with a jalapeño sauce, they’re hot but a new favorite The family deserves all the success, thank you Los Arcos for sharing your culinary greatness with us San Antonians! Try it, you’ll love it!

This is just what San Antonio needed. Authentic Mexican food that doesn’t put a hurt on your wallet. I went in with my buddy for lunch I had a sope de alpastor and a gordita de chicharron en salsa verde. Great flavors tasted authentic and home made, meat was well seasoned and the gordita and sope were not frozen big plus on my book. My buddy had the chicken flauta lunch special. He scarfed them right down, quickly gave them 2 thumbs up. Overall, great food, good service, and great prices, easy to find so hurry up and check it out!
