Best pizza in the area. Once you eat here you can’t go back to pizza fuck, domihoes, or poopoo juans. It’s a little pricey compared to the previously mentioned but we’ll worth it. Hmmmm pizza

Read a lot of good reviews and so I bought a groupon that came with 2 one topping pizzas. Ordered a ham and pepperoni one to go. Nothing special about it at all. When I ordered the second one a couple of weeks later, my teenage son said — «you got this again?» Maybe all of the positive reviews were from dine in orders. Not sure what the problems were with my pizzas, but wouldn’t order it again.

Good crust, a smidge over cooked, reasonably priced pizza, and solid service. Was not a big fan of the spinach Alfredo pizza, but the regular cheese pizza and alien fingers were very good.

A friend told us about this place and we finally decided to do the drive and go. I’m so glad we did. It is not a super fancy place, but I think it’s probably geared towards families with kids. Don’t let that deter you from trying it. We tried quite a few things. We didn’t mind getting so much because there were 6 of us. I didn’t care for the mozzarella sticks. They weren’t terrible, just not worth ordering again. The garlic bread was ok. The Italian cheese bread was awesome! The pizza was very flavorful and cooked to perfection. A nice little surprise was they offered funnel cake fries. Seriously… try those even if you feel full. Sooo good! The person waiting on us did a very good job of taking care of, but wasn’t very friendly. It didn’t make for a bad night though. She was probably just tired.

Excellent pizza! This place has it all. Unfortunately I’ve been to other places, including a few chain pizza restaurants, and had to suffer through ordinary pizza. But since we found Maar’s we’ve never gone back to ordinary. Lots of choices and delicious food. You will not be disappointed here.

This is still outstanding pizza, and I finally had a chance to eat at the restaurant. It’s a very good-sized place, with lots of tables and an additional party space in the back. A bar with a good-sized beer menu winds along the walls on one side of the restaurant.(I hadn’t heard of it before and didn’t get to try one this time, but«Rhumbero» cocktails seem to be a unique, to me, specialty of theirs.) It’s generally dark but not too much so – it fits with the space/alien theme, but there’s still plenty of light by which to read the menus and such. The walls sport fun, alien-themed murals, and there’s a small counter selling(I think) space-related kitsch. Several large, flatscreen TVs are on the walls. And did I mention again the amazing, flavorful pizza?! Soooo good! The menu has lots of pasta options also. The staff is warm and friendly.

Delicious, thick, big and full of flavor. This can clearly compete as some of the best pizza in San Antonio. They have quite a few quirky toppings such as jalapeño juice…

Tried to order off of the multiple drink menus and the waitress said they don’t have a liquor license so they make their margaritas with wine. What?! Just say it’s beer and wine only and get rid of the menu. And definitely don’t tell me you don’t have a liquor license, that is sketchy. I no longer trust this place. Plus the food is waaaay too greasy– wings, fried pickles, pizza, everything drenched in grease.

I’m a big fan of their pizza and wings. Have tried a few of their subs which were good but not that impressive. My family has never eaten in the restaurant we’ve always done takeout and any time we’ve ordered its been ready promptly when they say it will be and always makes at home hot and delicious.

It’s a solid place for pizza at a reasonable price. Casual setting, friendly staff. It was our 1st time there, and we will definitely be back.

What a pleasant surprise this place turned out to be. Non-pretenscious little place that we passed by many times in the past, only stopping this time because a friend recommended it. It’s in a strip mall with plenty of parking. When you walk inside, it is blue-collar-funky and dingy… but crowded. The menu is huge with everything from Pizza to hot dogs and the best calamari in San Antonio, I swear. You can order pizza any size from 8 to 28 inches with any number of toppings. Drinks very reasonable. There were six of us with drinks, appetizers and a 28 inch pizza three toppings, this came to around $ 40 plus tip. The pizza was as good as pizza gets really lots of pepperoni. Not only do I recommend Maar’s, but we plan on making this one of our regular stops.

Stopped by on a whim on my lunch break so this was my first time here. Definitely will be coming back! The pizza was hot and fresh and my Strawberry Piña Colada was amazing! I love family owned restaurants with an original menu and this place did not disappoint. And you can’t beat the prices! Cheaper and tastes way better than Pizza Hut!

Hadn’t been in a while and was tired of Pizza Hut and Domino’s so decided to give Maars a try and I’m glad I did. The pepperoni pizza was fabulous and the Michelob Ultra on draft hit the spot! Waitress was great oh and don’t forget the fried pickles yum yum!

Eh. We went on a Saturday night and there were about 3 other tables occupied. Still, it took about 40 minutes to get our medium pizza. Once it arrived, all the suspense sort of felt unwarranted. Nothing«out of this world.» The flavor just packed zero punch, the sauce unmemorable. We ordered beef and mushroom. Pizzerias are already up there on price, and if I had to choose between this again versus Dominos, I would pick the latter.

Maar’s has perfected the art of perfectly broiled bubbling cheese on their pizzas, something a lot of other places lack. The vibe is a little divey, but the service is incredibly friendly and the pizza is fantastic. I recommend the supreme, the brisket or even just pepperoni. It is on the greasier side, the way that pizza should be, but the crust balances out the grease perfectly. Their salads aren’t anything to write home about, but that’s never why we go.

We went here after our son’s Air Force BMT graduation. Our waiter congratulated him and thanked him for his service, which was very nice. We had the fried green beans and calimari for appitizers. Both were very good. We orders two 20′ pizzas, and our waiter warned us that was probably too much for the five of us. He wasn’t kidding. They were huge. We ate about ¾ total of one of them and it took 2 large boxes to take the balance home. The crust was perfect. Thin and crispy along the edges. Plentiful toppings. I would highly recommend. This great establishment offers a discount to military personnel. The next time we are in San Antonio, we will definitely return. I wish I could remember our waiters name. He said he himself was planning on joining the Air Force. I wish him well.

If you want an idea of how big the pizzas are here, I’ll offer one that should help: novelty-sized. When you order the second-largest pizza to go, and you end up with something that barely fits through the door and you have trouble getting into the car, you know you’ve got a huge pizza. It still boggles my mind that they actually have one that’s bigger, too! Now let’s talk quality. This is a pretty good pizza. Not amazing, but good. The crust is tasty, but doesn’t stand up to reheating like other pizzas I’ve had. The toppings are nice and fresh, but the green olives they put on everything are a little odd. I’ll likely be removing them from future pizzas, as they just don’t taste right on there. The sauce is good, but I’d like a lot more of it. But really, I’m nitpicking. It’s pretty good, and the value is outstanding. We ate pizza for a week after getting one pie. I’d love to see more options on the menu though. More signature items. But I will be back, and maybe I’ll discover something more unique.
