This is my first visit and I have to say that the food is amazing. I had the shrimp platter, and the grilled shrimp, coconut shrimp, and fried shrimp were all unbelievably awesome. I can’t say enough good things about this seafood. I had a side order of macaroni and cheese, and it was just like my mom used to make. Simply epic. I’d give this place six stars if I could.

The food is great and the staff is always wonderful. The only downside is the clam chowder. Ordered it twice now and it was lacking get both times. Everything else is perfect.

This was conveniently located near my hotel! In a span of 4 days I came hear twice. Being from south Florida I was pleasantly surprised to find a place that has some fish fry among other things. The shrimp tacos are great! Also every time I go I also get a bowl of clam chowder! Good and fast, I would recommend it for a fast food meal

Went to get a shrimp salad, as I was in the drive thru I realized it was probably going to be same nasty lettuce as bill millers. Could not get out of the line so I ordered. Almost 7 min for the order to come out welted lettuce 4 shrimps only and they sliced them in half to make it seem like more(4small shrimp) and it was $ 7 for poop Bill millers and this place are getting to expensive

The food here is mediocre. It’s not anything to get excited about, but it’s not the worst I’ve had either. I took my food to go and realized they don’t specialize in packing food to go. My fish tacos were on a paper plate wrapped in foil. The corn tortillas promptly fell apart at first bite, but I managed to hold it together enough to get it down. I also had the seasoned rice. The Dutch Apple pie(also on a paper plate wrapped in foil) was interesting. The apples weren’t as easy to cut into as I like my apple pie, but I picked around them and it was ok.

I had the cod and shrimp plate, which was just okay. Not great… not awful. The hush puppies were not cooked well, they should be crispy on the outside. The cole slaw was pretty good. Would I go back? Maybe. I might give the fish tacos a try.

This is not the place to order from if you are ordering for a large family or an office with multiple orders. They do not provide you with napkins, utensils, or condiments even after we requested such. Please if you decide to order from here, check your order! They have left out an entire order multiple times. Being busy has been their excuse to such mistakes. The food was excellent this past week when we ordered, as long as you don’t mind nibbling off your friends, as we were short an entire order.

The fish tacos were good, but my order was wrong three times. I mean I’m pretty passive but After two it’s kinda not cool.

This is a place my co workers and I love to eat at… until today’s experience. We teach at a nearby school, and Friday lunch is a special treat for us. We have to call in our order. Today when calling in our order, it was taken by the manager. Isn’t a manager supposed to be the example for their company? When placing our order, the manager was not nice when we stated we wanted to place separate orders, then proceeded to ask if we knew what season we were in.(Which is lent). I get that Lent is a busy time for seafood restaurants but, don’t you want our business? Our order was placed, and then later picked up. On our arrival to pick up the food, even the workers behind the counter were not polite. When we got our food, our food was all complete, but not our drinks, and usually we have extra tartar sauce, ketchup, napkins, etc, none of that was included. Many of us ordered sandwiches and the lettuce and tomato were not appealing. I know that this is a sister company of Bill Millers, and this is a company that has high standards for its employees and especially management. I do not feel that the standards they are held to were exhibited today.

Tried this place for the first time yesterday. It was ok. The shrimp had a funny taste. Hushpuppies and fries were pretty good. A little expensive… doesn’t beat Captain D’s at all.

For a late lunch I decided to finally give this relatively new location a try. I have not been to another Laguna Madre before. The lunch specials are until 4pm so I had the fish sandwich with fries and iced tea. The sandwich was definitely on the small side of what I was expecting, almost hoagie shaped. There were two different types of lettuce on each side of the halved sandwich. The fish was hard to detect, as in it was very small, and had very little flavor. The worst part is that the bun was hardened to a point where it was not satisfying to chew. The cheese was shredded and sprinkled on the bottom … again, no flavor to be detected. Basically, it was a tough, over cooked bun with lettuce, tomato, and tartar sauce with a hint of fishy taste. The fries were good but not good enough to make me want to finish them all. The tea, supposedly the same as Bill Millers tea, was like ice water … no flavor of tea. Next time I will drive to Sea Island.

Finally had the opportunity to try Bill Miller’s Laguna Madre. There is not one on the far NW part of SA, but since we were near downtown for my daughters’ dance recital, we gave it a try. About what you’d expect… very reasonable prices, fresh and hot/tasty food, disposable plates/forks/etc. The fried shrimp were the best… hot, crunchy, flavorful… fries and green beans are like the BBQ place. Quite similar to Sea Island, which is a good thing. Much like the Barnacle Bill’s(if you remember that place) from the late ‘90s-early 2000s. Pleasant experience except for the other customers… one guy is wearing a shirt with the word«F**K» prominently displayed in all caps… I don’t get it… maybe I’m just too old to think that is funny or cool anymore. I was doing what I could to avert my 8 yr old daughter’s attention from this guy 5 feet from us. But the food was great… not much you can do about idiots around you.

Drive through fish taco was very good ! love that it is Cod fish. A good taco better than over priced fish tacos made with Tilapia from China you see all over town.

I ordered some dinner to-go for my family earlier this week and everything was just okay in my opinion. The restaurant is very casual; you walk up to the counter and order from the big billboard. The set up is just like Bill Miller except with a fishing theme(self serve condiments and you pick up your order from the counter when your number is called). My parents really like the grilled cod and the green beans(same recipe as Bill MIller). I ordered the shrimp platter and all of the shrimp had good flavor. My boyfriend had the chicken fried steak — he said it was good. What I liked most about this restaurant was the price! Only $ 36 for all of us!

Generous portions. Fried cod and shrimp were yummy. I was hoping for it to taste like Barnacle Bill’s but it doesn’t. :(

If you like you seafood fried, the Bill Miller presents, Laguna Madre Seafood Company. Yep, this is a Bill Miller restaurant and it serves up your typical fried seafood delicacies from cod to shrimp. Add to that your typical seafood fry staples such as clam chowder, gumbo, fries, and slaw, and you really got something. I had the cod and shrimp lunch special(1 piece of cod, 6 fried shrimp, a piece of toast, French fries, and cole slaw) for $ 7.75. The cod was as cod should be, fresh and clean. They fried it up at the proper temperature which allows for that golden amber color without too much oil retention. The same can be said for the shrimp although they were only slightly battered. The shrimp had a mildly off odor to them that comes fro not rinsing them properly. Other than that, they were pretty good. The toast was fine with just a tad a butter but the slaw took the prize. It was a creamy slaw but not to the point of being liquidy. It wasn’t at all bitter from too much lemon juice that some people tend to overuse. It was just the right taste for me. I also tried the gumbo. This must be their own recipe as it was very non traditional. The gumbo I have eaten was thick with lots of rice in it. This gumbo was more liquid and with less of a spicy bite. It wasn’t bad, just unlike any I have had before. There were plenty of good shrimp in this gumbo as well as okra. The restaurant is clean(new) and is staffed by yutes. I prefer this because I believe fast food restaurant workers should not make this their first and last job. This is a job for kids living at home and going to high school… Anyway, just my opinion. If you are into the fried seafood scene, I would recommend this place over Long John Silvers. However, with Rudy’s just across the street…

I like it here. Service is top notch and seafood very good even when fried. Not too expensive either. Second trip not good at all. The food tasted frozen and watery.

This is a new location that opened up just a few days ago. I wanted to try something I hadn’t been to before so I went. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. I ordered the Fried Fish(cod). It came out rather quickly which made me wonder if it had been sitting there. When I went to eat it, I knew it wasn’t fresh out the fryer, the fish was rubbery and the batter was soggy. I would have given this a one start but I gave this 2 stars because the staff was so nice and friendly.
