8 of us showed up for a bachelor party brunch. Adam the GM took care of us and gave us a historical run-down of the building and business. Definitely recommend this spot for groups. Great location in the French Quarter. PS– did we mention bottomless mimosas?

So pleasantly surprised! The jambalaya was just perfectly spicy. The waiter, Christian recommended the local beer, Abita and foods. He was spot on. My husband had the shrimp and grits. Really good. Talented Live music… New Orleans style. Great experience.

The menu on Unilocal is incorrect. They have new owners and a limited brunch menu consisting of four eggs Benedict dishes, a few lunch items and chicken and waffles. I ordered the chicken and waffles. It was presented beautifully but they used low quality ingredients. The Waffle was cold and rubbery, chicken dry and tough, bacon was fatty and paper thin. After food was delivered, we didn’t see the waiter for 20 min. Wish it tasted as good as it looked. The manager did make it right in the end. Good live music

Great live music but… The food is not worth the price. Bacon Bloody Mary was over peppered, chicken and waffle is expensive($ 16) for a bland chicken breast, cheap bacon and an okay waffle. Gave another star because the manager made it right.

Soggy french fries, stale bread and slow drinks. My biggest concern is that in three hours I’ll be vomiting from food poisoning. The adjacent table literally got up and walked out. The waiter seemed to be so aware of how terrible the experience was, when he asked how our food was and we said the chicken was burned he looked relieved.

We stumbled upon a crawfish boil here this evening– what luck!!! The crawfish far surpassed any others that we had by far! The owner and all the staff were extremely friendly. Delicious food combined with live music and a great ambiance– what more can you ask for?

Went there for Easter brunch. Limited choices. Food was okay. Service needs improvements.

This is the worst brunch experience I’ve ever had. Hands down. The waiter was clearly new and inexperienced and should not have been assigned to our table of 12. At one point the waiter said«I’m sorry I’m not very good at this». The bread for the table was«toasted», meaning that it was hard, crunchy, crumbly, and completely inedible. The bruschetta was another piece of terrible toasted bread with shredded mozzarella clearly from a bag. It was also done as caprese style as the tomato was whole and not chopped. When the food came out, it was lukewarm at best. Most of the food had an element that was incorrect(sauce not on side, steak at incorrect temp). And to top it off, the bathroom was gross. You couldn’t pay me to come back here.

We went there for dinner during the 3⁄11 St. Patrick’s day parade because we wanted a table on the balcony. The menu had 2 or 3 entrees and about the same number of specials. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer. For dinner my wife ordered the pork tenderloin and I ordered the jambalaya. After we were seated on the balcony, and placed our orders, the host continued to pack the balcony with drinking parade watchers, who took over our table and the space around our table. This all would have been fine had they warned us ahead of time that our dining area would soon turn in to a party spot. However we were not warned and we had to move ourselves inside to a different table. Once inside our appetizer arrived. We ordered the calamari. We were served a greasy body stuffed whole that quickly lost its breading. The dish lacked any flavor. Our server never checked on us and was difficult to find, even though we were the only diners inside the restaurant. Finally came the entrée. Singular. My wife received what she ordered, the grilled pork. I received nothing. Thinking my dish was on its way out, we waited. And waited. Finally after searching for our waiter and finding him on the balcony smoking and watching the parade, he blamed my lack of food on a «glitch in their new system». It was obvious he didn’t put my order in at all. How the server could have brought out only one entrée for a party of two and not realized something was missing is a mystery. No one offered to rectify the situation. The host said he was only the host and it wasn’t his problem. Overall, terrible service and bland food, assuming you’re served any at all. Steer clear of this place!

We waited over an hour for our food(pasta and a salad) while other tables around us got served. There was minimal concern that we waited so long. Needless to say, I won’t be back.

HUGETHANKS to Sbisa’s and Annikia for catering the Royalty Dinner for our Mardi Gras Krewe, the Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus. Annikia helped make a memorable night by serving up food fit for a King. Thank You, Keith Greene King of Chewbacchus 2016

Stumbled in while walking by with friends on a warm afternoon. $ 5 happy hour mojitos and hurricanes were decent, and the tender was friendly. I’d stop in again.

Excellent service! Great jazz sunday brunch. Food was good. The waitress was very kind to have us made an omelet out the menu. Brunch menu is a too short list. They should add more delicious dishes.

This stop was Drinks and Jazz Only. We stopped by in the middle of day for a drink in the shade. Fresh Bloody Mary with beans, celery and bacon. It did not disappoint. When we arrived there was a four piece jazz/swing quartet in full swing. They were fantastic. Beautiful décor and friendly bar staff. Great place to duck in and rest after perusing the French Quarter market.

Friendly bartender, great music and nice ambiance! I was walking around the French Quarter when I heard a jazz band playing here. They sounded great so I decided to check it out. The bar has a lot of old woodwork and a welcoming feel. There is a second floor set of tables that is opened up and looks down on the first floor and where bands play. There is also a back room, so lots of people could meet here for a party. The place was mixed with locals and tourists. The bartender Cory was very knowledgeable and on point with keeping on top of drinks for everyone. Unfortunately he was the only one there with a couple runners for the kitchen, so several people I noticed waited by the door to be seated but left. They have some bourbon infusions on the bar. Try those! I can’t say anything about the food, though they did serve late. Next time I go I’ll try that. ;-)

Salt. So. Much. Salt. The first red flag should have been how slow this place was on what was a busy night for nearly every other restaurant at which we attempted to eat. Other places had wait times ranging from 15 – 45 minutes; this place had exactly one table occupied and three people at the bar. For the third oldest eatery in NOLA, that shouldn’t be happening. Our waiter was a weird dude, straight up. I can’t properly put it into words; the guy just had an odd vibe about him. We ordered drinks and they came up quickly enough. This was the only time the service was acceptable. After disappearing for way longer than he should have, our waiter emerged to take our food orders. Nobody ordered the same thing. This normally wouldn’t be noteworthy, but it’s important here. The food took FOREVER to arrive. Fucking forever. Keep in mind, there is NOONE else eating in here by now, just our table of six. I understand it takes time to cook six meals, but longer than thirty minutes? Gimme a break. Finally! Everything has arrived. And it all tastes like fucking salt. My steak, which was an absurd $ 35, is like a horse’s salt lick. My uncle’s shrimp and grits is so salty he had to bow out after one bite. Every. Single. Item. we ordered tastes like it took a dip in a box of Morton’s before hitting the plate. And, of course, our waiter has vanished, probably gleefully grinning in back at the thought of getting an automatic gratuity because we were a large party. He finally came back and we told him our issues with the meal, and he offered up the standard apologies and not much else. He also added things onto our bill we never ordered, and we had to wait even longer for him to correct it. You’d think such a storied, historic restaurant would take more pride in the quality of their food. No wonder it’s a ghost town in here.

We walked by Sbisa’s on our way back from Frenchman and heard amazing music floating into the street — peeking in we saw a couple swing dancing in a packed room! Swing dance being my weakness we stayed and watched for a few minutes, and vowed to come back. We stopped in on our way back from Frenchman again, and this time we stopped in. The servers were friendly, although it took quite a long time to get served despite the place being quite empty(it was the day after Halloween… I get it!) Our server/bartender brought our drinks over and clearly had a lot of love for his craft. We talked for a little while and he explained the process of infusing lavender into my drink, which was very interesting. The band was amazing, but the bar’s atmosphere was a bit lacking. Perhaps because it was so quiet, but everything felt a little… hungover? There was a big group of people in costume upstairs who were making merry, but everyone downstairs seemed to be subdued groups of young tourists. I suppose I should expect that in the French Quarter, but Sbisa’s has so much potential to be a fun, vibrant, classy spot that I was a little disappointed — especially after the previous night’s revelry! As I said, it was the night after Hallowe’en, so I’m more than happy to give this spot another chance on a busier night!

I realize most of the 5 star reviews only drank at the bar or came for brunch. Came here with a party of 6 on a Sunday night because we couldn’t get in anywhere else without a ridiculous wait time, that alone should have been telling. For being so empty, I have no idea why our waiter sucked so hard. Couldn’t keep our water glasses full, and never asked me if I wanted another sangria that I sucked down because I was so thirsty due to my empty water glass. I would have said yes had he ever asked, I shouldn’t have to tell him how to do his job. Our food came out at weird times, and was SOSALTY!!! I am a smoker, so my taste buds suck, and if it’s salty to me and the other smoker, I can’t even imagine how salty it was to everyone else. May I also add that the bathroom smells like a barn? Not just like a stinky, unclean bathroom, straight up smells like horse shit. The automatic soap dispenser didn’t even work. Everything about this place was annoying. Our waiter was lucky a 20% gratuity was automatically added on, he was no way deserving of that, 10% maybe.

Cute place to stop in for a drink and listen to live music. We were walking to dinner on a Saturday night and chose to stop in here as the other bars nearby seemed a little divey. We ordered a Pimms Cup at the bar. The bartender was very nice, the drink good and the music fantastic. I loved the long beautiful wood bar along with the painting above. It was perfect for what we wanted that night. It is actually a lot bigger that just the downstairs, as the bathroom is located on the second floor of this super old building, I was able to explore a little more which was cool.

Stopped in for pre-dinner cocktails and appetizers on our first night, and we were so pleasantly surprised to find a warm, seductive environment with truly delicious cocktails, probably the best we had on the trip. True mixology going on. They also let us roam their«haunted» rooms upstairs, which were indeed spooky. Maybe it’s poppycock on my part but I did feel the weight of the nearly 200 years of spirits who have passed through here. Don’t be scared, though, I think they’re friendly.

This review is really in reference to their brunch since that’s the only time I’ve eaten there. The live piano is great although maybe they only do that for brunch. The ambiance has a playful sort of old timey New Orleans, swanky, speakeasy, kind of feel. Eccentric art décor but with a casual dining experience. The $ 15 bottomless champagne/mimosas is what really makes this place a perfect brunch paradise. But not to neglect the exceptional food of course! Creole brunch is a New Orleans passion and they definitely do it well at Sbisa’s. Traditional eggs benedict, eggs pontchatrain, duck and waffles, shrimp and grits, etc., it’s all there as well as a few original touches like the Eggs Sbisa. The only minor complaint I’ve ever had about this place is that sometimes when I get a bowl or cup of gumbo it comes out a little less than lukewarm instead of actually hot. But that’s about it. And it’s a pretty forgivable complaint really. If your ATALL a Bloody Mary fan you MUST get the BLT Bloody Mary here!!! It comes with lots of yummy treats(including bacon) and you will not be disappointed!!! See you at Sunday Brunch-day ;-)
