Service is great. PO Boy just average until they suggested what seemed like a special olive oil that made it excellent. I highly recommend.

Service was good but food terrible, cold and overpriced. First time in NOLA/French Quarter. Ordered shrimp po’boy and New Orleans sampler plate. Sandwich served cold, no sauce, and requested chips forgotten and substituted with fries. $ 17 way too much for this choice. Sampler plate was good but also overpriced at $ 21 for the amount in each little cup. Overall unimpressed.

This place is OK. This was our first stop after driving from FL and we were really hungry lol we just wanted something quick to eat and research places to go. This place is over priced for what they are offering. I got the Greek salad first off it was just a plain garden salad with a block of feta. Then they brought me out honey mustard sauce with it. The salad wasn’t Greek at all didn’t even have tzatziki on it so… fail. They did have an all you can eat breakfast bar at the same time for $ 10 which isn’t bad. I didn’t get it though because it was 1130 my boyfriend go it though. He got two full plates. So it’s worth it for that. Again don’t come here looking for anything special. To me it’s overpriced.

3 stars is about right, its an interesting location to people watch but its somewhat expensive for its quality. Waitress was attentive. This is for me a generic coffee place, nothing special.

The Pasta Marina is so good that we had to go back for more. now mind you we live in California and traveled back to New Orleans to enjoy this dish again. I will return again to enjoy this restaurants excellent food offerings. Simply the best food and friendly staff. If ever in New Orleans do yourself the favor of eating at this restaurant. you wont be disappointed.

Shared the crawfish poboy with the husband. This was my first food stop in NOLA and I have to say it wasn’t particularly remarkable or unique. The crawfish were very oily and was mostly batter. Bread was pretty good, as were the fries. I just didn’t think the sandwich was very unique. I could have gotten the same thing back in CA. Service was friendly and fairly speedy. The night I went there was a jazz band playing so that was pretty cool. There was a nice view of the french quarter and there’s an outdoor area so you can hang out with your dog. Good place to bring friends and they had a pretty big menu but it looked like most things were fried.

Three whole stars for location. good for people watching & resting your feet when you’ve been shopping. Music starts at 10am, which is good. I’ve never eaten here. I don’t care for their menu. It’s one of THEMOST touristy places, but you’re on Decatur, after all. I can always get a table which is a huge plus, because I only go here when I need a break from walking around. I’ve had a few of their drinks and they are just, ok; but I hold nola up to a higher standard in adult beverages. I always order a hurricane. It’s a safe choice.

Sat down to rest our feet and wanted to sit outside. Positives: A large patio, live music Negatives: Food didn’t look that great(we didn’t order any), only sugary alcoholic drinks on the menu, tables and chairs had to be cleaned again before we sat down

Today I was in the city early so I made my way here and was pleasantly pleased to find The Market Café serving breakfast. I had the buffet which was a very solid offering. I came back for lunch on my way back to my Kenner hotel. My server Christin was just awesome. Efficient, attentive, and very personable. I had the shrimp poboy which was another solid offering. Don’t forget that The Market Café features a great live jazz band rhat serenades you while you eat. The band plays for tips so please be generous when it comes to TIP time.

Stopped in for drinks, to cool off and to enjoy the music. The waitress was a bitch. The place was empty so we weren’t taking away from her tips. We thought it was us, but she was standoffish and rude to all her patrons. The food didn’t look that special. l and breakfast buffet for $ 10.99 was fair from extraordinary.

I enjoyed the Market Café, but I thought the place next door was a bit better to the degree that it warranted a lower score. I went with the taste of New Orleans, which is a cup each of gumbo, shrimp creole, red beans and rice and jambalaya. It was very filling but somehow $ 20 seemed a bit pricey; though individually the cups are in the area of $ 6 – 7 so in those terms I guess it was a bargain. The gumbo and shrimp creole were the better of the two while the rice and beans and jambalaya seemed a little flat to me. The service was a little slow for a not too busy time but the waitress was very friendly which made it more bearable. The band was talented and made the overall experience worth it.

First we were sat immediately, yassss!!! The food was very good, alligator sausage was awesome(it came with grilled onions and peppers) I got the shrimp and oyster poboy which was very good(came with a side of French fries which were seasoned and yummy). The ambiance was great, nice open patios are a choice, we got inside but there’s glass walls do you can see everything. Nice live music The reason why I give two stars is unfortunately because of the service. I wish I can give more but it was to the point where it made my group and I feel uncomfortable unfortunately, I wish I only had good things to say about this place. I also wish the waitresses had name tags. We went around 2 pm on 10÷5÷15 we were sat on the table next to the women bathroom close to the bar. Our waitress had light brown hair and colored eyes. She looked irritated from the gecko. We order drinks and my boyfriend came from the bathroom before she lefts and completely ignored him and walked away and he even said«I haven’t ordered me drink yet» :(. I insisted that she probably didn’t hear him and went and walked up to her to order his drink shortly after, and apologized for her inconvenience(customer apologizes so I feel secure that we were not being rude). She came back with or drinks and took our food orders, my friend asked for lemons and napkins when she finished taking our food orders and the waitress was right next to her and she completely ignored her. Didn’t confirm or anything, not even eye contact. The rest of the experience was the same, until the end when I think she over heard my friend asking if she should speak to the manager or I’m not sure if she saw me Unilocaling. It’s unfortunate that the tip was included. She definitely did not deserve it, she did a lousy rude job, and this is coming from a waitress that works in SoCal. We can’t include tip automatically, we have to earn it.

Great live band playing while we ate. The gumbo is excellent and the latte was solid. Of course the prices were a bit high, but that is to be expected for location. Don’t know that I’d go back, but it was good.

The catfish poyboy was really good. The reason I gave 4 stars is because of the price– they are about $ 16. It was fine, because I split it with my friend, but that’s just way to much for some fish on a bun. Service was good and there’s a nice deck, as well as an air conditioner indoors areas. Solid drinks too.

Had a great experience at The Market Café. I love almost any place that has outside seating and live music. The Market Café did not disappoint. I really enjoyed the mufulleta. I literally haven’t been able to stop thinking about the sandwich since I left NOLA. The service was attentive and the drinks were delicious. I’ll definitely be returning to The Market Café next time I’m in NOLA.

4 stars due to the Great service and good, reasonably priced breakfast buffet. Buffet is only $ 10. The food on it was fresh and hot. The biscuits are delicious — light & buttery. The fruit was sweet. Service is excellent and friendly. I would eat there again.
