After strolling into bed at 9AM(we’re so kewl), we got up for a late brunch around 2/3pm. No reservations, but obviously it was empty when we came in. Such an odd experience. Servers were eating cheese puffs as we walked in and we had to like really grab their attention. I love cheese puffs soooo maybe next time offer some to me? half kidding. As we were ordering another server came up to our server and started cracking jokes with her. Gurlll I am hungry, she’ll be done in 2 secs. I ordered lavender honey green tea(5 days into NOLA, obviously zero voice). It was weirdly put out on the table. We ordered 4 and they brought us like 3 personal pots. I ordered the corned beef hash which was decently sized. Nothing exceptional though. Ok nows the really weird part and I know Aria S. explains, but I need to vent as well. We asked for them to split the checks(how dare we). Basically threw the check back and said«no two cards max». Ok so we did that. Then the guy who cashes us out snaps his fingers waiving them back and forth saying«we dont do that here»(finger motion on the beat of the words). Hes so lucky we were all too dead to actually react, you’d get killed in philly for that. Maybe. I guess it made for some nice humor throughout the day.

Cool place right off Jackson Square. I opted for the seafood benedict and it hit the spot. Be prepared to wait a bit! Or do what we did — sneak in and find a spot at the counter.

I had the bananas foster with walnuts and a scoop of ice cream… My wife had blueberry pancakes with a scoop of ice cream … Food was awesome service was great, no wait on a Tuesday 9am. The view of the cathedral is worth getting a window seat.

The best food on a Sunday afternoon! Excellent bloody Mary’s. Great service and sitting by the window was a great spot to people watch and enjoy the art that is displayed by artist outside

We had planned to stay at the hotel and eat a light breakfast, however the fire in the kitchen at the Four Point Sheraton help us change our plans. We decided on the Stanley since it was on the way to the cruise to the Chalmette Battlefield. When we arrived at 7:30am the place was almost empty, so we had out pick of tables. Our waitress arrived quickly and set us up with a wonderful cup of fresh coffees. Looking at the menu I saw that the idea of a light breakfast wan not an option here. There was no oatmeal or fresh fruit and yogurt parfaits. The options on the menu looked incredible. I had the EGGSSTANLEY(Cornmeal-Crusted Oysters, Poached Eggs, Canadian Bacon and Creole Hollandaise on a Toasted English Muffin ~ $ 16.00) and my wife had the BREAUXBRIDGEBENEDICT(House Made Boudin, Ham, American Cheese, Poached Eggs, and Hollandaise on French Bread $ 16.00). Since was still going to try to keep it healthy she ordered it with out the cheese and Hollandaise sauce. My breakfast came out fast and hot with 6 very fresh perfectly cooked oysters, the eggs were poached just the way I like them. The only complaint I have is that the ham was the super thin sliced and, and it really was not there flavor wise. My wife’s breakfast was also very good. She loved it. I tried a bit of the Boudin and was very impressed. Not too spicy and a nice combination of rice and meat. We also shared a bowl of the Bacon & cheese grits. The grits were nice and firm with an incredible buttery bacon flavor. Overall we would go back again, if our diets could handle it. The food was fresh, hot and fast.

Breakfast omelette sandwich. A perfect way to start your day in NOLA. Eggs, ham, bacon, cheese, sweet onions with a sauce to die for. In between perfectly toasted bread. With a side of home fries sautéed with green onions. Good on ya’! Great wait staff. Takes your order on a phone. No, they’re not texting their friends. They’re texting your order to the kitchen. Friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Try this place!!!

Holy busy. But holy yum. My boyfriend and I were hungry for breakfast and we stumbled across this place on Unilocal & decided we should check it out. The people before us were told it was a 50 min wait. Thankfully the bar is obviously first come first serve! There were two seats next to each other! I was extremely happy. We were greeted right away. The staff was just so happy. Like everyone. My boyfriend orders a large mimosa and I order a small. His was huge. Great thing about New Orleans is that you can walk around with alcohol anyways. The breakfast menu is kinda small but I got the Stella eggs and my boyfriend got like the seafood platter of breakfast with a side of grits. The grits were pleasantly amazing ! My eggs were perfectly poached. I loved everything. I would most definitely come here again

Grab a window seat at Stanley and you’ll have a bird’s eye view of beautiful Jackson Square and Basilica St. Louis of France. Located in the heart of NOLA’s French Quarter Stanley is a great place to grab breakfast. I waked in and was immediately greeted with southern hospitality; a huge smile, a vibrant«Good Morning» and told I could pick the seat of my choice. Needless to say I snagged a window seat for people watching purposes. My server was just as pleasant as my escort and extremely accommodating; as I am notorious for altering menus to fit my specific desires. She didn’t flinch a bit and kept a smile. I ordered the Oyster Benedict without the hollandaise or English Muffin and added a pancake. The oysters were TODIEFOR!!! Lightly battered and seasoned to perfection. The pancake was decent, nothing to rave about. I’d definitely recommend Stanley as a great way to start your day. ~Christy

Great food and service. The BREAUXBRIDGEBENEDICT was delicious and the corned beef hash and eggs was delicious. My friend who has the Bloody Mary said it was delicious. The Brandy Milk Punch was very good. Great bread and very good coffee as well. Nice décor and right on Jackson Square. A bit of a wait but it was Sunday Brunch and they don’t take reservations, so to be expected.

NORESERVATIONS — FIRSTCOMEFIRSTSERVE We got here at like 3pm for brunch because… NOLA. So there was no wait, and we got seated with a nice view of Jackson square which was really nice. I ordered the eggs benedict because I wanted the freshly made french bread. I subbed the bacon for spinach/carmelized onions. The french bread was to perfection! The spinach wasn’t sautteed or cooked which I thought is kinda obvi. but whatever. The onions were really good! Also the spicy mayo is a great addition. Yum! The service was BEYONDWEIRD. When we walked in, the servers/hosts were eating cheese balls… da fuq. Then when she was taking our order, the host was making jokes to her about another employee. da fuq part 2. Then, when we were splitting our bill 4 way(not that crazy), she threw the bill back at me and said 2 car max. Ok fine, so we split up the entrees on each of the 2 cards. Another guy working there started tripppinn and said .(finger moving side to side) da fuq part 3.

There are many places to eat in the French Quarter, although I would say a goof portion are tourist TRAPS of the worst kind. Stanley sets itself apart by having a varied menu, breakfast is served all day and affordable prices. On my trip to New Orleans I ate here twice because of it’s excellent location, right near Jackson Square and it fits anyone’s pallet. You can order eggs the entire day or have a salad at 8AM. For the traveler who is dealing with a time zone change, this place fits your needs! The outstanding was the Bourbon banana french toast. It sounded way over the top initially but the sauce was rich in flavor and not too heavy. A generous serving and could be easily shared if you weren’t super hungry. Coffee is the chicory flavored that NOLA is known for and is very good. Wait is super long on the weekend, so be prepared! Overall, doesn’t feel overly touristy and is a good value for tasty and varied food.

Great location near Jackson Square. We got seated at the bar right away and you could tell there were tons of regulars who frequent this place as the bar and waitstaff were greeting them by name and chatting it up. Nice touch with the friendly smiles and service. Started off with the brandy milk punch, which was pure milkshakey goodness. Highly recommend trying one here. I had the Eggs Stella, basically an Eggs Benedict dish with a side of soft shell crab. Although I wasn’t expecting an entire crab on my dish, the presentation was very nice and made for an interesting breakfast. The crab itself was a bit mushy and lacking in flavor, however the crunchiness was spot on. Highlight of the meal was the bananas foster French toast. Came with caramel, walnuts and vanilla ice cream. Really delicious and the bananas did not overpower the dish. Friend had the Stanley Classic which was a typical eggs, bacon, potatoes combo. This was done well too. Great brunch, and I’ll be back for that brandy milk punch!

A lot of things are great about Stanley. 1. If you’re into brunch food, you must come here. 2. It’s conveniently located right in the French Quarter square. 3. The Eggs bier bridge is amazing. The pulled pork sausage is one of the tastiest things I’ve had in my brunch lifetime. 4. The eggs Stella is good if you like soft shell crab. 5. The bananas foster French toast is really good. We left three empty plates on the table. The only thing that wasn’t so great was the stubborn fly at our table. Server was extremely friendly to us. Loved this place.

Came here for brunch and it was pretty packed in the front. They take your name on their iPad and will text/call you when your time is ready. They quoted us(party of 2) a 15 – 20 min wait but it definitely didn’t take that long. We were so hungry we already knew exactly what to order once we sat down. Root beer float which is almond based vanilla ice cream -$ 4 Banana foster French toast -$ 12 –lived up to the hype –slightly too sweet –love the pralines and the almond ice cream they put on top! Eggs Benedict poor boy -$ 10 –simple but yet so good –ham, poached egg, on top of toasted bread Side of bacon and cheese grits -$ 4 –best part of the meal! –super tasty and extremely filling –highly recommend! Overall: great service, very attentive, brought our food out in 5 – 10 min and even split the portions for us! They don’t split checks or typically even let you go Dutch on the bill-so be forewarned! If you’re nice, they’ll let you go Dutch :)

I have been looking forward to this breakfast… Eggs Stanley(eggs Benedict with fried oysters!). We were greeted quickly and seated at the counter as requested. It is fun to sit and watch the crew work so quickly behind the fryers and stove tops. They show a certain playfulness mixed with the professionalism. Bloody Mary — nicely dressed with pickled beans and olives. Iced tea brewed and not from a fountain. Eggs Benedict Poor Boy served on a toasted French roll versus muffin — eggs so perfectly poached and the sauce was light but flavorful. A small side of red beans — generous portion and flavor with sautéed sausage throughout. Service was attentive but not overwhelming. Great breakfast spot — highly recommend.

Stanley’s is a pretty good brunch place. Its not the best, but its still a good to have brunch. I came down to visit from LA and its a great place to eat if you want to absorb the New Orleans culture. There was no wait for my party of two on a Sunday afternoon. Breakfast is served throughout the day and I wasn’t going to leave Louisiana without my hollandaise fix. I was able to try out their Eggs Stanley and their banana foster french toast. Both were okay. The Eggs Stanley was on the smaller side of my experiences with Eggs Benedicts. Nothing was too special about it. It was pretty much a 16.00 Eggs Benedict with a few fried oysters. The bfft was kind of disappointing too. It was probably 5 slices of bread doused in caramel sauce and bananas slices with a scoop of vanilla. I’m pretty sure thats not a banana foster. My coffee fix wasn’t satisfied either. I ordered a latte which was more like coffee milk. I’m giving this place solid 3⁄5. The food isn’t that great. The food might be a 2.5÷5 for me. But, if you want to eat in the action that isn’t Café Du Monde, Stanley might be it for you. Its right at the corner of Jackson Square. You’ll be able to see art and listen to the music. The restaurant also get more points for good customer service. My waitress came to check up on us and was very timely with requests.

Offering Southern breakfast fare with a twist, this restaurant was named after Stanley from the play«A Streetcar Named Desire» by Tennessee Williams, where the setting is at the French Quarter. As it is only appropriate, Stanley is located in a prime spot in Jackson Square with a grand view of St. Louis Cathedral. And that’s only a bonus! The main attraction here is the food and stellar service. You may have to wait a bit to get seated but next door is Stanley’s Café where a cup of café au lait could be enjoyed, or you can kill time admiring all the street art in this plaza until you get a text message that your table is ready. We knew what we wanted right off the bat and shared the following items between two people as Stanley and Stella probably would: LOUISIANAJAMBALAYA($ 8.50/sm) may have been the best jambalaya I’ve had, ever. Yes, I’m going there. The seasoning, the texture of the rice, and the combination of flavors from the Andouille sausage and spicy chicken was like watching a star-studded play of love, hate, and betrayal where each component portrayed its role resulting in dramatic ups and downs of emotions. Go for the large! EGGSSTANLEY($ 16) is an eggs benedict dish with cornmeal crusted Louisiana oysters thrown on it. The bennies are delectable with Canadian ham, Hollandaise sauce, and a perfectly poached egg that oozed out its yolk in all its silky splendor as I poked my fork in it. Stanley’s twist was adding those zinc-loaded aphrodisiacs that surprisingly worked together with the eggs benedict. Individually or together, these two were splendid. Sadly not the case for the lovebirds on the play. BANANASFOSTERFRENCHTOAST($ 12) was another outstanding performance. Sweet was not how the play ended but for our meal it was. The toast had just the right egg coating, and as it soaked all the foster sauce and melted vanilla ice cream, my oh my, was it pillow-y soft with heavenly juices gushing out as we devoured it. The fresh slices of banana were wonderful while the toasted walnuts added texture to this dish. Best of all, the sweetness level was not blinding as was Stella’s love for Stanley. Ahhh perfection! We’ll be remembering our meal here for quite a while.

A solid restaurant. I had the Breaux Bridge Benedict and my wife had the Benedict Poor Boy. The food was awesome. Seriously. I won’t be getting eggs Benedict ever again because it will never compare. The boudin and French bread twist gives it excellent flavor and truly makes a traditional dish their own. My wife enjoyed her Poor Boy, but the Breaux Bridge was the way to go. We got a side of creole potatoes and it was just excellent. The only reason I am giving it a four is because our waitress was horribly inattentive. She stopped by to get our order and then stopped by to get paid after about five minutes of waiting. I won’t discredit the restaurant much because of her, everyone else seemed to be paying more attention. This is a great place for brunch.

Maybe we came at a busy time, but I expected my experience to be better. Service was a bit slow, waiting for utensils, etc. Food came promptly. The Banana Foster French Toast was good, but I wouldn’t say it is a repeater. The Breaux Bridge Benedict was pretty good, but again, I wouldn’t say it is a repeater. The Gumbo was delish. I like heat. It was more watery than other gumbos I’ve had in the past. Maybe this is more authentic? We also had fried oysters as a side. Delicious fried goodness with a kicking sauce. Note: 7 fried oysters for $ 7. Overall, not a bad place in a great location. But there isn’t anything grabbing me to return.

Ok Stanley’s doesn’t need another review but I have to give them props on the food. It was hotter than hell out and only about 10am when we stumbled in. We sat at the bar and were attended to by Wes who brought the local charm of NOLA and made the experience that much more enjoyable. When it comes to the food I have 3 words. Cheesy bacon grits. They are so good, after having them I can say that this northerner has never really truly had grits until now. Definitely give them a try. I also had the po’boy eggs Benedict and the egg was perfectly poached. I washed that all down with their standard coffee which was surprisingly smooth and tasty. All around a great spot so I highly recommend it. It’s right on Jackson square so you’ll pay a bit more but the quality is totally worth it. Give it a look.
