If you want to be treated by nice employees, come here. It get’s crowded sometimes. Just don’t go during the typical hours of lunch breaks and people heading to work.

Yes I understand you’re busy but 15 minutes for a tall Pike. Really? Avoid during peak times at all costs.

This Starbucks is really small, don’t have a lot of seating and get crowded really quickly. It’s right across the street from the hospital, therefore, you can only image the amount of hospital personnel that frequents this location… I came in here twice today, the first time, I walked right back out due to the line and the second time, there were only 2 people ahead of me on the line to order. It took less than 10 minutes from start to finish.

I would just like to say that normally, this Starbucks is just like any other Starbucks location — you order, pay, get your drink in a normal wait time, no big deal. But I’ve noticed increasingly that even though I order my drinks with soy milk(I’m lactose intolerant, not trying to be trendy) and am charged and it’s clearly printed on the sticker, more often than not I get my drinks with cow’s milk. I have occasionally even happened to catch them using the wrong milk and corrected them, which is annoying but better than finding out later on. But most times it’s already too crowded up by the pick-up area to see exactly what’s going in my drink. I would just like to tell the baristas to be more careful regarding this. Not only am I paying extra for soy milk, I also legitimately get sick if I have cow’s milk. It’s not just a «this is the cool thing to do», so it would be greatly appreciated if they were more careful.

I am a Starbucks addict and have frequented many many locations. I have never had to wait for a regular brewed coffee until I stopped by this location. Every Starbucks I have ever been in has handed me the brewed coffee immediately after paying. When this didn’t happen, I asked the cashier if I had to wait and was told that I had to wait in the line with everyone who ordered crafted drinks. There were no customers behind me. He just stood there doing absolutely nothing. Only when he saw my frustration in having to wait did he decide to get the brewed coffee for me himself. I am a fan of efficiently run Starbucks locations and this is not one of them.

Giving this location four stars for the employees. It is the closest Starbucks to my house unfortunately I rarely go to this location because I’m always in a rush when I’m in my neighborhood and this place gets quite busy. Their never mess up my drink order as most Starbucks do downtown for some odd reason, or just straight up forget my order. This place always gets it right. There are bums that lurk outside ive seen those guys all over the city but it seems this spot is their headquarters. Last time we went, one came in and started harassing my boyfriend for change just like the south park episode. Hes used to it so he just looked at him and proceeded to try and keep his cool as he knows how hot tampered he can get without even knowing. Then one of the female cashiers or baristas chased him out and yelled at him to leave the customers alone. People started clapping and she gave us a $ 4 Starbucks card lol.

This has been my go to Starbucks for years. This place is incredibly busy almost all the time. The staff here is great. They always make my drink perfectly. They are always friendly, even when the line is out the door. Thanks!

Can get extremely crowded at times, since it’s right next to CUMC/NYP Hospitals. Lines can get long, but they move fast. Good customer service most of the times, since they have to deal with huge influx of customers. There’s very limited seating, but the wifi is not spotty.

It’s Starbucks coffee, pretty much the same Starbucks anywhere else around the city. However, the real standout here is the service and the niceness of the staff. On my 2nd day at work nearby, they already knew my name. Shout out to Jose! They’re serving a never ending line of hundreds of nurses, docs, and students. Yet, they take the time to get to know people by name, a refreshing thought. Take your smartphone, stand in line patiently, get your coffee and get out. Just enjoy the nice staff.

Love Starbucks coffee. This is a tiny narrow place with just a couple tables/seats. The line was out the door with people lined up next to the couple tables, not very relaxing place to drink your coffee. As such, we took ours to go with the hope of finding someplace we could drink it. Walked a couple blocks and ended up at a Barnes and Noble that had a great Starbucks café, line not as long, and comfortable seating area. Next time I’m in the area, Barnes will be first stop.

Each Starbucks(for me) is pretty much the same, coffee, baked goods, all the same. But what makes one better then another is the seating; period. This location has limited seating. Despite it being adjacent to Columbia/New York Presbyterian Hospital, its also just around the corner from the Fort Washington Men’s Shelter which provides shelter to 200 mentally-ill men. Being mentally ill is the criterion to be a resident of the shelter(you can Google that). Most weekend mornings, the area reminds me of an episode of Walking Dead. Unfortunately I also live in the area so I see this at various times of day moreso than some of the other authors in these reviews. If you like sharing close-knit seating with your neighborhood homeless, many of which are angrily outspoken, abundantly scented, and bold in their begging tactics and just downright scary, come on by. Being homeless means you don’t have a home to call your own — I was born a New Yorker so no bias there, but coupled with in-your-face intimidation begging, being screamed at if you ignore, and rocking a psychological diagnosis is an entirely different experience– more than I want in the name of a nice coffee. But if you don’t mind this then bring lots of coin change, you’ll be asked for it multiple times over. A Bank of America ATM kiosk stands just outside the door of Starbucks in case you want to donate paper currency — the shelter residents will be parked nearby there too. Enjoy!

I don’t know why everyone is complaining! It is Starbucks — there will be a line — go to Dunkin Donuts or some joe schmo to get your coffee otherwise. Yes, this is a busy location, but no more busier than other places. Try going to midtown — lines are out the door. In any case — all the baristas are extremely friendly! I have never had any problems. I do work at Columbia, and 70% of them know me by name. I am always greeted and my coffee is always just perfect! Everyone needs to relax and realize that there is times when it gets busy, but no one is forcing you to stay online!

I love the fact that the location is at the corner and right across the street from the hospital and the train station. Unfortunately, due to the convenience of this place, it is HIGHLYTRAFFICKED and almost always slow during peak hours like 8am and 6:30pm around change of shift time for hospital employees. Most times though I feel like they are understaffed because the lines would be nearly out the door and there are only 2 – 3 baristas and 1 cashier. Really? As of recently, they have also blocked off the seating area in the back which could fit about 10 – 12 people… which only leaves just maybe 3 small tables in the front and a few barstools. Good luck finding a spot to sit and study. The baristas are nice and accommodating though. They definitely make it known that if they don’t make your drink right, they’ll remake it again. I’ve also had an incident where a customer backed into me while I was adding milk to my coffee and spilled half my drink all over the counter and the floor. The barista remade my drink at no extra cost and a staff member cleaned up the mess right away.

This place is pretty small, I thought it would have been bigger but the bank share the same building just different sides of the building. It’s small but gets the job done, the line was pretty long but we moved quickly which wasn’t too bad, the employees were polite and attentive to the customer’s needs which is great in my books, it’s like any other Starbucks. I was in and out within five mins even with the line being so long, I recommend this place why not try it out, I’ll definitely return to this spot. And order some things from the secret menu!

If you need Unilocal to tell you what Starbucks is like, then I’m concerned re: how you make any shoe shopping decisions. HOWEVER. Adam is the best barista in Manhattan, and the rest of the baristas here are the sweetest people too. Minus one star for all the Columbia Med people. They’re in the way and they love themselves. We get it, you save lives or something, move on.

The people that work here are legitimately nice and friendly. It is well managed and clean. However, this is one of the smallest Starbucks I’ve ever been in and the line can be curled around inside like the tail of a cartoon pig. I just get to work 10 minutes earlier and it is much more manageable. Of course the days when I’m running late are the days I need the coffee the most.

Let me start by saying the staff is downright nice, seriously, like friend status lately. that being said, who’s idea was it to build the worlds smallest starbucks next to the biggest hospital in the city. hope you like a line…
