Some of the best bagels the city has to offer and absolutely the best veggie cream cheese I’ve ever had. The men behind the counter are efficient and hard working. Tip: They Deliver! When you have overnight guests, what’s better than fresh bagels to share?

I stumbled across this bagel spot walking down Broadway. I’ve either never noticed it before or it has done a really good job of hiding from me. I had a growling sour stomach from a previous night of too much glutony and was craving fresh bread… toast…something to ease the belly. I walked in and played it safe with an onion bagel with butter. The bagel was SUPER soft, and fresh. Definitely want to come back here to pick up a few more. They have several options to dress up your bagel, from simple butter, jelly or cream cheese to a souped up bagel with lox tomatoes and onions. Come in to stand and eat(no seats tho!) or grab and go. I knocked off 1 star for the way too serious owner who greets you at the register. Chin up dude!

Bagels are good, the place just never opens up on time. 5am means 545 am and 6am means when ever they feel like opening

We’re from Chicago, and we heard New York is known for their bagels(not so much for their pizza). We found Mike’s bagels after reading positive reviews online, and the bagels did not disappoint! The onion and everything bagel toasted with a generous spread of fluffy scallion cream cheese hit the spot on this rainy day. We are taking a dozen back to share with our friends and family!

Bagels are good but options are limited. $ 5 credit card minimum really sucks or else Id come more often. They’re okay but theres no real competition this far norrh.

Thank goodness for Mike’s bagels. They are the only good bagel place in Washington Heights and I eat there constantly. And they’re not just good — they’re some of the best bagels I’ve had. Their scallion cream cheese is hands-down the best I’ve had in the city. They chop it up really fine and mix it in with the cream cheese so the whole thing is scallion-y, not just a few bites with soggy scallions in them, like other places. If they ever close, I would be devastated. Dramatic, yes, but they’re worth it.

Awesome bagels… Including the whole wheat everything bagel. Their sandwiches are great too including the fresh mozz.

This is the best bagel in Manhattan north of Absolute Bagels. If your even in Washington Heights or have time to jump of the expressway it’s worth the extra effort. They make sandwich’s quickly, the guys there are nice, and the place is clear. Regarding the odd blood review sometimes a person cuts there finger ESP if cutting hundred of bagels a day and may not even notice it. That does not warrant 1 star and the destruction of a business. This clearly isn’t a regular event! This gives Unilocal a bad name!

Been going to Mike’s bagels for a while now to get my bagel fix. They make the bagels in house in the back. My go to is a toasted pumpernickel bagel with veggie cream cheese and ham. Skip the real vegetables(lettuce and tomatoes). Tons of meat and cream cheese. Real delicious. This place is always pretty busy, but the line moves quickly and the people working there are friendly. Price is reasonable and for the area this place can’t really be beat for a quick bagel sandwich.

I will say the everyting needs some help but it wasn’t the worst, It does need way more topping on BOTH sides, FYI they don’t do eggs.

One of the best bagles I ever had. The guys are fast and give a fast and good customer service. I’m taking care of my cousin at Presbyterian Hospital and this place make my days go easy(because I’m happy). I had(different days) Chipotle chicken, egg salad, lox spread and tomatoes. I love the egg bagle! I don’t do normally 5 stars but this one is so good for the price, quality and service. And they don’t have a plasma TV. It’s a take out place. They have basic coffee and drinks. I’ll be back tomorrow morning ;-P

Important tidbits: $ 5 minimum for credit card, no seating inside, two separate lines(line on the right to order, line on the left to pay afterwards). Bagels here are awesome and sandwiches are pretty good too. My favorite is the chipotle chicken sandwich. All their sandwiches have a significant amount of meat in it which is much appreciated when other places in the neighborhood are routinely cutting down on portion side(cough… Jou Jou). The one downside with Mike’s is that they have a tendency to drown the entire bagel with cream cheese… but it’s not really that big of a deal. I don’t like flavored cream cheeses, but I know they’re excellent here. The iced coffee is also cheap and consistently good. This is a really popular place in the neighborhood and does a lot of catering for NYP/Columbia. Wait times can get a little crazy in the morning and around lunch.

great choice uptown. not trying to be fancy, just good bagels, and a few spreads. The lox are pretty good… Coffee is only average.

This place is truly a gem in Washington Heights. Bagels are always fresh and tasty. Service is fast and very friendly. I’ve gone there so many times that they already know what I’m going to order! There is a variety of cream cheese to choose from, including Plain cream cheese, Lox spread, Strawberry, Scallion, olives. They usually put on WAY too much cream cheese though, so I usually order an extra plain bagel and I’ll spread the excess cream cheese onto that one.

DONOTEATHERE. I’ll get right to it, there was blood on my sandwich, in its container, on the brown bag and inside the plastic bag where they handle the rest of my purchases. This is a serious health code violation, and there’s no excuse for this. Oh and they don’t even do egg sandwiches.

Best bagels in the neighborhood by far. And coffee is good to boot! Definitely a destination in the neighborhood but nothing too special if you are willing to head downtown. Totally glad they exist though. Not 5 stars because it isn’t a long distance destination, but it is a totally sweet spot. I love that they have everything whole wheat bagels. That us a total perk. Their coffee is just a buck twenty five. I prefer the steamed milk coffees for cheaper a few blocks up, but when in a crunch close to the hospital or subway this is the joint. Long lines around lunch, so call in your bagel. Excellent service :-) Thanks guys!

Mike’s Bagels is a solid 4-star bagel shop(no, I am not partial; I hate my name) IF they fix one thing. Their whole wheat everything completes my mornings where I want to dive into a doughy concoction of salt, seeds and vegan toppings. Where am I getting these vegan toppings? Not here. I order mine to-go, since they offer literally *no* vegan offerings aside from most of their bagels. Sure, I’ve come to expect it to some point, but really, in such a busy area with so many younger and health-minded people from the hospital one block away you can’t offer some tofu cream cheese? At least some peanut butter, which seems to be a unicorn here; if you find it, alert the press as they always seem to be out. Like I said, after my overnight shifts I will occasionally pop in for a bagel to take home, toast, and add my own(usually homemade) toppings such as tofu cream cheese of various flavors, vegan-butter, almond butter, etc. Solid 4-star bagel shop, if they can get with the times!

Very, very tasty bagels with a variety of cream cheese to choose from. This is one of the best food joints in Washington Heights. I’d come here to grab lunch if I were studying at the science library. Scallion cream cheese is my favorite. They also have specialty sandwiches on bagels. I would usually get chipotle chicken and gouda on an everything bagel. Their chicken salad is my other favorite. This is not an eat-in restaurant. There is a $ 5 minimum for credit card.

Bagels are one of my favorite carbs. I am trying to cut down but it is difficult when a co worker goes on a bagel run to Mike’s. These are fresh, puffy, perfectly toasted, with all the right«everything» on top. I don’t like cream cheese but everyone that does like it says they put the perfect amount on. The coffee is pretty decent. Though, I’m not a huge fan of them putting my own milk or sugar in it since people usually go over board. Unfortunately no place to sit. The place gets busy in the morning so I understand opting out of tables and chairs. So for ~4 $ you get a great toasted bagel and large coffee to get you through your morning. The only thing I wish they had was a griddle to cook up some eggs and breakfast meats. I’d eat that all day.
