Great place to grab lunch when you’re not sure exactly what you’re craving. Prices are fair as well. You can get a decent sized lunch for less than $ 10.00.

Veggie Burger | Being on lent, my options for all things tasty is limited. I enjoy their buffet because it gives me a variety of things to choose from with vegetables. However, since the buffet was closed during the weekend, thought I’d give the hot grill section a try. I ordered the Veggie burger and I didn’t enjoy it at all. It was a vegetarian patty that I had tried before at another local resturant and I didn’t like it. The patty was thicker however it wasn’t cooked to a crisp on the outside. Inside you can include additional items such as lettuce, tomatoes and mushrooms with your choice of cheese inside a brioche bun. Not going to try this again.

As a Columbia student on the medical campus, it is easy to say that food options are slim. A friend told me about an amazing Hilltop Perk and I knew that it couldn’t be the one in the Hammer Lobby. This is the one that is on Haven, a few blocks past the Barnes & Noble/Starbucks café. It is a deli/grocery store/buffet, and has so many food options! You can get vegetables and other groceries, bags of chips and other snacks, sandwiches made for you, and the selection at the buffet is huge. They have different types of meat from chicken and steak to salmon. Their sides and salad bar are delicious as well. I believe it is $ 7.99 a pound, and honestly, its better to get good food like that than to pay $ 6.99 for a mediocre sandwich in the Hammer lobby.

This a really nice lunch place close to Columbia hospital. The lunch buffet tastes sooooo good. The variety of healthy food was impressive. The price is great too! Definitely coming back.

Another great addition to the neighborhood. Great coffee and very clean. Works are nice and they have a variety of snacks and deli options.

I thought this was a coffee shop but it’s more like a gourmet deli with coffee, they have stumptown coffee which was a nice surprise, cappuccinos were a little on the weak side and the prices seem a bit bit high, I will go back to see what else they have.

WAIT. THISREVIEWISFORTHEHILLTOPPERKTHATSACROSSTHETOWERS not the sad excuse for a café that’s inside hammer. This is a much needed oasis in the struggle city that is CUMC. I think that it’s a good distance away from the campus, which means you’ll have a nice one or two block walk away from misery when you decide to come here for lunch. I came here randomly one day with my friend who said he was going to buy me lunch from here. Cool. They have a really good hot buffet selection that changes every day(because I’ve been here more than once and have not had the same thing twice) and what seems to be a great deli as well. There isn’t really much to say about this place except that so far, all of my experiences have been pretty solid. I’m probably going to come get my lunch from here tomorrow before my class. I mean, obviously, this isn’t a place that’s OMG U NEED2GOHURRRR but it’s definitely done a solid job of getting my stomach through for the day. I think what’s really interesting is that they have both a hot buffet for breakfast and for lunch, but since I’ve never been here before noon, I can’t really attest to that. ALSOTHEYACCEPTCREDITCARDS Y’ALL(there’s like a $ 6 or $ 8 minimum but it’s very easy to spend that much when you’re eating with your eyes and not your stomach). I hope that they stay a solid lunch location until I graduate.

This place has the best hot food buffet anywhere in the hood. I’m willing to pay a but more for the excellent food they serve. The quality must stay high to keep me as a customer though.

Came here for a cappuccino and to get some reading done. Nice atmosphere, I approve of the mellow music selection, the place can get hectic at times but I was otherwise satisfied. Cappuccino was good, not fantastic, and it looks like they carry a lot snack items so I’ll be back. Also there’s wifi

Much needed café on the CUMC campus, located inside the Hammer Health Sciences building they serve overpriced but delicious sushi, warm sandwiches, soups, salads, a plethora of baked goods(try the chocolate croissant) and warm & cold beverages. Moreover, they have a fro-yo station with traditional and mango flavor($ 5 with 2 toppings). Also, there is a microwave conveniently located by the condiments and flatware.

Ugh. The prices are ridiculous, $ 5 for some of the worst froyo I’ve ever had. The service is better than the previous place. It’s too bad they can’t get a decent lunch/café spot up in here.
