This place is a dark smelly boring bar that was as depressing as a bar can get. Local place for people that just had a break up or got laid off. Don’t go here if your looking to have fun.

This place is consistently the only empty bar along the entire stretch of 2nd avenue during lunch our; and after my recent visit, I now understand why. Ordered the burger and beer deal(12 bucks). The beer was good(bottled); but the burger meat was definitely SPOILED. Eat at your own risk. I tried to shrug off the first two bites… but even confirmed with my buddy(who also ordered a burger) that the meat could only be described as tasting like«zoo» Gross — never again.

Great beer, company and food, plus very good happy hour. What more can you ask from an Irish pub? They have ample bar space with friendly bartenders that get you moving. There is also plenty tables for if you want to be waited on. It gets pretty loud and crowded during peak hours, but overall it’s everything one would expect from a pub such as this one. I had a great time here and will be back for sure.

A wonderful spot in the frat heaven that is turtle bay/midtown east. The service is always better than average to compliment a valuable price point from beer, spirits, and cocktails. On most nights you can be treated like a king/queen from Paul and Ray. These guys know their stuff. They care about what they do and will never take advantage or be rude to any guest that walks in. Very personable and from 2 persons to a packed bar, you never wait more than 3 minutes for a drink order. It’s almost impossible for me to think of any negative here.

I went here once to kill time before crossing the street over to Irish Exit for a happy hour deal of some sort. The guy who is posting about the jukebox made an interesting case, because their jukebox limits the songs you can even put on to basically Billboard Top 100. Other places give you free reign to put on whatever you want, so… I don’t know how someone could even be justified in hating a selection from their limited jukebox, but whatever, interesting point he brought up. Also, someone posted about a smell, and I can’t really disagree, I figured some guy came in and was just farting up a storm when I was in there, but now I’m not so sure. Generally this place seemed A-OK both times I’ve been. The second time I went, they even let us sit at a table for a long time and some people weren’t even drinking. If you’re in this area of rowdy frat bar crowds and looking for some place to have a slower and more adult experience, I’d recommend going here for at least a drink or two, you may also find it satisfactory and enjoyable.

Nice place for happy hour only $ 3 – 4 for bottle beer. The food was just ok but atmosphere pretty chill though. The only outstanding part which is the bartender seems wouldn’t bother you if you’re not seat on bar.

Resist this place at all costs! THEYARESCAMMERS. Friends and I went earlier this month and not only was it horrible service, the food was awful, the waiter thought it would be a great idea to hustle us. He charged each of us $ 3 for TAPWATER. Seriously? When we confronted him, He said that every place in New York charges you for it. It wasn’t sparkling or anything special, just plain water. After, we called a few local pubs and they said they never charge for tap water. Later, we call the manager who basically said«What are you going to do about it?» and laughed. We were all outraged. I’ve never felt so embarrassed for a restaurant. Rest assured, we will never return. Restaurants should not be scamming customers.

Worst experience! The waiter charged us 3 bucks for tap water which he never refilled! Got 5 bucks off me from the tip and water! BEWARE! Several other great Irish pubs in the city so skip the visit to this one and find the one next door!

This bar is horrible. At first glance it seemed okay, we ordered drinks, enjoyed the atmosphere. They have a jukebox you can put money in and choose. Our friends ended up putting 150 dollars into the jukebox not including the money we spent on actual drinks. We weren’t unruly nor were we drunk, I’m writing this review 20 minutes after the occurrence. A girl walks into the bar and complains about the music, so he turns it off. The bartender only offered to makeup our music money in alcohol, which is a large amount of alcohol, and won’t refund for our money lost. We asked to not make up our money on alcohol and the bartender refused, then he got very defensive and rude and kicked us out saying it was business practice. Very rude, we come here for business often and spend money generously while staying around the corner, we won’t return. We ended up going next door to Jameson’s and it was classier, more upscale, better music, and better drinks.

The food was good. Service was fair. Drink special daily. Only complaint is it smells of old beer. But it’s more bar then restaurant.

Easily the best poured pint of Guinness in NYC. And take it from someone who practically lives in Ireland.

I am known often for just wandering until I find a place acceptable. And I happened to stubmle upon this place. One of the best fish and chips I had while in NYC. The chilli was also above average. Service was also great.

If you’re in the area and looking for decent place that won’t make you feel old at 25 years old, this place will do the trick. Generally okay place! Pretty good place for a weeknight, especially considering that many of the places in the area are flooded with 21 year olds no matter when you go.

The food was fine and typical of a pub. I went after lunchtime and it was still a little crowded. The service was fine but nothing to write home about. The interior was also fine.

$ 3 bottled beers during happy hour(which lasts until 8pm) makes me so happy I forget I am in midtown. Our group of 5 parked it at a table in the back and comfortably enjoyed round after round. Clean space, 1 small but clean bathroom, and attentive waitstaff. Cheers!
