Found Jameson’s through Unilocal — great find! Spacious bar with a warm, easygoing vibe. Not crowded. Bar seating in the front and tables in the back. Happy hour until 8p with $ 5 drafts, $ 7 wines and $ 8 special cocktail. Also a great place to bring a group. I coordinated with Niall to have a group of 15 come in for holiday drinks. Niall was responsive, courteous and flexible — hard to find that kind of service when you’re working with bar managers/owners. Highly recommend a stop in – for drinks or to plan an event.

Great service, quiet place to go for lunch with some great beers and apps. Under rennovation currently, which made for a lingering scent of paint, but in a bit I’m sure this place’ll be great.

This place and the place next door, Murphy’s has the same owner who we love. Both are down the block from my job and friends and I love going to both for lunch and happy hour. Both places have amazing bartenders!

I’ve returned to this bar several times since my most recent updated review, and it has become one of my favorite bars to visit. I get treated like a friend here, and everything I stated previously still holds true in terms of quality of service and quality of food and drink! Just letting everyone know!

My roommates and my favorite bar! Darren is the best bartender in midtown! Great place, food and staff.

My friends and I popped in after seeing a sign for Happy Hour cocktails. We also noticed it wasn’t as crowded as other places on 2nd Avenue(that should have been a clue!). We ordered a couple drinks and quickly realized service wasn’t exactly«good» — when my friend’s margarita arrived without salt, she asked that he add salt to the rim. Instead, the bartender brought a PLASTICCUP of salt and tossed it on the table. Ummm??? As the rest of us tried our drinks, we realized none of them were good. But we figured it was happy hour, which usually means«the cheaper stuff» so we let it go. When the bill was delivered, though, we noticed that all the drinks were regularly priced. We asked the waiter. He told us that happy hour wasn’t happening that day — despite the fact that the board was clearly in the doorway. We pointed it out. «Oh, that’s just where we store the board» he told us, shrugging, and walking away. The sign wasn’t behind a door. It wasn’t turned in a corner. It was literally predominantly displayed in the open doorway. When we confronted him about it, he was dismissive and condescending(to say the least). He even SMIRKED! Then he noticed us taking photos of the board in the doorway — sorry, dude, don’t mess with lawyers — and he quickly removed it, obviously realizing it WAS their mistake. But he still made no attempt to make it right. We are all professional women, quite able to pay for whatever the drink prices are, but his condescending behavior was beyond inappropriate. If your establishment makes a mistake, you fix it and you certainly DONOT talk down to the clients. Not to mention their«regularly priced» drinks were watered down and not at all good. Overall, this is a terrible place. No wonder it was nearly empty!!! With so many lovely spots around 2nd Avenue for drinks, I’d highly recommend avoiding Jameson’s and going somewhere with 1) decent drinks and 2) decent customer service. Don’t let the lovely décor fool you… this place is a dump.

Great service, reasonably priced drinks(for midtown standards — meaning you still might have to take out a little loan if you open up a tab for the night, but at least you won’t need a second mortgage on your house) and great for groups! Wasn’t overly crowded with underage kids from Fairfield like most bars in this neighborhood

small bar on 2nd ave with a good happy hour deal. Runs until 8pm and select beer is only 5 $ — seemed a bit empty given the quality of beer selection and price. Did notice the crowd skewed mid to late 30s, which sets this bar apart from the typical 20-something bars on 2nd ave. Saw a few people ordering apptizers and entrees at the bar, nothing outside your typical bar selection. Would recommend as a spot to a friend for a happy hour drink and catch up.

I love this bar! I come here at least a couple times a month either with my friends, or with my coworkers– this is a great place for a group of people to have happy hour, and management will easily accommodate you and provide fantastic service. This bar has a trendy/sophisticated ambiance post renovations, and the new signs out front look amazing. The food is delicious– the CRABCAKES, muscles and chicken sandwich are real pleasers! And the featured cocktails/happy hour never disappoint(good prices as well). I definitely recommend bringing your friends on a Friday night for the live music!(Not to mention the bartender is a real charmer).

I frequent Murphy’s a lot so I decided to stop by Jameson’s for the nyc soccer game with a group of about 10 people and everyone loved it. First of all, the bartender was great– he heard us saying we were watching the game so he turned the volume up and angled the TV so we could see it perfectly. Definitely a great place to watch any games. The décor is amazing post-renovation and feels like more of a classy bar than typical pub. We got lots of drinks and a bunch of food too which was probably my favorite part. The fried pickles with bacon are amazing(and that’s coming from someone who isn’t a pickle fan.) We also got the Mac and cheese which was delicious and burgers which were great too. The place filled up later in the afternoon so the bartender had his hands full. He took a bit longer to bring our next round of drinks so they were on the house, which was great. Will definitely be back for some more drinks & food during games & to check out the ambiance at night.

Great fish and chips on St. Paddy’s day. But there really isn’t much seating. It’s more of a bar with a few tables in the back.

Read a few other reviews before coming here and have to agree, the place has just been remodeled and it looks great! I came with a friend for drinks and they have a pretty good selection of beer for $ 5. Though I tried their house brewed amber lager and was not a fan, tasted very bland to me, wish it had more flavor. Other than that the atmosphere was nice, quieter which I liked. In addition to bar tables at the front and seating at the bar, there are also tables at the back if you want to order food. I didn’t order any food but a few people near us did and it looked good! Bartender was nice and the server was also super friendly! I always like an establishment with welcoming staff! Like this place more than most bars I’ve been to in this area. Affordable. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. Good beer. Would definitely recommend to others and come back again!

*Late night review* A friend held his birthday drinks here after a nearby pub was packed to capacity. Jameson’s was probably the opposite — we were basically the only patrons at the bar area for most of the night, with the exception of a few people eating dinner towards the back of the pub. The restaurant and restrooms(very important!) are clean and the bartender was nice, but the atmosphere here was a bit lacking. That being said, it’s a good place to chill with some friends and not go ridiculously nuts or get crazy drunk. You don’t have to scream over music or other people, which I actually enjoyed. You can actually hold conversations with people here. Prices of drinks are comparable to those around Turtle Bay.

Decent Happy Hour option that won’t be ridiculously loud or crowded on a Thursday night but minimal drink specials after 6pm. 2 for 1 Strawberry Lemonade Vodka drinks and $ 5 lager drafts. Ketel One martinis are $ 14 a pop. Only one bartender. They change shifts at 7/7:30PM. The guy definitely had a heavier pour :)

Good crack. The bartenders are friendly, the Irish whiskey options are some of the best in the city, and the food is quality. Great pub.

Jameson’s was recently renovated. It’s more comfortable and upscale now — less dicey. But, it’s still a basic faux-Irish Pub on 2nd avenue. The beer selection is predictable — a few Irish standby’s, Stella, and a handful of NY area brews. Food-wise, it’s also very typical. Nothing is horrible, but nothing stands out. Stop in for a drink and, maybe an appetizer or two. The rest is just ok.

This establishment has a great look and feel. For the scotch drinkers there is a very nice selection to choose from. Had a small bite to eat but it was fresh and quite good. Hats off to the very engaging Cassie and Aoifa(bartender and hostess). Went in to have a drink to kill some time and completely enjoyed their company. I will be back! change nothing! You’ve built it… they will come! Dave

Stopped in for a late brunch on a Sunday, and this place was perfect. Comfy décor, looks like an upscale pub, it’s awesome. Went in for brunch and opted for steak and eggs that were perfectly prepared. Steak was cooked medium, just as I requested! Oh, and not to mention, free brunch beverage, opted for a classic mimosa that was very tasty! If I lived in NYC, I would be here every Saturday or Sunday for brunch!

Very nice spot on 2nd avenue for brunch or for some after works drinks. A very sophisticated look inside, really comfortable upholstered seats, cool light fixtures and s very friendly staff. We each got an entrée off the brunch menu which came with a complimentary cocktail. The food was very good and not super rich. We couldn’t figure out why there weren’t more people there but so be it, we enjoyed ourselves.

Under new management and a great addition to the neighborhood. Cozy, upscale pub with a nice bar. Prime seating once it gets warm and the entire front window opens up to the sidewalk. Good drink and beer selection– Ithaca Apricot Wheat! Had a couple of snacks, calamari was tasty and the chef melted cheese for us on the house baked potato chips. Definitely worth stopping in! Will be back for sure… a good alternative for The Smith lovers.

I’m very excited about the newly opened Jameson’s. I live a few blocks from this restaurant and was never really interested in this establishment before it’s renovation. I stopped by yesterday and it was so inviting, beautiful with just the right amount of elegance with without being too stuffy. The mussels dish was $ 21 and very delicious. The seating was cozy. The service was excellent. I can’t wait to go back here with a group. In my opinion, there isn’t anything comparable=in the neighborhood. I love the laid back elegance of this place. I’m definitely a fan!
