Honestly was just looking for someplace warm during a blizzard and was pleasantly surprised by delicious California eggs to go with my pint of Guinness. Modern pub atmosphere.

Excelent service, good food. The staff was very nice; they put the soccer game we wanted on a TV and was very attentive in refilling our bottomless brunch drinks. The food was better than the average food you can expect from a bar.

Stopped in here for lunch cause our usual spot was too long of a wait. Glad we did. We sat at the upstairs bar which was empty. Their French onion soup was prob the best I’ve had. Their calamari(buffalo style) was also delicious. I also ordered a roast beef wrap that they had as a lunch special. The bartender was very friendly also. I’d love to come back here for happy hour!

Excellent Irish pub with pretty much everything you’d expect from one. Friendly bartenders, lots of TVs with all the major sporting events. You cant really get a bad seat at the bar. I haven’t had anything to eat as we came here primarily for drinks while waiting for the rest of our party to arrive. The happy hour was great, and the beer was nice and cold. We arrived pretty early and were lucky enough to snag two bar stools. In no time the place was hoppin’ and loud and you could barely move about. I would definitely return here for more drinks food and fun.

Simply the worst dining experience I’ve had in New York, both food and drink. Bartender didn’t know how to make a basic martini. Shrimp and avocado tasted like it was pulled out from Michael Moore’s grundle and thrown in the microwave. I’m sure they’re not looking to make it onto the Zagat 100, but for the love of God, don’t go here for anything but a beer(and I’d stick to bottled). Only saving grace is that the waiting staff was reasonably attentive, probably the only reason one could have for being in this restaurant, which was, by the way, almost completely empty.

Came here for a drink on a Thursday night. Seemed to be a fun place — lots of groups watching the football game that night. They have an upstairs that has a nice(small) patio outside. Luckily it was a really great night to stand outside and enjoy the balcony! I stuck to beer and had decent service from the bartender. Overall nothing to complain about but wasn’t overly impressed = deserved 3 star!

My wife and I went here for a late-night meal during our recent trip to NYC in July. The food was good, no complaints. The draft beer and mixed drinks were excellent, no complaints. Service was a bit slow… otherwise, I’d have given this place four stars.

Good food and cocktails! For a nearly empty bar it took forever to get our food(There were only 5 customers in the bar total, with about 6 – 7 wait staff hanging around). I would definitely try it again and hope their service was just having an off day.

Nice bar for a refreshment with friends. The happy hour menu looks pretty good after a long day of fun. There were 9 of us and our waitress was very good with our orders. They have a long table towards the front by the entrance, it was perfect for our size. I will definitely come here again whenever I am in the area.

Stopped off for a quick bite with friends including a 5 year old. Service was quick, not overly friendly, but efficient. They have a kids menu so that helped when finding something for the little one. I had a steak wrap and it was really yummy. Even our 5 yr old like her«Schetti» Would definitely stop here for a bite again.

Near by spot for food & drinks. Friendly staff and a very eclectic/interesting crowd. One of the best irish pubs in midtown east.

Great brunch spot! You get a free drink(mimosa, Bellini, Bloody Mary etc) with your brunch entrée, and entrée prices are reasonable. I got the Irish breakfast(scrambled eggs, Irish sausage, potatoes, beans, toast, etc) with a mimosa– ended up filling me up for most of the day! They also give complimentary banana+carrot muffins which was a nice surprise. Great service. And then I also think they have everyday happy hour from 3pm-8pm. I always love specials on weekends since they’re rare to find!

Great place would get you three stars. Exceptional staff earns this place four. Games on 5+ tvs, surprisingly favorable guy: girl mix. Randomly ended up here — glad I did.

Great spot for working lunch. I really like this place — the food is super reliable, there are lots of healthy options and its not at all grungy. Service is good and the place is really clean. It’s my go to lunch spot in the area.

Good spot to watch sports, grab a beer(mediocre options), and have some pizza. Nothing to seek out, but if you are in need of a place that has games and decent bar food, Pig ‘n’ Whistle will suffice.

Stopped in here around 5:00 on a Friday and while the place was packed, the hostess still managed to get us a table ASAP and our waiter was there just moments later to explain the drink and food menu. We each got a couple of drinks and split an appetizer. The food was good, the drinks were yummy and the service was great. We didn’t stay super long due to needing to be somewhere else but this was a great little pub that I would recommend to others.

Conceited young staff with ZERO cares and reheated frozen food. Don’t disrespect yourself by going here. A lot of reviewers are really over selling this place and giving it too much credit where ITISNOTDO! This place is BELOW average at best in every aspect of an establishment. Décor and prices are definitely not worth waisting the energy of my fingers to write about. When it comes to the food, the wings were obviously frozen and then reheated in a microwave. No need for an oven or fryer, this place has a microwave! I suggest eating a bullet instead of the food here, point blank! The main issue and reason for this review comes from the service and staff attitude. The way these employees carry themselves and handle situations would make being on the end of a noose appealing. There was a short little girl bar tending named Quiva, who didn’t seem old enough to sell alcohol and was often hard to find as she is the same height as the bar ;) Her judgement needs close adult supervision and at first glance her people skills seem slightly normal. After a few minutes those skills mixed with her personality are clearly comparable to the TWA flight 800 crash. NOTBARTENDERMATERIAL. Her being able to use her own judgement should be punishable by death.(You bring shame upon the rest of us irish folk, shame on you Quiva!) We asked to speak with a manager do to an issue with Quiva, and what do you know?! Another young female. The short blonde was polite at first, altho she couldn’t resolve anything, offered no compensation, and clearly just didn’t care. NOTMANAGERMATERIAL. I was starting to question which college sorority owned this bar. I just wanted to talk to an adult and became curious if she was even an actual manager. The conversation went around and around and went no where… the proverbial carousel. This place lacks any and all of the simple basic principles of a business. Its missing very elementary qualities needed for return customers. Wheres John Taffer when you need him? Don’t be a victim of unhappiness; don’t betray your bank account. DONOTWAISTYOURMONEYHERE. I have been here a few times, the latest being last night. When you enter, the music can be a bit loud/overwhelming, but you get used to it. It is a fun place to come with friends for a drink and general hanging out. I like the upstairs area a lot more — it seems to be a lot quieter and the outside seating area is great to hang out in with friends! The food is OK. pretty decent bar food. I haven’t eaten here much, but I will, over time! Check it out!

Awww yes Pig ‘n’ Whistle saved the day for me after waiting for a friend at Blockheads and after purusing their menu I decided it would be best to find another restaurant to eat at. Right across the street they do not realize how much of a lifesaver they were to me that day. Hungry and a bit annoyed, we popped in and went to a nearly empty bar around 4 pm. My friend and I were greeted by Lawrence and we noted that happy hour had the standard well drinks, selected wines, liquors, and beers from 4 pm to 7 pm. And of course me being me I opted just to bypass the darn happy hour menu and stick with my apple martinis. The menu is just fine and I do recommend at least one of the following the Royal Burger($ 15.95) or the chicken pot pie(which by the way does not come out as a pie but a full on meal in a elongated dish). I opted for the The Royal Burger, which is topped with onion rings, bbq sauce, cheddar cheese, pickles, tomatoes, and a long toothpick to hold it all together. A side of fries come with it as well freshly cut and made and takes up the other half of the plate. They do not skip you on the portions and I love that. My burger was so tastey I could not finish it all because my stomach was full half way through. Even my friend could not stop admiring the meal put forth before me. But back to Lawrence let me just say as a bartender to have to deal with me you need personality. I enjoyed his banter and would hope to see him again at the bar in the near future. He is excellent and I have no complaints. Shout to Lawrence the bartender!!!
