Order from this place way too much. But it’s good. Very tasty soups, salads, entrees… they seem to close earlier than posted sometimes so order early…

I come to Michael’s every day. The food is not gourmet by any means but it’s good enough for breakfast and quick. Bill(who normally works the front) and his brother Rana(who usually cooks in back) are exceptional human beings. They are friendly, efficient and remember how I order certain things after only a few visits(for example on days I work from home and come in not dressed up they give me black coffee that I add French vanilla creamer to and on days I’m dressed up and on my way into work he gives me my coffee with just cream — how I would take it if the flavored creamer is unavailable). If you live in the hood I strongly urge you to support this business for breakfast or simple deli food.

Picked up a turkey sandwich here this past weekend to bring on the train for my trip out to Rononkoma, LI to visit family. As most of the food choices in Penn Station consists mainly of gross fast food choices or shoddy high-fat foods I make it a habit of bringing a healthier option with me nowadays when traveling. This little deli in my hood is always a good choice. From just simple sandwiches, to salads, breakfast sandwich specials, and a decent cup of coffee, I can always find just what I am looking for here. Nice list of sandwiches to choose from. No muss, no fuss. The guy who usually works the counter is friendly and quick working up my order. Small fridge with sodas, water, and assorted drinks is also on hand to pick up a beverage on the way out. Gotta love these small no-frills businesses!

Broke my «I won’t eat prepared foods from a Bodega styled food place» because I was in the mood for a simple 2 eggs on a roll with bacon breakfast. Saw some favorable reviews for this place on Unilocal and since it was in the neighborhood, I’d give it a try First mistake was trusting reviews as most people wouldn’t know quality food if it landed in their lap… Who cares if the guy behind the counter is nice? Anyway, I digress. Can’t even tell you what the bacon was. almost chipped a tooth on it. upon«opening» up the sandwich it didn’t take long to notice the low grade bacon being used. Onto the next place to find my ideal egg sandwich. actually, might make sense to start making my own. pick out my own quality bacon that adds flavor and not just grease. This place was terrible!

They don’t skimp on the fillings in those sandwiches and the hot sides are also well-portioned; def good value. Only gripe is that the guy taking phone orders has an accent almost too hard to understand.

They make very good sandwiches that aren’t very expensive. Kind of goes unnoticed in the neighborhood but worth stopping by.

I do miss when I used to live around the area and come get breakfast here before work. The guys are really nice here and very friendly. The food and coffee is good too. It hit the spot.
