While their soup is okay, don’t bother to call for delivery from this location. My office is literally half a block away and it takes anywhere from 45 to 60 minutes for a delivery. The soup is okay, but not worth the wait.

Only tried their salad and it was pretty good. I ordered the pre-packaged chicken walnut avocado salad and it was delicious. The grilled chicken did not have any of the weird chicken taste like some other places. And it was very fresh. My friend tried one of their shrimp soup and she was very happy with her food. Overall, I’ll definitely return again to try other salad and soup

I have to give this place 5 stars for the impeccable service which I found pleasantly surprising being a fast food chain. I came in on a rainy day and since I was waiting for a friend didn’t get in line right away and instead decided to read the menu of the vast number of soup options to narrow down my selection beforehand. All of a sudden a gentleman approaches me, who I now assume was the manager, to let me know that I could go up and have a sample of any of the soups I was interested in. He then let me know about all of the popular everyday soups, daily special soups, and the new simmer, which are slow cooked stews that are served over pasta or grains. At this point I figured I should just go up and order but I was still indecisive. Upon approaching the soup station the young lady who assisted me gave me each sample I asked for with a smile and although a line started to develop was extremely patient. I ended up not really liking the samples I asked for so at this point she started suggesting samples for me to try. I was in a pretty basic mood so I decided on the 10 vegetable which I liked very much. It’s a classic vegetable broth soup. For the food, the soup options are endless and new additions are added daily so I’m sure you will always find something to satisfy your taste buds. You also have the option of getting a half soup and half sandwich, which are all pre-made and in a glass cooler until served so they are on the cold side. If you want a salad, they have that too! There are pre-made salads that you can grab and go or you can always make your way to the salad bar where they will make your salad to your liking. Top hale and hearty that I’ve been too hands down.

Too pricey but the soups are great, can’t complain about that. Expect to spend about $ 7 for half of a sandwich and over $ 6 for a small soup.

Messed up order, hung up on me twice, waited over an hour and a half for SOUP from two blocks away. This all happened during business hours and I was ordering for a meeting with my superiors. Nightmare.

An unexpected find. Great soups and salads, fast counter service, with plenty of table seating even during lunch hour. If you’re careful of all the add-ons, the price is good.

Only con is that the store does not have Air Conditioner and makes it hard to eat in during the summer. Service is good, food always delicious! Love when they have the broccoli cheddar mashed potato soup! So good!

Good food for such a large chain. The winners for me are the make your own salad of course and the chicken and corn soup(it’s delish). The line however is always insane. If they could speed things up or add a staff member to the salad line it would be a near-perfect quick lunch spot.

So upset with hale & hearty right now. HOWCOULDTHEYDISCONTINUETHETURKEYPARMESANLEMONAIOLISANDWICH?! that was my favorite sandwich and my order every time — soup and that half sandwich. And replacing it with turkey Gouda and basil mayo?! I tried and Does not even taste good! Definitely going to hale less now.

This is the first review I’ve ever felt inclined to leave, because my experience here was so bad. I entered in a great mood, ready to be sold on a new place, and my good mood got repeatedly squashed. When I asked where I should begin, the cashier shrugged her shoulders like she didn’t know, and it was down hill from there. It took ten minutes to make me a bad salad drowned in dressing, and I was the only one in line. After I picked out my ingredients, the salad server said(after it was too late) that I should have ordered the bigger salad for a better deal. It’s always nice to know when you ordered wrong, thanks for the help. When I asked her what the dressing options were, she pointed to a list, and when I picked one from the list, she said that one was«discontinued.» When I finally got to pay, the cashier rolled her eyes because the salad maker had marked my salad wrong and over charged, and then called her over to chastise her while I’m still just waiting to pay. The whole thing ended with them gruffly telling me I couldn’t sit in the seat I had chosen, because it was«roped off.» When I moved to an «allowable» area, she immediately started sweeping around me. I felt like I was in a comedy sketch where they have such a confusing business model and bad service that it’s supposed to be funny.

I swung by to redeem a LevelUp credit for an easy lunch. Clean location with friendly staff. It’s so spacious and yet, all of the tiny tables alongside one wall are pushed together… Leap frog, anyone? All items and prices are clearly marked. You can sample the soups before you order. ‘90s music plays loudly in the background. There’s a clean single-stall BR in the back. Free iced water(plain and lemon) is available by the napkins, so skip the bottle and grab a cup instead. –Turkey & Avocado W/Walnut Pesto Sandwich($ 4.34): Bland and forgettable, so maybe just stick to the soups. –Dirty Potato Chips: Sea Salt($ 1.45+): Verrry crunchy! Tasty, thick-cut chips, but also oily, so grab a bunch of napkins.

Friendly enough but incredulous staffer accepted LevelUp for a coke out of the drink case on a cold weekend afternoon. Pretty large space so I imagine they can handle the weekday lunch crunch pretty well. Transaction Amount $ 2.17 Credit Applied — $ 2.17 Total Spent $ 0.00 Fortunately Unilocal agree to merge the previous duplicate listings.

This particular branch always has at least one variety of soup that I like whether it’s a seafood bisque or a corn chowder it’s all good. This one is a relatively busy one, but the line always moves at a perfect pace(for me it’s enough time to read the board to figure out which soup I want) Payment is also easy. I always take out from here so I have no opinion on seating, but in Manhattan it’s always tough to get a seat in a place like this.

I walked here from my office for lunch and was glad that I did. Yes, during lunch, they are very busy, and I expected that, but there were still lots of choices for soup and sandwiches. Also, the staff was very friendly, which was a pleasant surprise, given how many people they probably deal with on a regular basis. That being said, the tables/seating area wasn’t all that clean and the trash cans were overflowing. I’d likely come here again, but I’m not rushing back(especially with so many choices in the neighborhood!) I had a large 10-vegetable soup and a half of a turkey/avocado sandwich. The food was good, though I would have liked the sandwich to be warmed up. And yes, like many others have said, the price for soup seems a bit steep, but again, its Manhattan ;)

A place that specializes in soups! Sounds exciting! The soups taste great and they have a great selection. However, it is a bit pricey for a large soup, which to me is really a small soup. Service here isn’t great. The cashier who took my order was rude. I asked for corn and she put 2 kernels in there.

Great soup and sandwiches. There are SO many to choose from that it is hard to decide! They will let you sample a little of a couple of soups to help you decide which one you want. Hot Soup and a half sandwich are the perfect meal on a cold day or even a hot day! It’s clean and there is seating. Try this place out!

This place is always crowded. In the winter the soup line is really long and on warmer days the salad bar the line is always long. This restaurant is usually clean. The staff are not as friendly as they used to when they first opened up. They should do a retraining on greeting the clientele. The soups are almost all great. My favorite is the chicken tortilla. I ask for the tortilla on the side. My next favorite is the Yucatan Lime chicken, the Moroccan chicken is not bad either. I love their loyalty program for their soups and salads.

This place has fallen off, I’m sad to say. Around this time last year, I got nothing but speedy, helpful, friendly service to accompany the soup and sandwiches I love so much. When I come in during lunch rush and want a sandwich, I usually stick to sandwiches already made, but there have been times where they would make it for me. I came in the other day around 3 when there was hardly anyone there and a bunch of people behind the counter not doing much of anything. I asked for a sandwich that I noticed was not in the case, thinking it wouldn’t be too much trouble for them to make since it was not busy. The man helping me looked in the case, noticed the sandwich I wanted wasn’t available and looked up at me and said«uhm, we have to make that.» To which I replied, «I know, that’s okay I can wait.» He repeated, «We have to make the sandwich, though.» I told him to forget it and I would just go next door. They have also consistently been late(I’m talking 45 minutes to an hour on top of an hour already waited) on delivering mine and a coworker’s food on separate occasions. One day they were a half hour late, explaining«you ordered grapes, that’s why it’s taking so long.» What sense does that make? They probably forgot but didn’t even offer any kind of refund or anything. I haven’t been in the food delivery business for a few years now, so maybe they just don’t offer that kind of compensation for making you wait twice as long as they originally told you. Who knows?

I’m a soup head. In that, I could pretty much eat soup every day. I also love making soup.(Go on, look in my freezer and you’ll see a variety of containers of frozen soups.) Yes, I realize I’m reviewing a chain, but it’s new to me and a this particular location recently opened up near work and it’s been my twice weekly thing for lunch. Noteworthy: — As a vegetarian, I like that they have such a large selection of soups and that they’re denoted as V L D(Vegetarian, Low Fat, Dairy Free). My favorites/staples: 10 Vegetable, Winter Vegetable with Dumplings, and Potato-Leek. — The«Everyday Soups» are less expensive than the Daily Specials. Though, considering other food choices in the area(read: craptastic), you’re really not shelling out a lot of cash for what you get: homemade soup. On average I spend $ 5 – 6 for a medium size soup. — The staff here are incredibly nice and always seem to be in good spirits and smiling. I honestly don’t know how they deal with the general public here who sometimes sample about 4 soups and then have no idea what to order, further congesting the line. Come on now, people, read the menu online before you come here. OR, better yet, order online from their website and get out of my way. — My only complaint – and this has nothing to do with this location, but rather the chain – is that their soups have so much sodium. It would be great if they could reduce the salt in their soups on the whole, or have a low-sodium menu. And no, I’m not the«health police», I cook and I know that one can make an incredibly tasty soup with less salt. Just go already. Jeez.
