Hale & Hearty has some wonderful soups — I’m a huge fan of their cream of tomato, chicken & orzo soup — that, and a couple of pieces of bread, and I’m set for the day! Excellent daily specials!

Kenya is such a doll. Let me explain why: she cares for me as a customer. She catered to my need for declicious soup. Therefore, i will be a returning client to hale and hearty. She is an asset to this store and deserves a promotion or recognition. Xo

This is the worst Hale & Hearty location. They only get 2 stars over 1 star because the soups are good, if you can get them. Every time I’ve gone there they tell me there is a 20 min wait for the more popular soups. Other times they have the soup, but are out of bread. I usually go there around 2pm/3pm so I don’t know how they run out of bread for the day at that point. I just think this location is very poorly managed.

I was already having a rough day when I entered Hale and hearty soups! I thought it was gonna be expensive) for what I wanted it was lobster bisque but it’s lobster) so I opted for the chicken chill with rice! It’s delicious better than my moms need chill! And my register person Alize Lewis she smiled and was patient while I found my money! My first trip to this establishment was wonderful I will be back! She just forgot my spoon

I go here primarily out of convenience. The management is on its third turn-around. Some of the same workers remain(its a young crowd — they like to talk, but they do move). The location is clean, could be a little brighter. But overall, the food is consistent.

I’m not sure why so many people have posted negative reviews about this place. I’ve been to a few different Hale & Hearty locations, but the staff here is consistently nice, with a great, fresh selection. There’s always a place to sit, even during the busy lunch time, and I appreciate the detailed nutrition information available on their website. When I was working down in the FiDi, this was one of my favorite places to come for lunch(especially during the winter).

Seriously never coming here again. The staff were rude and also did not know what they were doing/how to treat customers. The app wasn’t working. And last but not least there was a long hair in my salad. I’m honestly sick to my stomach. The thought makes me nauseous. Hale has been honestly getting worse and worse.

Conveniently located downtown, this Hale and Hearty soup chain hits the spot; especially on cold days. This location is spacious and very clean. The walls are beautifully painted and the tables patterns are high quality. Hale and Hearty feels more like a bistro rather than fast food. This location has a large selection of soups, salads and sandwiches. Even better, Hale and Hearty allows you to order online either for pick up or delivery; super convenient. We had the turkey with trimmings soup and the corn chowder soup. Both were tasty, sweet and savory. The ingredients were fresh, and the temperature was perfect! The biggest downside to Hale and Hearty is that it is very expensive. A small(approx 8oz.) will cost you $ 6. That is a pricey lunch. I would visit Hale and Hearty again, despite the price.

Almost forgot to write this review but a friend and I went to this place little while ago to get a salad. We got our salads and headed back to our office to eat… well long story short my friend found a fake nail in his salad. They were nice enought to refund us and give us free soup coupons but a mistake like this is unacceptable.

Even with long lines they move us through fast and painlessly. Delicious soup with a half sandwich. A little over prices but you get what you pay for here. Very well made sandwich. Friend got the salad and was disappointed with the size.

Email to manager: «To Whom It May Concern: I went to your store today(Friday, September 19 at 11:45am) for the first time in about a year, but I was completely surprised by how rude and unorganized one particular staff member of yours was and I will NOT be going back. Your staff do not wear name tags, so I don’t know what her name was. I plan to share this feedback with my co-workers as well so that they can decide for themselves if they choose to return to your store. I simply asked one of your salad servers today if she could give me all of the basics. The layout of your store has changed such that salads are now behind the counter. Instead of simply asking me which salad I wanted, your staff member rolled her eyes, scowled at me, and barked, „Which salad do you want?! You just said all the basics, but what salad?“ I told her mixed greens and apologized(although I shouldn’t have had to) for not knowing how to order salad apparently. She then continued to roll her eyes — I have no idea at what, my apparent stupidity I guess — and proceeded to take someone else’s salad container that they were handing to their server and put my salad in it. I had to give the woman I was standing next to my salad container. Out of hunger and convenience and the fact that my soup and salad had been prepared, I paid for my meal. However, I do not believe in spending my hard-earned money on horrible customer service and rude employees with attitude problems. Needless to say, to reiterate my statement above, I won’t be back and I will tell my coworkers about this experience. Thank You.» Decide for yourselves.

Love they’re food! Lines are a bit long during lunch but they move fast. I re comment the Mac and cheese soup and their crab bisque as they are my favorite!!!

I come here a few times a month when I want a salad or soup. First the salad: the line is very long and slow moving at lunch time. I feel like the people they have working just aren’t skilled enough to add ingredients into a bowl and chop it. Go figure! Also, the portions are never consistent. Sometimes I get 2 scoops of chicken… and sometimes I get 1 measly little soup… for $ 2. However, I really like their Asian peanut dressing… so I will wait. If only they sold their dressings… Most of the soups I’ve tried are very very very salty. So salty that I had to keep chugging water the rest of the day. Stick with the chicken noodle and you’ll be good.

Solid food but way overpriced. Having been spoiled by Au Bön Pain across the street, I figured you could order one of their ready-made salads at the salad counter for the same price you would pay for a to-go boxed salad. Nope; got charged over $ 10 for a $ 7 salad. In the end, it was my own fault. But maybe someone can benefit from my mistake?

Every Hale and Hearty is pretty much the same. You go in, order what you want, get it, pay. This one is no different except for the fact that the lunch crowd can sometimes make the line go outside. They have a decent system here. One line for salads, another for soup and/or sandwiches. Then you split into separate lines, by register, to pay. There’s ample seating but it seems like the type of location where most people go out to eat. I like that you can view the menus online so you know what soups they have. This helps when you’re waiting to place your order. Overall, a solid location that knows how to handle a lunch crowd.

Whenever I’m craving a soup for lunch, I head for Hale & Hearty. They also have decent salad and sandwich options and a lot of my coworkers often opt for the soup & half sandwich lunch special. For the most part their soups are very good — I can’t get enough of the Chicken & Sausage Jambalaya! But I’ve also ran into some problems… The first time I had the Lobster Bisque once that had no lobster in it and no lobster flavor. It was kind of like they had forgotten the lobster altogether and just served me a plan cream soup. It was very strange. I decided it was a fluke since I’ve had so much luck with their other soups in the past, so I decided to order it again — same deal. Very disappointing because I’ve heard rave reviews about their Crab Bisque; strange they can’t get the lobster right. The Chicken & Sausage Jambalaya is outstanding! It’s a spicy, thick soup with lots of pieces of chicken, spicy andouille sausage and small pieces of shrimp. There’s lots of rice in it too, it really tastes like I’m eating a soupier version of Jambalaya! I can’t get enough of this soup. Luckily, they even sell it in quart sizes if you’re extra hungry or want to share!

This place gets PACKED during lunch time with line at least 10 – 20 people long so if you’re in a rush to get your food, do not come here. However, the food is worth the wait! I normally order my lunch from them via and they have never messed up my order and it has already arrived on time(or early). I love their soup selections, brownies and oatmeal raisin cookies!

What you’d expect from a typical H&H. The hours could be better to cater to the locals instead of just the week day warriors. A plus though is that the staff does a good job and keeping everyone moving, so if you do come in during rush you will be out in 15min or less.

Solid lunch choice, can’t beat the wide range of soups and if you get into a groove with your salad mix-ins I find it to be one of the better choices downtown for lunch. Salads wise the best value is to take advantage of their free mix-ins: cucumbers, carrots, red onion and croutons and then just add a few on top of those. I usually enjoy their tomato-based soups the most, including the tomato, chicken and orzo as well as their veggie chili. If you’re not sure about one of the flavors just ask for a sample — yes people in line may get annoyed but hey, you waited too, there’s no harm in trying a couple before committing. The small is super small, usually I end up going with a medium and a salad. To echo other reviewers, the sandwiches leave something to be desired, but I’m guessing that’s why it’s not called Hale & Hearty Sandwiches.

I really love the soup and salad combo! I also love how they label what is gluten free and dairy free — that’s very important to me. Not all the soups are delicious but the basics are where it’s at. The small soup is SMALL. Just beware of that. The small salad is average sized. I usually add chicken to my small salad so that with a small soup is enough for me. I like this place mainly because it’s easy for me to find gluten and dairy free items and their delivery minimum is like $ 8. What I don’t like about them however, is that their delivery guys are jerks. One guy delivered my food around 12 and there was a hold up for the elevator(because it’s LUNCHTIME) and he called me 3 times in 5 minutes telling me to hurry up. I’d like my lunch without your nasty ass attitude, thank you very much. They are also very rude to our receptionist. Their rudeness makes them lose quite a few brownie points.
