Good pizza but maybe a little overrated. Slices are usually very greasy with oil dropping and by the time you’re done, you’ll be needing one too many napkins to wipe your hands.

Gah, I think I’ve been drunk or hungover every other time I’ve been here. This time around I was stone cold sober and couldn’t finish the two mushroom slices I ordered. The crust was HARD, so much so that folding it ended up splitting the pieces in half. There was also almost no sauce. Toppings are still fresh, and the grandma slice was much better than the regular slices, but I’m not sure I’m going to be back for awhile. They do have beer, and a surprisingly good craft selection. We stuck to Strongbow Cider and Abita Purple Haze.

While the Nona pizza was solid, I didn’t think it was the best pizza in the city as declared by the Food Network. The pizza was crunchy and the sauce was solid but I think it’s overhyped. Maybe I’m more of a tranditionalist…

I actually cannot believe I’m only just now reviewing this place. This has been my favorite pizza place for as long as I had an opinion. Yeah yeah I’ve tried all the other slices in the city this is still the best. For me Joe’s doesn’t hold a candle. I haven’t really ventured to Brooklyn for the slice but I can’t imagine it’s better than here. For me it’s all about that cornmeal crust. It’s always so crispy and thin and hot and melted and perfect. My mouth is literally watering as I write this. And they have beer and root beer and the vibe is perfect. BESTPIZZAEVER

First time in NYC and I have no doubt I ended up in the best pie shop in the state. They ran out of pizza for lunch! Everybody wants a slice on this cold Friday. They had two lonely slices of Grandma left. I made it all the way out here from Denver so I wasn’t going to leave empty handed. Greg took care of me and hooked me up with the last two slices. They had even been sitting a bit and they were some of the best slices I’ve ever had! Sitting here now waiting to enjoy their award winning slice: Nonna Maria You can’t go wrong here!

Great pizza by the slice. Fresh and hot out of the oven. Not a lot of seating but people are in and out pretty fast.

So amazing. We heard about this place and were part of a free walking tour group. Really great pizza. We tried the Nonna Maria and a cheese pizza. For some reason I really loved the cheese pizza. I was having a cheese moment? Who knows? See you next year Bleecker Street Pizza!

Literally some of the best pizza we’ve ever had. I love that you tell them what you want, and it gets nicely heated and toasted in the pizza oven. A few minutes later, and bam! You’re enjoying some ooey gooey cheesy goodness with a thin crunchy crust. I’m partial to plain cheese pizza because I feel like that’s how you can best tell how great a pizza spot is. Hubby tried their popular one, loved it, and even got up and ordered another slice of pepperoni because he enjoyed it so much. We’ve tried many pizza spots in NYC, and I’d say bleecker is the best.

Perfect drunk food place. Open until late and you can grab a variety of pizza by the slice. I tried one with spinach and chicken-absolutely delicious at 3:30 am. Also kudos because it wasn’t super greasy or overbearing and I’m not feeling it at all this morning. Good stuff!

Very good pizza place! Walked in as part of a food tour in the city and this was the first stop. Thin crust pizza, topped with fresh tomatoes and basil, along with fresh mozz cheese. Everything is made fresh so it’s hot when you eat it. They don’t use marinara sauce, as the sauce is made fresh with tomatoes in the kitchen. Price is around $ 3 – 4 a slice, which is decent. It’s also rated best pizza place by the Food Network for 3 years in a row! Must try in NYC!

Very good pizza. Had the thin crust Nona Maria pizza. Amazing. Lots of oil tho! So much oil it broke my paper plate. The restauafrant is fairly small, only 5 tables. We managed to find a spot in the back on stools. The place itself is self service so we got our pizza in the front and sat down. Washrooms are a bit dirty. 1 in the back of the store for customers.

One of the best pizza places I’ve eaten at! I used to like Chicago-style pizza better than NY-style pizza, but this place changed my mind. The thin crust on their pizzas is the perfect thickness to support the large slices. Unlike some other places I’ve had, you can hold the pizza by the crust and not have the tip drooping down. The crunchiness is also the perfect amount — they know just the right time to take the slice out of the oven. Get the Nona Maria! My favorite due to the simplicity. The meat one with sausage and pepperoni, and the mushroom one, were also good of course.

You can’t come to NYC and not eat pizza at least once(or at least I can’t). And let’s be honest, there are so many places to choose from and most of them are mediocre or worse. Add to this that everyone and their brother, sister, and cousin have strong feelings on what the best pizza in the city is, and choosing your pizza place can become something of a task. I decided to make this my pizza visit on this NYC trip after a fair amount of food nerdery research. I’m glad I did too because this place was one of the two best pepperoni slices I’ve had behind only the now defunct Marc Anthony’s in Long Island. It was a really delicious slice with perfect crust and sauce and cheese. A little greasy but this type of pizza is supposed to be. I also had a grandma slice and it was definitely above average, but not as awesome as just the plain old pepperoni. It’s cheap, tasty, and not overrun with people. I will definitely come back here and would encourage anyone looking for a good slice to check it out.

I was really looking forward to this pizza! This is like a 3.5 rating! It’s somewhere there. Why? Well service was pretty quick, no problems with that. The pizza… I liked the White slice more than the Nonna Maria but they were both delicious! The sauce on the Nonna Maria was sweet and it balanced with the salt well. The White slice was delicious because I love cheese and there was a perfect amount of cheese. The only thing I didn’t like was that it was too crispy. Not sure if that’s how the sides are supposed to be or it was overdone. The crust was like a really hard cracker. I prefer fluffy crusts. Maybe it’ll be better the next time I come to try the mushroom slice. Didn’t quite meet my expectations, but it’s almost there’s. I’ll give it another shot. Its about $ 3.50 a slice and if you check in you get a free soda!

Not much to add here — get the Nonna Maria. Bleeker Street Pizza is definitely in my Top 3 for favorite pizza joints in NYC. Go in knowing the crust is crisp, not chewy. The sauce is really what makes it stand out among all the rest. My GOD that sauce. It is by far the freshest. What I mean by fresh is it tastes like a tomato burst right off the vine into your mouth. It’s not been muddled with other junk. This is a bright and aromatic sauce and together with the freshly sliced mozzerella — a slice here SINGS! There are about a bazillion places in NYC to get pizza, rearrange your list and move Bleecker Street to the top, it’s a must. Cannot recommend enough.

The claim that anything is «the best» is always a sticking point for me. Upon walking in, they make it very clear that this place is popular. The walls are adorned with photos of celebs posing with the owners and various employees. I was skeptical right off the bat. We ordered a slice of cheese, and a slice of pepperoni. My only criticism was that they forgot about us and I had to go up and remind them that we had ordered. When the pizza came out, it was nice and hot but the cheese hadn’t quite started to bubble. Now here’s where it gets interesting: I really enjoyed the crust. It was very consistently crispy and had about 1⁄8 of cheweyness before you got to the toppings. I thought this was pretty fantastic because the thing about a slice of New York style pizza is that the toppings can make a pizza soggy in a heartbeat. This chewey layer almost insulated the crispy crust against the moisture of the sauce, keeping the *crack* of the crust as you but into it. My wife, however, disagrees with me. She felt the crust was slightly too thick. But I’ll let you sort through reviews to find hers :) Was it the best? How can you say any pizza in the land of amazing pizza is «the best»? It was very solid. VERY solid. Personally, I’m a Joe’s guy. But you can guarantee I will be having one slice less at Joe’s in order to make space for my extra slice I’ll be getting at Bleeker St.

Come hungry because you’ll want to eat everything! It’s a small little shop with a lot of flavor! I only wish they had more seating — but they are located in a cute town with so much to see. The people that work here are nice, too. I was recommended to get the most popular pizza and it did not disappoint. Next time I’ll remember not to come here on a semi full stomach so I can try more! I was here and just had to have it!

Bleecker Street Pizza NY Manhattan West Village 2pm Thursday 13th August 2015 Four Stars These pizza place has many accolades and yet it did not disappoint. It’s a small store on the corner of 7th and Bleecker. I ordered a slice of the famous Nonna Maria and a Pepperoni($ 3.50). You get a free foundation drink with a Unilocal checkin! So I had a sip of Dr. Pepper from the 101 different drink coca cola machine. The slices had a crispy and buttery crust. The dough was definitely freshly made(I saw the guy bring in it). The Nonna had a nice combination of fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, and globs of fresh marinara. The pepperoni was a close second. Each bite had the greasy spicy pork taste. The cheese had a nice golden color. Overall, it was a fantastic meal. Plus the service was friendly. You should add this to your NY Pizza list.

I came here after Knick games throughout most of my childhood. I don’t care what anyone tells you. This spot has the best pizza by the slice of any place I’ve tried in Manhattan. The crust so so perfect that it’ll have you eating the slice backwards. The plain slice has delicious sauce, and the white slice has perfect cheese. It’s a small corner pizzeria, and you’ll rarely see it too busy. But they can sling pies with the best of them. If you’re in the area, stop by for a slice. You won’t be disappointed.(If you are, then you shouldn’t be reviewing pizzerias. Truth.)
