After a day of shopping with my OOT girlfriends, we were HUNGRY. Standing at the corner of Bleeker and 7th Ave S, we surveyed the options and saw this Italian place on the corner with a warm glow inside. The host/waiter was odd. Not sure if he couldn’t speak English, was«slow», was extremely intimidated by our hotness, or was just on something. The owner(I think) took our drink orders, and recommended an amazing wine. We had the calamari for appetizer, also amazing! The décor was romantic — dining by candlelight. That’s where the positives stop. We waited forever for our food order to be taken. Some confusion as to whether owner or wierdo host guy was supposed to take our order. After the wonderful wine and calamari, we were expecting amazing food. The descriptions sounded wonderful! But we were horribly disappointed. The food wasn’t bad. But it was average — my fresh tagliatelle d’alba(pasta with truffles) — tasted like olive garden fettuccine. And for the prices this was unacceptable. It was worth going once(the calamari was THAT good), but I won’t be going back.
