Great, welcoming friendly service and incredible tacos. I am not often impressed or wowed by many restaurant experiences but this one was fantastic. Flavors were explosive and Nate was great to talk to.

This place was recommended to me by another friend, so my fiancé and I went there on my birthday and it did not disappoint! These were seriously some of the best tacos I have ever had, and the margaritas that we had very pretty good as well. We got there on a Saturday evening, and the restaurant itself is tiny, only 6 tables inside, and a few outside. It was packed in there and was a pretty long wait. However, the service was awesome! There was one guy running the register, making margaritas, and delivering food to the tables and he had a cheerful smile on his face the whole time! The tacos are a bit more expensive, from $ 9 – 12 for two. However, they were very filling. My fiancé and I ordered 3 sets of 2 tacos, because we thought we could eat all of that. It turned out that 2 tacos for each of us would have been enough. We got the Curried Lamb tacos, the Calamari tacos, and the Jerk Chicken Tacos. Our favorite by FAR was the Curried Lamb tacos, such a unique favor, probably the best taco I’ve ever had. The others were very good as well, but the Lamb was outstanding. We also go the Grapefruit margaritas and they were pretty tasty and decently strong. We did have to wait at least 30 mins for our food, but the staff was super friendly and the food was well worth the wait. I highly recommend this place!

Had the Fried Fish tacos and Moscow Mule. Most likely the best ever! Great atmosphere and better food. Highly recommend it and will definitely be back.

Super tasty tacos and the loaded margarita is great! Only complaint is that the hubs wasn’t full after one order of tacos and had to order another plate… at that point, it cost him $ 20 to get enough food which defeats the purpose of eating somewhere with reasonable menu prices!

I ordered the Chorizo Hash tacos. After putting a little bit of their hot sauce on it, it was pretty good. I’d definitely order this again. My wife order the gluten free Garlic Marinated Beef tacos. After putting the salsa on it, it pulled all the other flavors together. Only complaint was the fact that her corn tortilla fell apart. It would’ve been nice if they had doubled up on the corn tortilla to help hold everything together. The wait staff were very friendly and added to the ambiance. Limited seating so good luck. Tables tended to clear pretty fast though. We’ll be heading back for the breakfast menu. :)

Slope & Hatch is a great find in Glenwood Springs for that Modern American cuisine and a place I would like to dedicate my 300th Unilocal Review to! When I saw the menu, the Californian part of me(but I am Coloradan by blood!) was confused how a taco would be on a flour tortilla and could have such interesting toppings. Alas, Slope & Hatch has made me a convert that yes, a taco can be that much more than your carne asada and lengua and can become curried lamb and chorizo hash. And then, there is the different take on your hot dogs, with your traditional choices(Chicago and Coney), but your non-conventional choices(Carolina) are winners too. FOOD: This time at Slope & Hatch, we got the Curried Lamb and Chorizo Hash taco and then for hot dogs, we got the Chicago Dog and the Carolina Dog. Curried Lamb — I must say that the seasoning on this lamb was spot on! The vegetables, the sweet potato, the tzaziki sauce, and all just mashed together, somehow I find myself transported to the Middle East. Probably my favorite of what was ordered. Chorizo Hash — With the runny egg and the chorizo and potato, it tastes like brunch in one bite. I cannot say that this was as good as the curried lamb, but it was definitely up there. Chicago Dog — Reminiscent of my many trips to Chicago as a child to see my brother, the Chicago Dog was done justice. The insane amount of relish, the mustard, and the pickle. Note that this hot dog is about 10 inches, so no laughing matter. Carolina Dog — I would definitely order this again. With the pulled pork, slaw, and pickle, it is quite amazing. Somehow, the hot dog incorporated with all of that just made the eating experience of this that much more fun. Overall, a small shop, but in our time there, the turnover is pretty fast. Note that for one order of tacos or a hot dog, the portion size is quite big. We underestimated the fact that THAT much food was going to come out of the kitchen, but we finished(like champs) because it was THAT delicious.

Glenwood is a surprising town and there is no place that is more surprising than Slope & Hatch. Hidden by construction along the railroad tracks and in the shadow of the bridge this tiny and hard to find restaurant is usually packed despite its location. They have chosen tacos as their main flavor delivery system. They do not represent authentic tacos, they go for the opposite, serving delicious and culturally diverse fillings inside flour tortillas. They also specialize in hot dogs as their secondary method of flavor delivery. Because everyone knows tacos and hot dogs are as closely associated as rhythm and blues or Bert & Ernie. However they came upon this concept doesn’t matter, it is just important that they are executing their food at an incredibly high level. We ordered at the counter with a friendly and knowledgable cashier that guided us through the chalkboard menu. The Coney Island dog was an easy choice because of the house made chili. It is a 10″ hot dog and it arrives piled with topping and a basket full of fries with house made ketchup. The hot dog was smokey and flavorful with a great snap from the natural casing. The chili and cheese on top were perfect and the steamed bun was light and flavorful. Based on the cashiers selection we also went with a unexpected choice of Fish & Chips. The fish in question was a previously unheard of pangasius(which is similar to catfish) and it was remarkable. Now I cannot wait to try it again. The batter was thin and crispy making the fish the star of the dish and the house made tartar sauce was also great. The chip(fries) were thin and golden brown sticks that are everything that fries should be. The pricing felt like a bargain at $ 10 for each item based on the quality and the generous portions.

A little pricey, but the food is amazing and well worth it, so I guess it’s not pricey at all!

So fresh. After a long day of hiking the fish tacos hit the spot. How do I even describe their pico? Perfect balance of sweet and spicy. Good portions, too. The fish tacos are 4 filets with some amazing breading. Also had the white sangria(with basil, watermelon and cucumber) which was refreshing. Bookmarked for a second visit …

Amazing tacos! I had the«Shrimp Po Boy tacos» and they were delicious! I would definitely recommend this place! It’s the attention to detail that puts it over the top. Side note: order the«loaded margarita» with jalapeños! It won’t disappoint!

Saw the great Unilocal reviews and had to come see what it was all about. This place is off to the side right as you enter the cute downtown area of Glenwood Springs, tucked away a bit but very close to the hotels. I tried the chicken jerk tacos, boyfriend had crispy fish tacos, the flavor was great although I would have preferred corn tortillas. Tacos are served with chips and salsa. Everything here is a great value. We also shared the andouille fries($ 7).out of this world! The sausage, cajun seasoning, pepperjack cheese, and sauce made for a wonderful compliment to crispy fries. If you are on a diet, the fries here are motivation to put it on hold for a bit. The service here is great, interior is very cute. This place is a good find. Check it out while you’re here!

Good place! I’d probably try somewhere else first before going back. I had the fish tacos — good, but I’ve had better — and my husband had the garlic marinated beef with an egg on it. It was an interesting combo of flavors. Not bad but would get something different next time.

This was our first time visiting and we had an awesome lunch! We started off with the croquettes and they were AMAZING! My husband got a Big Mac dog and I got a Chicago dog! The hot dogs are HUGE! His was delicious! Mine was also good, but I think there the toppings were a little too much! Not what the toppings were, they were great, there was just too much! By bun got really soggy from the tomatoes. The hot dog was good but next time I’ll ask for them to go easy on the toppings! Can’t wait to come back and try the tacos! The ceiling was really dusty! But everything else was maintained well!

Didn’t like the chorizo and egg taco and liked the fried fish taco. Small place with limited seating. I want to try the hot dogs next time. The chips were a little thick. The green salsa is good and yummy.

Tacos, taps and dogs. Who would have thought those three can be served under one roof :). These guys do… and they do a great job. I had a big valley Mac! It was delicious and huge! It comes with a lot of fries too. I planned to get two dogs… cause obviously every dog on the menu looked amazing. Tacos looked delicious too. Had a good collection of drinks. Moscow mule was very refreshing. Oh, the brownie was yummy! I was in the town for three days and every time we thought about food… we thought about this place. The service was great!

Food menu has two sections — tacos and hot dogs. I was super excited to see a Thai veggie taco and ordered that thinking, how bad could it be. The taco really exceeded my expectations and was delicious! I wish I had ordered some to go. The plate had 2 tacos and chips/salsa which really hit the spot. I also got a Moscow mule which was made very well and had fresh ginger strips. Service was quick and the lady taking orders was really friendly. My only complaint was they don’t serve tacos ala carte, so I was too full to sample anything else.

The very first place we wanted to eat taking out little getaway to Glenwood springs! Whenever I decide to try a place to eat, I always look at the rating and and menu. Slope & Hatch had both on point! Easy to find and the inside looked very comfortable to eat in. Just a little small, but there were a lot of people eating, so was a good sign! :) We wanted to try everything, but settled for a few menu items. First was the Cajun Dusted French Fries, then the Beef Barbacoa tacos, then a Carolina Dog and a Big Valley Mac Dog. Man, everything was so delicious! The fries were generously topped with Andouille sausage and pepper jack cheese. The Beef Barbacoa Tacos were made with short ribs, brisket, slaw and bbq and quest fresco. Very tender and mouthwatering! The Carolina Dog was topped with pulled pork, bbq slaw and pickles! Just like a pulled pork sandwich but with a hot dog! :) The last was the Big Valley Mac Dog, topped with special sauce, lettuce, cheddar, pickles, onions and sesame seeds. This was to mimic a Big Mac from McDonald’s …which it did! Such a great idea and tasted excellent as well! I will definitely be coming back here when in Glenwood Springs again! Love this place! Highly recommended for all!

I want to thank all of my fellow Unilocalers for making this recommendation. This has to be one of the best casual meals that we had on our trip to Colorado. It a true gift to find such a neat location with people who really care about the food that they make. We order an the vegetarian tacos and the fish tacos and shared them with each other. I really like the vegetarian taco the best, but they were both delicious. I have already told a lot of people about this place, and if you are ever in Glenwood Springs you should stop in and try this delicious food.

Popped in for a beer and some tacos on Friday night for the first time. The restaurant is pretty small but has funky décor and they play chill jam band tunes. The gal working was super patient, cool, and informative as we studied the menu, and hooked us up with a couple draft beer samples to try before choosing. Food came out really fast! Less than 10 minutes for everything. We went for the chorizo hash tacos and the margarita shrimp tacos. I’d give the shrimp tacos a 3 out of 5: they were good but definitely not mind blowing. The chorizo tacos were pretty good! My only complaint was that the egg was way over cooked. Definitely trying the calamari tacos next time. The fries are delicious, and we also had a queso crock appetizer which was pretty good, and we took home 2 massive brownies that were amazing; super thick, chewy, and glorious. Haha A solid joint!
