I have never been here before but thought I’d give them a try. First off the homeless person asleep in front of the building made me pause. I wasn’t sure to chance walking by and getting robbed or if that was the typical customer base. I did walk by him and entered an empty place. No customers anywhere. I told the lady behind the counter it was my first time there and the homeless person in front almost stopped me. She then told me that she doesn’t speak English. I have no use for a business that puts non-English speaking people working the front counter. This is America. So off my soap box on that subject I ordered carnitas tacos. They don’t have carnitas even though it is on the menu board on the wall. I’m done. Won’t ever be back to try again. Homeless hangout, employees don’t speak English and no carnitas at a Mexican taco restaurant. So that’s my review for the day

Ordered the combo with the 2 carne asada tacos. They were sooo good and big. The meat was very tasty and loved the beans and rice. It was $ 7.00 so not bad.

How they have 4 stars… I don’t know. The fakest twist on mexican food I’ve encountered. From the Heinz taco sauce packets to the extreme amounts of lettuce on the enormous double tortilla tacos. The flavors are bland and almost forced out the meats. Extremely wet and soggy. And expensive. $ 27 dollars for 12 tacos to share with my family. What a waste.

Service was bad. We pulled up through the drive thru and asked for a minute please to check out the menu & the lady didn’t even respond. It literally seemed like she walked away. A couple minutes later we were ready but she was nowhere to be found so we just sat there… She came back a few minutes later I guess because she finally said hello. Their speaker system is crap, you literally can’t hear and they can’t hear you. We ordered a wet burrito it was about $ 7, an enchilada was about $ 3, 2 chicken taquitos was almost $ 4. Total was $ 15 and some change. It wasn’t too bad, but it was a la carte(not a meal). The burrito was large, a lot for a decent price compared to other places where it’s usually $ 9. Out of 5, it’s about a 3. The cheese enchilada was good a 4⁄5. The chicken taquitos were delicious, a good amount of all white chicken in each, fried well, for $ 4 came served just 2 taquitos and some guacamole. Taquitos were a 5⁄5 but wish it came with 1 more for the price. The main thing that pissed me off was the fact that the lady handed us hot food in little to go containers NOTIN A BAG. Needless to say, the juice from the burrito and enchilada spilled and burned me. What kind of place doesn’t put your food In a bag especially when you have multiple things? Ugh Overall, don’t expect good service from here. I’d return for the taquitos, maybe in a meal, but I wouldn’t use the drive through ever again.

Only thing they get props on is the rice and beans. Besides that everything was gross. I ordered the 2 crispy beef tacos platter with a small horchata 7.10 $!! They seriously have better crispy tacos at jack in the box. The tacos here had a shell that wasn’t even made from their fryer or anything. They use the shells that are processed and from a box. To top it off the meat had a horrible taste, as if it was old and overcooked. The taste was just nasty. The rice and beans were decent. But from my experience nothing here tastes authenic!

Love their green chili verde all meat burrito and their red quesadilla. Was started by a creative white guy long ago and I love the almost real Mexican food here. Brought my customers and chemists here and they loved it too. Casual outdoor sitting area and not a sit down restaurant.

Green quesadilla is SOGOOD! Though they don’t seem to have as much cheese as they used to. I like to get it with carnitas now. Flautas, tacos, etc. also good!

Went to El Taco tonight and very disappointed — ¼/2015 I have been going to El Taco for over 25 years now. I grew up on their food and also worked their as a teenager. They have always, hands down had the best tasting food very fresh and good quality. I was informed the business was recently sold from the previous owners. I have gone to the El taco location on Florence and Firestone. The last several visits it seems the food quality and taste has changed. As the saying goes«if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.» ATTN: Business owner, if you are trying to save money to make more of a profit by changing the ingredients and the quality of food you are going to lose long time customers. This used to be my favorite place to eat, in fact I would go eat there at least twice a week. Now I have seconds thoughts about spending my money at this establishment. Just to mention a few reasons, I have noticed that you have changed the taste of the guacamole, and the rice. I feel like I am eating Chinese rice because you changed the flavor by adding a different seasoning or spice to it, in addition the rice was not fully cooked because the grains were hard. You also changed the taco sauce from the EL taco brand to Heinz which doesn’t compare. I also noticed you don’t give forks any longer but rather you give spoons. Please listen to the customers reviews and stop changing things that have made this restaurant successful. Please don’t change the recipes or taste of any of the food and what you have changed, I suggest you change it back. If you don’t, and continue to penny pinch, you will find your profits will go down by losing customers!!!

I have been eating at El Taco(both the Firestone location and when the Florence location took over the Jack-in-theBox) My favorite things are the red quesadillas and the steak/beef taquitos with cheese added to the top. Those two items are the go-to. Something has happened recently though. I didn’t give them the 5-stars because I am not sure if it changed ownership or what. The guacamole on the taquitos tasted different the last few times and the hot sauce packets were no longer the«el Taco» brand, but Heinz. If someone changed a recipe to save a few bucks, they need to stick to the old tried and true method they have used for years. It’s what got them to where they are at and what will keep them around. By the way, get some fries to sop up the cheese that will ooze out of your quesadilla and to clean the guacamole out of your taquito tray.

Breakfast burritos are great-fresh cracked eggs and all good ingredients used. Getting a little cheap in the size-sometimes the tortilla is half filled but eh, it’s okay. Still filling. Minus one star because they always overcharge me and I kinda think they may never wash their hands. Also, sometimes I see the cashier help wrap burritos or finish off food. It is not hard, people, what hands and wear gloves!!!

Best Mexican fast food in town. Red cheese quesadilla is my favorite. Bean and cheese burrito and beef taquitos are on my normal order. Service is great and food is quick and tastes great!

I’ve been to tho place plenty of times, but was not fully satisfied. The ingredients seem fresh but not authentic. Something is missing in flavor. But I like the Asada nachos. I haven’t been back in a while, but maybe I will eventually. I found another place for my nachos.

It took me a long time to try this place, I would drive by for years and it never appealed to me. Growing up 100% Mexican I am very picky about Mexican food and where I eat. However one day I pulled over and decided to give them a chance. I tried the two steak taquitos with Guacamole and was hooked. The flavor is there and the service is quick plus they have a drive thru. I have since tried the Super Burrito and Enchiladas, Everything has been very good. I recommend this place!

This place rocks and always has. They’ve kept the prices affordable and the food is consistently good and they’ve had the same staff at this location for years. BRAVOELTACO.!! I’m updating my review! Im only giving it 3 stars since they hired the young kids that have no PR skills and dont know how to say Thank you or sorry for screwing up your order. Its to bad because the older workers were the best.

Wait, this is Mexican fast food? It’s the bomb diggity for fast food. They’re fast, but not too fast. The food is hot even when you order drive-thru and finally get it home. Plus it’s affordable. My meal was under $ 8.50. Need I say more? I used the drive-thru thinking my decision would be easy. Dammit to hell, it was not. Their menu is so flamin’ extensive. I was shocked. A little uneasy. Then I thought, «Just do it. Get something that other places are known to screw up. Live life.» I ordered the #47($ 3.59). I saw steak flautas, but then wanted chicken. Anyway, these flautas were slightly soft in the middle, a little more than I would usually like, but it was stuffed full with chicken! Also, it comes with an amazing side of guacamole. I was thinking these would be skinny little flautas so I ordered a cup of beans and a cup of rice, both $ 1.29 each. This being fast food, the portions are fairly big. The beans were nice and gooey with a big mess of melted shredded cheese dolloped in the middle. The rice was okay. I usually ask for rice solely as a filler, so I mixed it in with my beans. To drink I had a small Orange Bang($ 1.39). Should have upgraded that size a little, but I had to make sure they made it up to par. The guy was not exactly audible at the order speaker, but still he managed to get my order correct. That same gentleman(at drive-thru window) was super nice… called me señorita. Hey, hey, hey now… notice the ring, bro? That’s right, it’s señora. His grin was classic. He asked me if I wanted just 2 or 3 salsas. Psssh, I ain’t no fool. Give me 3 please. The salsa comes in small plastic containers with lids, but it has a little kick, not too spicy. This place definitely makes up for a chain fast food Mexican place back in eastern New Mexico and West Texas that I’ve been missing called Taco Villa. El Taco is way different than Taco Villa, but in a good way. I might try the taquitos next time, but I really prefer flautas over taquitos any day. Review #182
