This place is a hidden gem! The chicken is juicy and flavorful. The food is a bit on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. Most items on the menu are a must try. My personal favorites are the chicken quesadilla, chicken torta or any of the chicken combos. This is a great spot for lunch or dinner.

I’m already huge fan of one of their other locations, the one located in Bell, CA. Both seem to offer the same dishes and both have desserts. The chicken is delicious! Love their rice and potato salad. I have two complaints: 1. The wait time. They take at least 20 mins to complete your order 2. Phone orders. They won’t start putting your order together until you get there, maybe they’ve had people order and never show up to pick up their order???

I’ve been eating here for about 5 years. It is my favorite chicken place so far, but I may be needing to find a new place. About a week ago I went with my Boyfriend to this place 5 min after opening. My tortillas were cold, the jamica tasted bitter and the cashier had a bad customer service attitude. Other than that… The taste of the delicious chicken never seems to fail. Customer Service depends on which cashier is working.

You might as well not call ahead because they will not start preparing your order until you get there and pay.

Los Pollos comes from Tropicana Bakery(the original for Cuban food and pastries in Downey). They specialize in rotisserie chicken, hence the name, but their menu also contains other items such as tacos, burritos, and bowls. Oh and of course, some of the pastries from Tropicana Bakery. My girlfriend was introduced to this place by her boss, and we’ve dropped by occasionally since then — it’s been about four years now. We don’t specifically go for the rotisserie chicken but for their chicken bowls. The bowls are stuffed to the brim with rice, black or pinto beans, shredded rotisserie chicken, and then topped off with chopped onion, tomato, and cilantro. They give you an option of spicy or mild salsa which is the perfect way to spice it up. Accompanied by either corn or flour tortillas, you’ve basically got a meal composed of all the food groups in one sitting. This is one of those well kept secrets in Downey. It’s not talked about much, but pay it a visit, and you’ll find out what people are missing out on.

The chicken is good and well priced, but the service is bad and the cleanliness is even worse. I think it’s the owner’s fault for under staffing his restaurant. The register lady had to take on multiple hats while I was there waiting for my chicken.
