Great concept of quality Mexican fast food crossed with In-​N-​Out décor.
Food:
Ordered an Asada Torta, Pollo Taco, and Carnitas Taco. The food doesn’t get better than this. I like their Carnitas more than King taco.
Service:
Order at counter and wait for your number to be called. Self serve salsa, onions, peppers and beans. Only request would be for pico de gallo.
Environment:
Feels exactly like an In-​N-​Out inside the restaurant. More than half the empty tables were dirty. Staff need to work on cleaning the empty booths and tables at a quicker pace.
Price:
2 tacos and a torta cost me less than $ 9. Pretty decent pricing if you ask me.

Nasty as place to come and eat. WARNING! You will be disgusted once you eat this nasty food never had a horrible taco til I came here. on top of that worst customer services. the people are so rude and they want to charge for everything even for beans. never coming back here. Restrooms are gross that tells you everything.

Place is nasty I would rather drive to any street taco vendor on Alameda for a way better taco. Asada had no taste. Carnitas where dry ass hell only goid thing was the free guacamole and good horchata.

This is my Go-​to spot for when you’re not really in the mood for anything specific, but are not willing to settle for mediocrity. They’re relatively clean and it’s pretty quick. The Mulitas are great if you get them Al Pastor. The Tortas are just kind of ‘OK’ and the Burritos seem to be getting smaller. But overall, this place won’t let you down. Also, if you go in the late night hours, you might even see a girl fight in the parking lot! Ha!

I stopped by around 2pm to eat with my wife and when I got the food I had to return my tacos because the tortillas were cold, they gave me new ones and I noticed that the meats were over seasoned the alpastor meat was so overwhelming. And those beans that they have taste like can beans instead of beans that you will make fresh at home.
Once we finished and walked out my stomach started growling I ignored it, 2 hrs have passed and my stomach still hurts and I eventually got diarrhea for the rest of the day and all night… and it’s now 12pm the next day and I still have diarrhea.
OMG…what the hell did I eat there
Be carefull what you eat there.
They have just lost a customer.
I am never in my life going back there to eat even if it’s the last restaurant on earth.

It is inexpensive and the tacos taste decent enough, but it has all the charm of a middle school lunch room and is far from the best tacos I’ve had. Because it is cheap it is always filled with people who are often jostling for position at the salsa bar. It’s worth checking out, but I’d happily pay more for greater selection, some interesting specials, and less of a feeding trough experience.

I like it better than King Taco. Taco Gavilan my favorite spot reasonable prices and carne asada does not have a lot of seasoning. I like the ingredients that you can put on tacos. Horchata is good too. I dont get the refill price no one enforces it and not worth making a long line for a refill. I wish they open one in Long Beach

Tacos el Gavilán won me over because of their condiments/​salsa bar. One of my favorite taco places to go to definitely! Before I get to the salsa bar, I wanna talk about the tacos. My favorites would be the carnitas and al pastor because to me they are most flavorful, but I’ve ordered others and they are not bad either!
Like I said before though, the highlight of this place is definitely the salsa bar– it’s all you can eat and they have everything! They have the green and red salsa, plenty of limes, the grilled or pickled jalapeños, radish, beans, lettuce, onions, cilantros, the whole deal!
To top it off, I love their horchatas, and their service is pretty fast– what more can you ask for?

Been here many times for lunch. Great tacos. Actually, what is truly great about it is the condiment bar to the side. The beans, the chili, the onions, salsa… it just adds to the whole taste and flavor of the food. Its usually pretty quick to get your food, though the line to order can be long. I’ve had tacos, burritos, and mulitas there, all very good.
Some people say King Taco is better; one of my coworkers says that. I think King Taco is good too, but they don’t have the condiment/​salsa bar like here. King Taco just gives you a little bit of red/​green chili/​salsa on the tacos, but here its all you can eat. This is the main reason that keeps me coming back here.

Got a asada burrito $ 5.99 and a taco de pastor $ 1.25. Prices are reasonable, food is average. Definitely a quick fix spot. This place has a ton of seating inside. No drive thru window. Food is prepared quickly on a assembly line. 3 stars because it is ok for a greasey taco fix. YUMMY! Open late on weekends (after 12pm it’s crawling with people that have been partying all night.)

Wow! They are super fast and friendly. Also orders are always accurate and yummy food. They call your order number out in Spanish and in English. They always have someone cleaning the dining area. Bathrooms are always stocked. Security here during the weekends. They are open late, which is a super big plus. Been coming here with my Beautiful Wifey and she got me started on UnilocalING.

i like this place alot. The asada, pastor, chorizo and cabeza is all very good .
i like they dont give me any trouble ordering 1 tortilla tacos lol. they have free pinto beans in salsa bar which is actually one of the best salsa bars ive seen as far chile and salsa selection if they added a habanero salsa itd be 5 stars all day evryday.
the aguas never are too watery or ultra sweet. i have not tried the torta yet so when i do ill update my review. but overall this spot is a solid place and my girl likes it so it makes it easy to eat here. lol 4 stars.

This restaurant is open til 3am! I am so grateful because I hadn’t eaten dinner yet at 10 pm, way out in Downey.
The menu is simple– choose your meat & what to put it on. I chose chicken «Sopes», as I had never tried one before. They were so yummy! The al dente texture, the flavor, the handy size topless style, all good.
Also, they have the most incredible delicious horchata, kind of chocolatey flavor. At the beverage bar.
The restaurant is bright & super clean, workers sweeping & cleaning often.

domingo en la noche el dia de los padres fui a comprar una quesadilla. a tacos el gavilan, cuando estaba por probar. la segunda mitad de mi quesadilla me encontre con un pedaso de papel color café, de principio pense que era carne pero se me hiso, raro por que la carne asada no estan delgada cuando la saque me di cuenta que era PAPEL no lo podia creer, le llame al manager, y dudo de mi y le tuve que llebar la quesadilla mas bien la papelisa…
