Takeniwa Asian Fusion Bistro

Solid food. Asian food is disconcertingly easy to find here in Corpus, but this seems to be one of the places that does it right. It is my go-​to for delivery (drivers are always polite and efficient); delivery time isn’t the fastest, but I have never waited more than 50 minutes.

Overpriced HEB sushi rolls. That sums it up. Service is better at McDonalds. Gave this place multiple chances and it’s been a fail obviously. It’s crowded in there people look awkward having to sit so close to other couples lol. It look clean though.

Had general tso’s chicken (delicious) with fried rice which unfortunately came out near tasteless.
Seems like there is plenty going on there for larger parties, dates, or just looking for a good time.

Awesome sushi! I’ve never tried the hibachi there, but when I picked up a to-​go order, they were on an hour wait for hibachi, which was a good sign in my opinion. And if you order online and spend more than $ 25, they’ll take $ 5 off of your order. Don’t forget to add spicy mayo to your order for the sushi!

I did the hibachi grill and received a very entertaining show! The service was great and the quantity was huge! I left there feeling like my stomach would explode and I still took a box home. The only thing was the food was incredibly salty and buttery to the point where I was just tolerating it because I was so hungry. A lot of people like that so I won’t knock them down a star. I would not advertise authenticity.

Had the Emperor meal at the hibachi grill. It’s the best tasting out of the Corpus Christi Restaurant’s.I’ve tasted way better food in other Cities .The complimentary miso soup and salad they give you is gross. The angry bird roll is good.

I’m a fan of the ambiance. Whether you want a fun time with the chef cooking in front of you for a special occasion or just a regular meal, or you want something a little more chill, they have it. They have a wide array of sushi choices (my favorite being the Mexican Roll which is crab, avacado, cream cheese, fried then drizzled with a spicy mayo and topped with a sliver of jalepeno.)

Takeniwa always comes through for me, even though I’m gluten free which is being allergic to wheat which is in basically everything including soy sauce. They always accommodate me and call me to make sure what I’m ordering is okay for me.
The Pad-​Thai is officially gluten-​free and if you order it with that bam boom delicious pork its amazing and their pork is some of the best pork I’ve ever had, it has a slight sweet flavor that makes it so good. I had my own gluten-​free soy sauce at home and I fixed it up like BAM I’m like a real boy. Don’t forget to get the TARO bubble tea it is amazing, and the Yellow Monkey roll is some of the best sushi anywhere.

Had dinner with a few friends on 01÷16÷16. Staff was very friendly and welcoming, I really enjoyed the atmosphere. We sat at the Sushibar and talked and joked with the chefs :) .now to the dining experience: I ordered a lychee martini excellent, hot sake that wasn’t hot more like room temp and the tuna stacker app was ok, the ponzu sauce I felt was overwhelming and didn’t allow me to taste the tuna and avocado to the fullest. But other than that it was a lovely evening

This is my favorite place to get a sushi fix! They never disappoint, and it’s a plus that they deliver. I’m a huge fan.

Amazing sushi! I can’t speak to the hibachi because I’ve never had it, but the sushi is some of the best I’ve ever had. It’s big and flavorful and has lots of sauces and ingredients. I always leave this place feeling happy and satisfied :)

Ok it’s Sunday morning and I know Corpus Is a small town… so eensettle for this supposes to be great… but NOT SO
General’s Tao chicken is fulled of… haizzz dont know what… but will NEVER recommend.
The server… she needs to learn how to be a little curteos to customer.
The CRAZY ROLL is not CRAZY… BUT BAD.
If I can give less than 1 star… I WILL.

I came for lunch on Friday. I had the harumaki spring rolls for an appetizers. They were served with a great dipping sauce. I ordered the Xmas roll. I was very impressed. I did also try the sesame chicken. our server Wendy was great. she kept my sweet tea full. Ahe was friendly and quick. The restaurant has many awards and accolades. I think it’s Chinese is better than Yoshi but I think Yoshi has better sushi. Its a draw for service But this is in the top 3 for sure

We’ve had several fun experiences here.
The food has always been good and the bill is what you would expect.
The place is clean and we’ve never had to wait too long for a seat.
The staff has always been friendly and accommodating.
My wife really enjoys their sushi and my kiddos love the hibachi/​teppanyaki.
I like their sushi better than anything else on the menu but the point is that we’ve all found something to like about Takeniwa.

This place was so yummy .
I called for delivery and ordered the lobster cream cheese roll, it had a spicy kick to it that I really enjoyed.
Also got the wonton soup very Delicious best I’ve had and good portion for just 1.95 !!
Only reason i had to give 4 stars was for the fried rice. I was expecting it to be as good as everything else that I ordered but didn’t meet my fried rice standards.

Muy buen japonés, el mejor de Corpus y alrededores. Gran sopa Miso, muy buenos rollitos. Se ve auténtico. Muy limpio. Un 8.5÷10

We’ve gotten food delivered before and it’s been great. Last night we decided to go there and sit down. It was just my boyfriend and myself and they sat us in what seemed to be the «birthday party» room. Full of big families with many children. I was not familiar with the layout of the restaurant or else I surely would have requested a different place to sit. There were other tables open so I’m not why they sat us there. I felt like I was at Gattitown. Our server was new so she wasn’t sure of the answers to a couple questions we had but we didn’t mind, she was new. I asked for lime for my drink but never got it. Had to ask for chopsticks when our food came out. The food was good. My boyfriend got a chicken dish off the Chinese menu and I ordered a sushi roll. His dish was better than mine. The garlic edamame was the best part.

Had a good time here yesterday. Started of with with appetizers edamame and sushi (chick fil a) roll was decent. Then next came hibachi he it was fun the guy was skilled could have entertain more but good over all i had lobster tail 39.99 for 2 tails it was fresh and buttery just the way i like it. My wife had ribeye steak 29.99 was good she like her steak well done so i cant judge that because it kills the flavor. She liked it will be returning they should ask for desert but as soon as the guy got done no body came back and ask for desert had to leave with out it .
Will be returning i bet this place has a lot more to offer. Peace!

I’m a fan! Good food and great service — according to my father who took me it is usually «hit or miss», but this time it was spot on! The seaweed salad was A-​MAZING and the «Climax Roll» was great as well, however, being a tad bit of a sushi sob, I felt like this did skimp on the amount of smoked salmon they put on top of the roll. It good though!
All around clean and very inviting — will go back.

Ok I’m from Florida and just wasn’t sure about this place but our party of 8 was very impressed, it was much better than we get in Tampa. The tuna stacker bowl app was amazing and the other sushi was fresh. All our steaks were juicy and cooked perfectly. If I had one thing to say that wasn’t 110% it was the vegetable portion was smaller than I like but I guess the monster 16oz steak made up for it. Basically all 8 of us walked out going wow, that was great. The entertainment was also above the hibachi average we were used to.

After eating sushi for so many years, I am a pretty good judge of decent sushi. First off, the service here is pretty excellent. I took about 7 minutes trying to figure out what I wanted and we got our food and paid the bill within 30 minutes. Not too shabby. The egg rolls-​tasted like very pre packaged previously frozen, sams club style. Not the best. My husband got the nabeyaki udon soup which he normally gets from Aka. He said it was very good. Also came with 3 shrimp tempura which was a nice surprise.
My tiger roll was pretty good. Drowning in a little too much sauce though. The climax roll was basically a California roll wrapped in salmon. Salmon didn’t taste too fresh which kind of freaks me out. Either way I haven’t marked this place off the list. Especially since we are so limited on sushi bars open on Sunday’s here.
