Wow, this place has changed since the last time I visited! They’ve remodeled and have a lot more seating.
The first time around, I was there for live music and drinks. The last time was for the same, but many folks in our group found it pretty hard to pass up some of the menu items – specifically the meat skewers and the burger. Nothing makes a girl want to cheat on the Paleo lifestyle more than the piping hot, delicious smelling burger and fries that got delivered to my table. Hubs literally had a meal two hours prior, and still cleaned his plate. Needless to say, we won’t be booking dinner somewhere else next time we visit.
Want to score more comfortable seating? Call ahead and ask for booth/​couch seating. You’ll be glad you did. The stools looked a little brutal!

Weird service, definitely not standard of the country but maybe it’s standard of the ownership/management…I don’t know. After being seated, we ordered water (after walking around all day in the grueling heat and humidity of Singapore, it’s important to stay hydrated) and some food. Upon delivery of our glasses of water our server warned us, «You will not be receiving any refills on your water.» Blank stares. Maybe we heard her wrong? We received our burger and fish and chips, both sub-​par. Burger had a coleslaw on it that left the bun soggy from the get-​go. Fish was bland and coating was falling off.
In exchange for our food, our waitress gave us our check and told us firmly, «You pay now.» Blank stares. I find it hard to believe that a lot of people eat and run there without paying, but… ok, we paid. I then wandered around the restaurant looking for ketchup and when I found a bottle, another server slid between me and the bottle and told me they would bring it to our table. They squirted out a sad little squirt onto a plate. Sigh. By this time our little water glasses were holding onto a few last crushed ice cubes. Our waitress made sure to hurriedly take them away without eye contact or apology. She meant it when she said no refills on water.
It didn’t help that our timing was unlucky, since as soon as our food arrived, the singer (who was awesome BTW) went on a break… so we suffered through crummy service and meh food for only a few songs.

This could have been a long evening, but after such a bad experience for our first round of drinks we immediately left and went back to Clak Quay.
One Margherita, which had a pretty strange consistency, a bulmers cider with more ice in the glass (not asking about that beforehand) and an expensive fruit juice (which supposed to be a long drink, which should have had some fruit rum in it, we were pretty disappointed. The setting is nice but it already started with a very unhappy faced waitress, who was not interested at all that we would have a good time. After returning the fruit juice with the complaint that the alcohol was not detectable, a second very unfriendly waitress turned up to serve a second long drink, with again no trace of rum in it (cross checked by 3 non drunk people) Pretty expensive with poor choices of beers. No recommendation at all.

Decent live music performances on Saturday night. Good 5 beer + 5 martini + french fries and fried chicken wings deal.

This is a nice place to chill out after an evening of shopping along Orchard. Conveniently located opposite 313 Somerset, this bar occupies the ground level of one of the few shophouses still visible along Orchard Road. They have a live band playing every night — check out their website for their music schedules. I’ve been here a couple of times and the music tended towards radio-​friendly hits executed acoustically, so you can expect lots of singing along by the audiences when you’re here.
Shared a bottle of white wine among my friends which was disappointing but I can only blame our bad judgement for that. Also tried their Cantonese Chicken Wings and Truffle Fries. The wings were juicy and crispy, but could have been better seasoned. The fries were perfectly cooked with a crispy shell and mushy potato flesh, my favourite type of fries! Soggy fries lovers, please move elsewhere. Unfortunately, the truffle flavour wasn’t that strong.
Came here at about 10pm on a Saturday night and got a table easily. Service was friendly and polite, I had no problems with them at all.
