Five Tapas @ Cuppage

This place promises a lot, but delivers very little. The location is great, the service is reasonable but the food is horrible. I had the Toasted Baguette with some Guacamole — it was the most tasteless and weirdest looking guacamole I’ve ever had. With this, I ordered Beef Carpaccio and the Parma Ham with Rock Melon. Like the previous reviewer, I found the Parma Ham & Melon a total disappointment — melon good, ham awful. This was served alongside some dead looking green leaves. Same for the Beef Carpaccio — but this was actually hidden under the sad green leaves. It wasn’t worth searching for either — just awful. Tasteless and boring. I won’t come again.

This review is based on my visit in April.
I was there at 5pm, ahead of everyone in my group (those workaholics). So I started with the first of my many Asahi’s that beautiful evening.
I chose a long table for 6 outside. Smoking area with a giant fan blowing at the table. How convenient!
Service was prompt and so friendly!
Every single staff was on their A game. (Good work, manager!) Who by the way, was there, too.
Menu for tapas is huge. Most items I ordered were good. I want to say, bigger servings would be great, but then yeah, yeah, TAPAS…
I had stuffed mushrooms, meat balls, spicy pork belly cubes, garlic cockles, beef carpaccio, whitebait, beef burger, truffle fries and more I really cannot remember. I blame the Asahi beer.
Only one thing I was a little mad over. The Parma Ham with Rock Melon was disappointing. I had higher expectations for it!
However!
Live band (didn’t catch the singer’s name but she is really, really good) made up for everything.
Will I be back? Oh yes indeedy!

Read about this place online whilst searching for cheap bars in Singapore. Genuinely does sell beers and spirits for $ 5 which is awesome! Location is really good being on orchard road which is packed with bars and restaurants. Seating outside is atmospheric being one of the better locations Ive had a drink in the city so far. Service was quick for food and drinks and the tapas was what you’d expect for $ 5!

The service is terrible and the food is okay. The location and the outdoor patio is its saving grace. I had to flag down a waiter and I sat 10 feet from the bar! Salmon was just okay. There are plenty of other places around.
