First and last time here. Came during lunch hour on a weekday with several coworkers and I decided to build my own burger(BYOB) which consist of brioche bun & salad(no fries) + 50⁄50 house blend + mushrooms + mozarella + house mayo. My side salad was hardly a decent serving size. With 2 lettuce leaves, a quarter of a cherry tomato and 6 slices of raw onion rings with a heavy drizzle of asian toasted sesame dressing — made me feel like I was eating more dressing and onions instead of a salad. They claim their buns to be pillow soft, and they are. Sadly the 50⁄50 beef and pork patty was dry and too crumbly to hold itself together. I was hoping the house mayo would help but the amount was too little compared to my salad dressing! My coworkers had the set lunch which came with a soup of the day, which all agreed that it was too salty.

The Grind Burger Bar(TGBB), in my opinion, has really good burgers. The first time i tried was a few months back as I was around that area. Its easier to find parking in the evening compared to the day in that area due to limited lots. Luckily, TGBB only opens in the evening and parking would not be a problem. The restaurant was quite empty when i went there since it was a weekday. I ordered a JD burger which is a burger with Jack Daniels sauce. the serving size was just nice for one person and my burger with a side of fries were served on a small wooden chopping board. A good job with the presentation. The burger tasted really juicy and delicious. The JD sauce enhanced the flavor even more and made the whole dish amazing. I even dipped my fries in the remaining JD sauce as it tasted really good. I have not gone back there in awhile but writing about it now makes me feel like eating it again. Time to try out all their other burgers !

The Grind Burger Bar is located along the same row as The Humble Pie. In fact, they are just a few doors down from The Humble Pie. I’ve passed by the eatery numerous time, but never once thought going in to try the food. My friends and I came across their menu the other day and decided to go there for lunch. The eatery is spacious with simple interior, and the staffs were very friendly. We noticed they have set lunch menu at RM16.90+ which include soup of the day, mains, and 1 drink. There were 1 hotdog, 2 burgers and 1 pasta to choose from. Instead of having burger, I decided to have the Big Black Dog — pork sausage wrapped in charcoal bun, sprinkled with chili and bacon. The bun was soft, the pork sausage was smoky and crunchy. The spices in the chili goes very well with the hotdog too. As for both of my friends, they chose the burger instead — The Cheeseburger and Teriyaki Chicken Burger. For the Cheeseburger, you can choose to have beef patty, pork patty or 50:50 from each. Iwen chose the 50:50. The bun was ok and the patty was juicy. However, for a patty consists of beef they are lacking in some taste. I would wish to taste more of the beef. The Teriyaki Chicken Burger was not too bad too. The chicken was well-seasoned and tender. I was worry the teriyaki sauce would be too aggressive, but it turned out just fine. Our burgers and hotdog came with herbed fries. Frankly, I don’t taste the herb and they tasted like normal fries to me. On a positive note, the fries were not oily. Our meal came with a «tiny little» salad. There was only one lettuce leaf with one slice of onion with drops of salad dressing — it was so little that I’d rather it wasn’t there. Our soup of the day was Mushroom Soup. It was another average dish for me. I did not taste the earthiness of the mushroom in the soup and the garlic bread was a tad too oily. Overall, I enjoyed the burgers and hotdog a lot but I can’t say the same for the soup. Although they are a burger bar, they have some non-burger options such as Shepherds Pie and pasta on the menu too. The service was fast, and I think it’s worth a try.

I came here one night for dinner and the road I took to get here was super dodgy with minimal lights. I blame waze for this as there was actually another way in. Anyway I went in and the atmosphere was really really quiet, there were 2 other tables occupied but somehow with the lack of music everyone seemed to be whispering to each other or talking in low voices. Not a very comfortable ambience for me to be in. Anyway, I tried their big black dog, which is something I’ve never seen in other burger places so definitely something different id like to try. It is basically a pork bratwurst topped with chili pork with a charcoal bun. It didn’t disappoint me and it’s definitely something to try out if you’re feeling bored of having over populated burgers.

I’m very much a sucker for places that is non-halal. Knowing that, I decided to walk in and see what this place has got to offer. It was a hot day and instead of choosing those open concept cafes on the same row. This seems like the next best choice to eat on such a day. The decoration gives you this raw yet vintage feel with the pictures hanging on the wall. It wasn’t too pack as it was quite a late lunch to begin with. Besides burger, they have spaghetti and sandwiches and salad too. Of course I’m gonna recommend you the burger, pork one! The grind burger and JD burger are my top choice. Jack Daniel sauce and burger is just heavenly. Stay away from the fish burgers, they are not as tasty as the pork or beef.

Burger joints have been mushrooming around the Klang Valley over the last 3 years, that it has become more of «where’s the nearest joint?» Instead of actually pursuing that elusive burger heaven where the first bite of that sesame freckled breast of an angel sends you to enlightenment. Unfortunately The Grind Burger Bar just isn’t it. The grind does serve one of the most varied menus relative to other burger bars, with entrees such as the Swedish Meatballs which are made with a combination of ground beef and pork drenched in a rich brown sauce and served with fries, and a side salad. If anything stood out for me it had to be the onion rings(RM9), they were wonderfully crisp with adequate amounts of onions and not the kind you get at fast food outlets where it’s merely flour rings with some onions. Overall The Grind has some of the better beef patties out there however what sets it apart is the crazy amount of choices available from pork burgers to JD Burgers.

I quite liked the cozy atmosphere and the simple tasteful get-up of the joint but immediately craved for something that would have enhanced my experience, albeit softly in the background, some music. Nonetheless, I was somewhat pleased that the place wasn’t packed on a public holiday, but was visited by a couple or two and a family. Frankly, I pardoned the slight slow service when I noticed the elder and lone man behind the bar. Having being warned that this place is known for its pork and you don’t come to a pork place and order otherwise, I ordered«What the Fish». I have never understood people whom ate their fries before or after finishing the burger, because I think that it is meant to be eaten together! Crisp and carbs to refresh your bites, they are almost equally as important. I love my fries. But, though they were real-cut potatoes, my herb fries was limp and really oily, most probably due to it being fried when the oil wasn’t hot enough(Note: We were there before lunch time). My fried Seabass fillet was tasty enough and not over-fried, but I couldn’t tell if my bun was soaked in oil or in the vinaigrette dressing. I’d give my burger a 6⁄10. Tried James’ JD burger and was atoned by the juicy and tender pork that was falling apart on his plate. It was tasty, moist and noticeably home-made. Needless to say, he didn’t bother trying mine. So, perhaps my choice did not do justice to this burger joint and I may or may not make the effort to go back and try again.
