Great food we love the Singapore noodles and beef chow fun. And it’s a great location to people watch.

Okay, here’s the run down. The location is prime and the restaurant is appealing from the outside. We were craving Chinese so I came here with 2 other people on a Tuesday afternoon. It was fairly empty, only a few tables taken. We sat outside because it was a nice day and Ashley was going to be our server. Keep in mind we got there at around 1:30pm… Ashley comes over and takes our drink order(just 3 waters) takes her 15 minutes just to get us water. We order one order of veggie spring rolls(comes with 2 that are cut in halves) and one order of chicken wontons as the starters. We also put in our entrée orders at the same time We got the general tsos chicken with fried rice, orange chicken with steamed rice and walnut shrimp with steamed rice. Everything is a la cart so all the rice is extra charge. But how long does it take to make spring rolls and wontons? We waited and waited(keep in mind the restaurant was pretty empty) Everything took so long, the service from Ashley was terrible, she hardly came to our table and when she did and we asked her for something it took her forever. She had no problem assisting the other tables, I don’t like to presume it was a racial issue but come on Ashley! We had a 4th party join us and she was on a tight schedule during her lunch break so when she asked Ashley to process her payment separately so she can leave, Ashley responded by saying«I have to help the other table» umm okay how about you help us for a second? We asked for a box, took her 20 minutes to bring it so we ended up eating more of the food and when the box came there was a little hair or lint in it. Not okay. The food: Meh, it was basic nothing great. As much as I don’t like Panda Express I’d rather go there because at least I know they’ll serve me with a smile. Never again chin chin. 2 stars just for the location and parking in the back

Jay’s friendly hello made my day. I believe it was only his second day on the job but he was so genuinely friendly and his«How may I serve you,» was authentic and kind. The wonton soup hit the spot and warmed me to my core. The sesame chicken salad was refreshing with a great dressing. I believe this is even better than their famous Chinese chicken salad. The wait for food was a bit longer than I anticipated but the service was great and the food good. This is the perfect spot for an easy, casual lunch.

wide rice noodles very bland… white rice seemed to be instant rice not asian rice from a rice cooker. the veggie leetuce wrap saved the meal. also eggplant was to greasy with lil flavor. The manager came by we told him our opinion he offered to refire and gave us glass of wine.

The quality of there food over the past year has gone down a lot. The chicken did not taste like chicken. I could not even eat the food. The atmosphere is very nice but the food the past three times I have came were not very good

Great location was open for years! Free parking in the back. Food will satisfied any picky connoisseur vegetarian options available. Love the way they serve green tea in a cast iron pot! First when got a table was waiting for a bit but manager Ali apologized and gave me the best service I ever have! Thank you!

Best Chim Chin evet! Erik has been helping us since 1992 and is the most devoted employee. The server, Courtney was kind, helpful, professional and accommodating. She had a very empathic way of being and was very attentive. I have been eating her through the metamorphosis and appreciate the new changes and lighting while the salads are simply delicious and not duplicatable! It is a pleasure to acknowledge Erik! He has brought up a 12 year old son and a 21 year old daughter while holding this job for over 2 decades! Go and order Chinese chicken salad with or without chicken and the cilantro Szechwan dumplings! Enjoy!

First time dining at this location. Service was great– prompt and accurate but the inside needs a little TLC. We ordered the Szechuan dumplings– stuffed with chicken and dressed with a cilantro sauce– too salty with overpowering sesame oil flavor. The chow Mein with vegetables– would it have been difficult to dice-chop-slice-etc., the vegetables to edible pieces? Flavor not bad but nothing special. The shrimp fried rice-average; the shrimp is very small(100 – 150 for those of you who understand shrimp sizes) the Crispy Spicy Honey shrimp was good, bigger shrimp(30 – 40)but not spicy — wish they used less batter, better quality shrimp and more crispy. Last but not least, the Kung Pao Three Treasures– mix of chicken, beef and shrimp with water cashews(my favorite) and mix of vegetables. The beef was thick and chewy-not appealing, I don’t remember seeing too much of the shrimp and then there was the chicken — u can’t really go wrong with chicken. Couldn’t cut the long story short but if ur craving Chinese just save ur self the sunset traffic and go to your nearby Panda Express

Not good. Came here for lunch after many years of not eating here and it was an absolute disappointment. The Mongolian beef was not eatable, the chow main was way over cooked and the restaurant was not clean as it should be. Our waitress however was nice and that is the reason for the 2 stars.

First time eating here. Food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The chicken lettuce cups, although on the appetizer menu, is a portion that will satisfy your hunger and without the guilt of carbs ;-). Mango tea was also delicious.

Location perfect! Outdoor seating even on cold nights thanks to heated lamps. Staff very friendly and attentive. Food Very very good ! Décor nice and elegant. Chin Chin has quickly climbed to one of my favorite chinese spots that Iv’e tried from New York and Los Angeles. The staff was very friendly and talkative making you feel very welcomed. We asked what she would recommend for an entrée, and she gave us her honest opinion. General Tso chicken, Flavorful, juicy, soft and mild, a perfect combination. Amazing Chicken broccoli: Nice, crisp flavorful broccoli with very soft juicy chicken. Pork fried rice, fluffy flavorful, perfect side dish. Pepper steak, the weakest link of the dishes ordered, and that is not to say bad, i would give this dish a 3.5 out of 5. though soft and tender, the fvalor was missing a bit. Delicious, but needed something to give it that further kick into wow territory. For the other review complaining about grubhub, go complain to grubhub. Don’t tarnish this restaurants reputation. Price was great staff was wonderful food, nice juicy lots of flavor, and soft. location is great. Definite check out. Will come back again.

I am writing this review as a British guy constantly amazed at the craziness of rules imposed by crazy people. I just placed a substantial ‘to go’ order. One of the dishes was for a child and grub hub rang me to say that Chin Chin don’t deliver kids meals. I might understand if it was the only meal ordered and it was not cost effective but outside of that it is just craziness of the highest extreme. Furthermore there was no mention of this fact on Grub Hub. I had to upgrade the meal to an adult size which Chin Chin should have paid for as a result of the inconvenience but alas they didn’t. Shame on chin chin, Grub Hub talk some sense into these crazy people!!!

My friend and I decided to get dinner n her neighborhood. She is one to stick to places she’s been to before and likes, but was up for exploring. We were going to Med Café(she’s been there quite a bit) but ended up here, right across the street. They have seating both outside and inside, but we opted for an inside booth. The place was pretty quiet at 7pm, but got busier throughout the night. The hostess and servers were all in training that night, so everyone was very attentive. I’m not sure how it usually is, but it worked for us. We ordered quite a feast to share. Portions are large and we had leftovers(rice and noodles). This is what we got: Shrimp Chow Fun– good amount of large shrimp and very big portions. Not my favorite though. I love noodles, especially chow fun noodles because they are wide and flat and fun, but this dish was a too salty for me. Sauteed string beans– probably my favorite dish, crispy, hot and flavorful. It came with some sort of veggies(i thought they were shallots) but they were extremely salty. If you avoid those, you’re good. Chinese Chicken Salad– very light and refreshing. The ginger dressing is not like a normal chinese chicken salad dressing. If you’re not a ginger fan, get a different dressing on the side. Huge portions. We both enjoyed. Veggie Dumplings– large, crispy and filled with a nice variety of veggies. Sauce was a bit weird(on the side)-sort of like a duck sauce but very watery. Cheesecake with strawberry sauce to share– good, large slice, we didn’t finish it. We actually ordered their deep fried cheesecake, but this came out. I didn’t say anything, because do we REALLY need a deep fried cheesecake?! Plus this was 2 dollars cheaper and we really just wanted a little. All in all it worked out. Overall, the place was fine. The place was nice inside, friendly staff, food came out quickly and we didn’t feel rushed to leave when we sat there for 10 minutes after paying the bill since we were waiting to meet up with friends. However, the food was just OK to me. I’ve definitely had better«Chinese» food elsewhere, but I would recommend the Chinese Chicken Salad since that is something different and really good.

Came to eat at Chin Chin for the first time today and really enjoyed myself. While we were part of a large party(group of 25 people), the waitstaff truly showed exceptional service once things got rolling. We sat outside along Sunset Blvd in a cute modernized patio setting. As we waited for our food the waiters brought out drinks and always kept us as their priority. There was never a delay in refills or unanswered requests. Our food came out quickly and was satisfying. Due to our party size we had an incredible amount of food and each dish was unique in flavor. Family styled portions enabled us to share and partake in favorites like walnut shrimp, spicy shrimp, chicken fried rice, veggie spring rolls and chicken chow mein. Every one really enjoyed the good food and the service. Besides the menacing noise created by the loud speeding luxury convertibles, the patio setting is definitely the way to dine. Since the portions are favorable in size, don’t hesitate to share and take part in trying a new dish. The pricing is typical for the area and restaurant quality, so expect to be treated well and eat good.

I guess we are spoiled in Montréal, because most places I’ve eaten here have higher ratings than they would have had they been in Montréal. This place is no different. We ordered several appetizers — won tons, spring rolls and summer rolls, and several main dishes — general Tao chicken, sweet and sour chicken, and spicy beef. I am not exaggerating when I state that this food is no better than the chinese food you’d get in a mega mall food court. In fact, I’ve had better food in the malls(way back when I was crazy enough to eat it). So fine, the food isn’t as good as mall food, but why only one star? Simple, because the food was terrible, and yet very expensive.

I’ve visited different locations of Chin Chin across town, but this is the one where I seem to frequent the most. Although it’s been a while, my go-to’s were still available on the menu, and that consisted of their pear salad, gift-wrapped chicken, and fried rice. However, this time around, it wasn’t as good as I remembered. Gift-wrapped chicken was always a little on the salty side(and for me to say that, it’s a lot) but this time, the fried rice was right up there with it. I suppose having the two of them loaded up that way within one meal was a little too much. I would continue to order this, perhaps just on separate visits next time. As for their pear salad, it was fine. Blue cheese crumbles, walnuts, and cubes of pears throughout including the ones sliced on top didn’t disappoint. Service at this location has always been tops. Props to Joshua who finished putting my stuff together(nothing spilled and everything was packed neatly) and Michael K, one of their managers.

4 stars for the food, BUT5 stars for Karim(hope I spelled it right), our server. He was thoughtful and attentive(but not overbearing). I had the Chow Fun with Shrimp. The noodles were fresh and had a nice texture. The dish was a bit over seasoned, but still good. I would order it again, but probably ask if it’s possible to have it with less salt /soy sauce. I didn’t know that they offer a kids menu — didn’t see it, but heard the table next to us get it.

What I most enjoyed about Chin Chin was the fact we got to sit in the outside seating area next to the sidewalk. Great for people watching, although you have to put up with all the ridiculous loud revving of engines of the luxury cars and even the non luxury cars that would pass by lol! The salad was nice and tangy. It had nice tasty pieces of chicken in it and just the right amount of crispy thingies in it. The Szechuan dumplings had a tasty cilantro sauce and were quite good. The Orange Chicken was just ok. The Seafood Noodles were not bad. Service was pretty good and they let us sit where we wanted! They have free parking in the rear and the lot is pretty big. What can I do without here? Nothing I can think of. What makes Chin Chin stand out? Really great people watching! Four stars! This place is really ridiculously good!

One of the main advantages of Unilocal is you get to see your friends’ reviews first when you check out a business. I SHOULD have done that for this location BEFORE coming here! Not a good dining experience! We USED to go to the Brentwood location years ago, and loved it. So, when we found ourselves in this part of town we figured we’d come here. Wrong choice. First problem was with the wines. We asked for a sample taste of two different wines, that are offered by the glass. One glass of white wine and one glass of red were brought, and both glasses were HOT just coming out of the dishwasher! We sent them back and ordered new wines, with the glasses iced down first! Gee! Our meal order was simple: One chicken salad for my wife, and one steamed fish and spicy eggplant for me. My wife’s plate came out in 4 minutes. When she was more than halfway done, my plates came out. So much for dining together! Then, I sent the eggplant back because it was sugary sweet and no garlic or chili could be tasted. The second plate was not any better, but I just ate it. The good news is the fish was good. The chicken salad however was all iceberg lettuce. … Not as we remembered it. I wonder how we’d feel about the original location now. …but I don’t intend to find out!
