Service is very slow(waited over 45 minutes for food after order) Food is awful — bad quality.

I didn’t know this place was closed. This was not a bakery, it was a restaurant. Anyway, I would give this place three stars because it is good for the price but not exceptional. The waiter and the busser were having some strange competition or disagreement the entire night. They were both kind of pissed. Not the best.

Hi I’m French from Paris and I can tell you that the food is NOT authentic at all and not good. It is also overpriced compared to the quality. Fries are over cooked!!! It is such a disappointment. People that say that the food is good do not know good French cuisine and most likely have never been in France.

I have been unfortunate enough to dine here several times. Yes, you read that correctly. The first time I dined here was in late July during the day. I ordered a chartreuse neat and while I was thrilled they had it, it was so damn old it had stuff floating in it. Ugh… I can’t really remember what I had instead, which I think speaks for itself. As far as the food is concerned, I would have rather kept my old, contaminated chartreuse and had a liquid lunch. Yeah, their food is that good. Le sigh… I had a quinoa salad of sorts and specifically requested a vegan dressing. Did they get it right? Nope. Come on, it’s Hollywood! There is simply no excuse for screwing up a simple request for dairy free/egg free dressing anywhere along Sunset. Btw, the second AND third time I dined here the exact same thing happened. Pretty disappointing if you ask me. Apparently they missed the«third time’s the charm» memo. I try to be polite when I am someone’s guest, but after the third time I had to request that I never be taken to this awful place again. Their liquor is old, food is subpar, and lack of attention to detail crosses this place way off my list. Do yourself a favor and choose any other place you can find. I guarantee no matter what it is, it will be better than Le Clafoutis.

Watching the sunset last night on their patio overlooking Sunset with a Shirley Temple(with extra cherries) there wasn’t any where else I wanted to be last night. If you’re not sure what to get, order the Chicken Sunset.

I didn’t like the bread. The bread was hard and cold. Wrapped butters were squashed or may have melted once. They didn’t have clean square shape that made me not want to touch them. I’m sorry that I am starting my review with something I didn’t like, but I just haven’t had that bad bread for a long time… I guess I’m a little shocked. But Crab cake was good. I also liked the salad that came with the cakes on the same plate. Scallop risotto was also good. Asparagus, cherry tomatoes, and mushrooms were well cooked. I also liked how they cooked scallops. Crispy outside but juicy inside. It was delicious. I wasn’t really sure about Sunset sauce on the chicken dish. The color of the sauce was orange. I tasted the sauce a little, but it wasn’t creamy but more watery. It also tasted kind of plain. A glass of Sauvignon blanc was always good. The restaurant was pretty, and our waiter was attentive. This restaurant is supposed to be a French restaurant but more like French American with a little touch of Italian. Everything was just average. Just average.

I definitely recommend this place. The food is delicious and they have great service. The Salmon, Calamari, Tuna Tartar, Filet Mignon, and some apple crusted dessert(forgot the name) are super tasty.

I have been eating here for twenty years and this spot is ALWAYS on point. I love the chicken sunset. Always have and always will. I recently came for brunch and I was thoroughly pleased. I truly enjoy coming here. I am never let down and I plan on coming back and sitting on the patio enjoying the California weather! The desserts are also awesome! Enjoy! There are spots on the street and also behind the plaza. The lot is huge behind so you won’t find a spot.

Food was good. It took forever to come out, but overall enjoyed the entire experience. Seafood fettuccine was two thumbs up, pass on the gazpacho. The waiter was very friendly and took good care of us. The three stars is for them being understaffed. Don’t understand why we waited so long when the place was fairly empty. Good people watching spot though, some interesting people around this part of sunset. Would come back again.

We were here for dinner on February 15th2014 Service was terrible! The lemonade was tasteless as well as the sprite! They fixed it The food I ordered was wrong! And when I asked them to wrap the rest of my good TOGO, they forgot!(while we were waiting for almost 15 minutes!) The quality of food was good! and this place has a good ambiance! I don’t think I’m gonna try this place again!

There was so much going wrong at this place it’s hard to figure out where to start. First off my club made reservations at this restaurant for dine la. We also spoke to the manager I believe his name was Frank. or Franc to be french or something. anyways we made reservations for a party of 20 and since my club is a hospitality club from school we asked if it be okay for a brief tour of their restaurant. After everything has been agreed the night before we are suppose to go they call us and say they aren’t doing the dine la event anymore. Apparently dine at la took them off the list. Well the day before isn’t something u tell a party of 20 that they can’t come and it will be most difficult to find another restaurant that is willing to cater to that many people on short notice. Especially since most of us took the day off from work to attend this club event. So that being said, they did still agree to honor the menu that they will adjust for us which sounded great. The next day we got there all together, seating was nice and view was great. The restaurant was 2 levels it was so weird that the kitchen and bathroom was down stairs. As we asked to tour the restaurant the server said the cook or chef said we are not allowed in the kitchen and the manager was no there and no where to be found at the moment. So we couldn’t even say Frank said it was okay. As I briefly looked in the kitchen I can see why they did not want us going through there. It was trashed or anything just messy and I can feel the grease coming out. It was a bit diaturbing. We ended up deciding not to view because of the miscommunication. It seems like there was one cook and 2 servers 3 to 4 bussers. Appetizers was okay I had the ravioli and my be had the salmon salad. Entrée was the part that was very disappointing. I ordered the steak medium rare as well as 4 others. All came out medium well or well done and eating it was like eating jerky. I told the waiter and all he said was okay and gave me a blank stare… at this point I expected something like an apology and asked to take it back so I can actually enjoy a med rare steak. Nope. I was like. ok… and he said what did u want me to do. Personally, I don’t like to send my food back bc the fear of them adding anything extra into it drives me crazy. Yes I’m paranoid. y steak wasn’t that bad. it was bad. But wasn’t as bad as the other 3. Two of them asked to get sent back bc it was dry and wasn’t tasteful so I asked him to take it back of course he had that face like Goddd! More work. My bf got the salmon he said it was okay and my colleague said his was flaky and dry. After everyone ate and dished were taken away… 20 mins later the other 2 steaks came. Correctly this time. It actually looked good. Dessert time. The server brought a sample tray with 5 different items. They all looked delicious. He served the other half of the table first and explained to them what each item was. Then he took the tray back… and totally disregarding the other half of the table. 10 mins later when the first half got their dessert and about half way the server brought back the sample tray dropped it off and left. It was unti k the other half of table was done eating he came over and asked what and which ones did we like. I want to say he had a attitude but it wasn’t so distinct that I would be like wtf. luckily our colleagues from the other half told us which ones were which and how they tasted. Finally we got our desserts and of course.. no utensils. Not surprised. Also to top it off I ordered coffee and it took forever for me to get it until they brought it to me in The middle of meal and never came back to refill it after I drank it down to the bottom. Not only that, I had to use one set of utensils throughout my appetizers and entrée … and when they took it away on my entrée expecting a new set it never came even after the server set down our plates and walked away. Last but not least they had the audacity to add 18% gratituity for themselves. Excuse me… tips are given based on the customers discretion of the service provided. If it wasn’t for my president saying it was okay bc she on the other had a good experience bc she was on the better half of the table I personally wouldn’t have given them anymore then 10% and that would be for for the bussers efforts not the service. Funny part that happened was after the meal I asked the server to take a picture of our group instead of taking the camera he got behind my group and waited for me to take the photo… uhhh… hello? I need to be in the picture sir bc it’s our event. not urs. I had no idea how he got that mixed up. Overall experience 1.5 stars. 1 star for the decent table view of the city. Traffic was horrible!!! At least they had their own parking area… otherwise im never coming here again nor would I do anymore bookings with this restaurant. Everrrr!!!

Came here on New Year’s Day with 2 of my girlfriends. Upon arrival, they sat us all the way in the back for I don’t know what reason since the ambience surely wasn’t back there. But in the front. We even asked why they say us back there. So, Instead of accommodating for us they say: «oh we don’t know, why sorry». There were several empty tables in the front. But she never got back with us about the seating ordeal when we wanted to move. She had procceeded to bring out food so at that point we were just like WHATEVER about everything. And decided to just finish the appetizers we ordered and get out of here quick before it stiked midnight. I don’t know if the waitrers were tipsy. It became the highlight of our evening because it was hilarious how we all thought the same thing. But Ill just leave that at that. smh I ordered the escargot. It was $ 16 and I only got 6 tiny snails WITHOUT the shell. Like WTF was the small fork for? I mean for that price I was hopping to at least get it with shell that shouldnt even be complementary they should have been left in the shell to begin with. I asked for bread to soak up the garlic olive oil, the waitress brought it. BUT none of us at the table had even noticed after 10 mins went by. Otherwise one of my friends would have said something. She had litterally dropped it off at the table without even bothering to acknowledge us or asking if we needed anything else. amazing! Very disappointing service for the kind of place I thought this was. I guess expectations lead to disapointments. I’m even more pissed that I forgot to check in on Unilocal that night to get a free glass of wine. Because I probably won’t be going back there again. But it’s not my loss. I have plenty of wine at home ;)

This place was able to accomodate 10 person reservation on a Friday evening a couple hours before we needed it. Should have been a red flag right there. All the other legit spots in the area were fully booked. This place is a like a dingy half decent hotel. Employees are bumbling around and what seems to be the manager or owner is just watching films on their smartphone at the bar not managing anyone. Service — Terrible Food — Worse We ordered drinks when we sat down to enjoy while we waited for our food. 10 minutes later no drink and we ordered food. Food comes and then simple drinks like wine, not mixed cocktails came after the food.. . The food seemed to be reheated garbage. Someone ordered chicken and sent it back. We ordered tuna tartare and it was SUPER fishy. They also were super confused with their own Unilocal deal. This place is a huge dissapointment.

Came here with a large group for dinner. Although I’m giving this place 2 stars I must give it up to them, this was one of the few restaurants in the area that would take such a large reservation just hours before. We were seated in the very back at a large table with a nice view. The décor is boring and did not stand out to me at all. Service was pretty bad. Very very slow. Did not bring out bread until we asked. At least there was no attitude, that I noticed. I shared the ahi tuna tartar and burrata caprese. Ahi tuna tartar was fishy. I had one bite and did not want any more of it. Burrata caprese was good. I liked the pesto sauce it came with and dipped a piece of bread in it. Someone at the table ordered a chicken dish with fries. They thought the chicken was so dry and bland that they had to send it back. It was nice that they had a Unilocal check in deal for a glass of wine and I also tried their mojito which was small but tasted ok. Overall, bad service, not great food and pricey… I would avoid coming here.

If you an old school taste of classic French Cuisine, this is the place to go. I was quite surprised this place wasn’t busy on a Sunday night given how delicious their food is! We ordered: –Escargot: So tender! I used the bread(made on the premise) to soak up all that butter sauce. –Tuna Tartare — I had no idea how great tartare tasted so well with the pickled ginger that was mixed in with the salad. Fresh, sweet, and sour, very refreshing –Fanny Bay Oysters– No horseradish? Wasn’t used to it, but surprisingly, I didn’t need it! Oyster was so fresh, a bit of lemon goes a long way. –Grilled Octopus was another fantastic dish that is a must try. Not as great as Superba in Venice, but it ranked high in my book of favorites. –Warm Goat Cheese Salad-They were out of Branzino, so I opted to make it this a meal. The waiter suggested I added grilled shrimp to my dish and it was probably the best idea yet. Shrimp was grilled perfectly and so, so great! Bravo! –Filet Mignon, WOW is the only word I can describe. Crispy on the edge, perfect medium rare in the middle. Didn’t even need any of the sauce it came with. –Salmon, yes what a boring entrée, but when it’s cooked perfectly, it is the perfect selection for a main dish. The owner also owns, «Between Us Bakery» next door. I liked their Macarons and Pecan Tart but had their Strawberry Short Cake for the first time last night and I was blown away at how fresh and delicious it was. Not heavy nor too sweet. **They’re changing their menu by next year and I can’t wait until they do! Gotta give it to the French and their classic cuisines.

The french onion soup is worth a whole star alone, easily the best i’ve ever had. Unfortunately the escargot was the worst, just drenched in oil and very soggy. Crab cake and kobe beef burger were good but nothing to write home about, not worth the price, but these are not good things to order at a French restaurant. Service was far and away excellent but at 4:30 we were one of the few tables in the place so I would hope so. Also good drinks, strong mojito and excellent key lime martini. Free sunset strip parking is also a big bonus. For what you get it’s too expensive to be a great value but prices are understandable considering the location. I would definitely go back but order some things more appropriate

It’s hard to argue with the location or people-watching at this place. You can sit at a small French-style table right on the Sunset Strip and pretend to be a B-list celebrity. That’s where this place stops being above average. I came here with a large party for a birthday with a reservation and were seated without having to wait. For appetizers, the cheese sampler was sub-par as the goat cheese and greens salad in the middle were the only thing I really cared for. The blue cheese, gouda, and last cheese on the plate were very ho-hum. As for the meat sampler, the sausage and pepperoni were too oily and too salty and I didn’t care to try the prosciutto or what looked like bologna. For entrée, I ordered the filet mignon, medium-rare. The steak came out medium-well(but it was delicious) and the potatoes au gratin were just okay as were the asparagus, broccoli, and carrot. I was really looking forward to the dessert because others were raving about them. Also underwhelmed by the black-cherry pie. Overall, there was nothing special about the food. If given the chance to eat here again, I would likely pass.

So I preface this posting is about my encounters with the restaurant management. As a frequent Unilocal reviewer I welcome anyone to see that I try to write quality reviews and do not write critical reviews unless fully warranted. This was one of the most offensive experiences I have had with restaurant management. I purchased a living social deal to try Le Clafoutis because, overall, it had decent reviews. The deal expired on a Sunday and so I made a reservation for that day with a guest. We showed up and saw that they were closing early. We talked with a staff member and he said they were sorry, but they had to close unexpectedly. However the staff talked with the owner, took down my information, and said they would honor the full deal on a future date of my choosing. Today I came back with my deal and I explained the situation to the waiter. He talked to the owner(Eric) and came back with surprising news. The owner would not honor the full deal(only the paid amount) and did not have my name anywhere. He also informed me that owner would not be able to come and talk to me because he was«busy with other things.» I explained to the waiter, I wouldn’t have known that they closed unexpectedly on a certain date unless I had been there that day. Regardless, the owner would not talk to me and would not honor what was previously offered to me. We actually left and did not use the purchase amount of the deal that remained. I would rather lose $ 20 than dine at such a poorly run establishment. A place where the owner will shut early on the day of a deal, to me, is basically trying to cheat its customers. I showed up with a reservation and was turned away. But there may have been other people who showed up without a reservation and may not have been able to use their deals as well. Los Angeles has countless quality restaurants that treat their customers with courtesy and respect. I see no reason for someone to try this establishment unless you do not mind a place that has a low priority for their customers.

People watching here on Halloween… I am at the age where people watching along this popping sunset plaza street is fun enough than the usual outlandish & flamboyant Weho Halloween Parade just a jump, hop, and a skip away from here. I had great dinner with my sis and got a great seat write up in the indoor /outdoor table overlooking all passer-bys… I loved the 3 older aged men dressed as platinum blonde nurses sitting at the table next to us. I also loved the punk rocker manager who came by to check up on us many a times. It was an added bonus to see all the other people dressed as ghouls and gobblins at a few tables around us too.

Here is a picture of a soufflé: I am literally angry with this dish. I should have sent it back, but there was no way I would be waiting for another. Besides, I am sure it would be worse than the first. Imagine a dry, floury brick served outside a ramekin that tastes like a Batty Crocker box cake and has the texture of a lump of dirt. Now imagine calling it a soufflé. This is a French restaurant. The first item on the dessert menu is the soufflé. Yes, it is a technical dish, but any cook with minimal experience can follow recipes and watch the clock. That is all a soufflé takes. I made souffles at home dozens upon dozens of times and my worst one was never near what I had today. To serve this«thing» with two ramekins; one full of whipped cream and the other two tablespoons full of vanilla cream and take over half an hour to make is ridicules. Honestly, if you can’t do it right, just take it off the menu. It’s okay. No one will blame you. I am not gong to review the recent brunch I had at this place, nor am I going to mention anything else since I have nothing better to saying. What I will do, is implore you, the reader and the owners to take a good long look at the rating details for the past 6 months. Whatever you changed between June and July, clearly does not work.
