If it’s not one thing, it’s another with good ol’ Fresh East. We’ve had our ups and downs… loved it at the opening, but the food quality fell off suddenly. Then they stopped using compostable packaging(judging only on one take-out order that had more standard stuff, plastic utensils and the like). Boycotted. Husband unknowingly broke the boycott, but the compostable packaging and meal quality had improved. Gave them another go. The last two visits have revealed a new problem… mystery hours? I showed up on a Sunday a few weeks ago after calling twice on my way over to place a pickup order — both calls rang forever then went to fax sounds. When I arrived it was all locked up, with a «closed Sundays» sign in the window(this is new). Fine. Maybe throw your hours up on your voicemail, but otherwise changing hours is your prerogative. Walked over today, arrived at 12:49 hoping for some lunch take-out. The rear door was locked up, but we saw employees inside, so we walked around front. Completely blocked off with a ghetto«Closed» sign in the window, which stated 12pm as the opening time. Again, this is just before 1pm. So we called their number, no sense in walking somewhere else if they were going to be open in 10 minutes. Watched the employees inside ignore the phone. Awesome. Posted hours on their windows and are still 11a-10p 7 days per week. It is COMPLETELY up to the business to set whatever hours they want, obviously, but it is also their job to inform customers of said new hours. If I can’t show up around 1pm on a Monday and find them open, when exactly can I expect to buy their food? I’m going to go ahead and guess«never,» because that seems to be the new trend. Fresh East, you are going to lose a lot of customers this way. I was so angry today seeing just how little you seem to respect your customers’ time — if I take the time to come to you to buy some lunch, it’s your job to be open when you say you will be. If you want to maintain flexible hours, make it known and post something like«open for lunch and dinner mon-fri,» you know?

When Fresh East first opened, I quickly became a regular customer. I was happy to see it was a «green» restaurant and I wanted to support a biz that was doing something cool for the environment. I’m a bit of a creature of habit and I tend to order the same thing over and over so after a while, I kind of ODeed on its delicious Spicy Garlic Noodles and its burger, which is served in the Korean bulgogi style — strips of marinated beef spiced with chili peppers and herbs — Yummy! Shortly after the restaurant got a wine and beer license which made the visit even more special, — I stopped going. I recently returned and discovered it had a new menu in place and although the old menu was rather limited, the new menu offers a larger variety of food options. I had the F.E. Sandwich which is similar to the Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwiches — marinated meats, grilled and served on a French baguette. The crusty bread absorbs the juices from the meat and truly it’s a winner. The menu also has more noodle dishes and rice bowl varieties. It also has a variety of different Asian sauces that you can add to any of the dishes and they differ in spice levels. The restaurant is fast food, but served in a new manner. You can actually see the chefs preparing your dishes to order in the open kitchen area. It’s opened late and has outdoor tables so you watch all the traffic walking to the local bars and clubs. I’m happy I returned and promise I won’t stay away for long periods of time ever again.

I have regularly been ordering lunch and dinner from Fresheast for the past few months. I’ve tried several items on the menu and enjoyed everything. I especially love the Spicy Garlic Noodles and the Larb Gai Bowl. My carnivore husband even enjoys Freasheast and usually has the Bulgogi sandwich. I say give them a try! Fresheast has several options and most of their dishes can be made vegan, vegetarian or with your choice of meat.

This place is good in theory. Healthy, organic, sustainable utensils and all that other«green» politically correct guilt free kind of eating stuff going on… but the food is lacking. I’ve tried their sandwiches, plates, and drinks but everything seems underwhelming. I think the food has the potential to be decent but I can’t tell when it’s doused in sauces that masks everything. And it’s not even balanced delicious sauces, they’re mostly salty and overpowering. The drinks are light and good but kind of overpriced for what it is. The mango lassi was more yogurt than mango and kind of has this chunky curdled taste going on. And the melon-ade was really subtle but watery. Bottom line, you could do worse around here but I just wish this place tweaked their flavors some more.

I have always had a love for ethnic food. I’ve never met a curry I didn’t like. The only thing I can love more than ethnic food is possibly fusion food. Fresheat fuses Indian, Thai, Korean, Japanese and Chinese cuisines together in a healthy, fresh way. What more do I need to say? When I first saw the menu I was in a state of extreme bliss. It’s like they took ordinarily tasty dishes and gave them exotic makeovers. Luckily for me I was able to sample a few things and report back. Uh– amazing. Fresheast was bursting with new and exciting flavors causing me to have serious mouth-gasms The five spice salmon is to die for. It was cooked to perfection and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. Garlic Noodles, and the tofu were phenomenal. The portions are massive. You can easily share every dish. If you’re not super hungry and you want a serious dose of healthy, get the fresheast juice; it was chalk full of fresh fruits and veggies. P. S. They have a ton of Vegan friendly options. Are you starving yet?!

What a great, easy, local spot to get fresh food with great ingredients. My favorites are the salmon with the 5-spice glaze and the garlic noodles. I always ask for a little extra of the 5-spice glaze and pour it over the noodles as well. I tried the palak paneer, which wasn’t my favorite. It was a little bland. However the red lentil dal that was served with it was wonderful! And I am not event a huge fan of lentils. Their Fresh East juice is the perfect pick me up, when I feel like my body is craving fruits and veggies. It’s chucked full of beets, kale, spinach, and apple juice. It’s bright purple and tastes great. The atmosphere is super low key. You order at a counter and take a number. All the products they use are biodegradable. They are very ‘green’, which I definitely appreciate and I particularly love that they use organic ingredients. I still want to try more of their dishes! Especially some of the dishes over quinoa like the curry chicken or goa shrimp.

I love this place. I always call and get it delivered to my hotel when I’m in Hollywood. Fresh Asian Fusion delivered right to your doorstep and at such a great value! Here are some of my faves from the menu, but I’ve never had anything from here that I didn’t like: Korean Chili Noodles Cold Somen Noodle with house chili sauce, fresh steamed broccoli, spinach, tofu, bean sprouts, and cucumber kimchi. 5 Spiced Glazed Salmon Organic Salmon, brown rice, steamed asparagus, topped with 5 spice glaze and green onions. Bulgogi(A Korean specialty) Harris Ranch Natural Beef Bulgogi with fresh wok’d vegetables. Fresh Coconut Juice served in an actual Coconut!

Delicious! Everything on the menu sounds amazing. I decided to try the Bulgogi. It was a great choice! The vegetables were amazing. The meat was so soft and it just melted in my mouth. I didn’t love the rice. I think that is just my personal choice. I am picky when it comes to rice. The staff was super nice and friendly. I will definitely come back again. If you come for your lunch hour, come with time to spare. I waited for about ten minutes but it was worth it.

I love this place! If you are in the mood for relatively healthy asian-inspired food for takeout, this is definitely the place for you. I seriously love everything I’ve ever ordered there so… take your pick! You’ll probably be happy with your order. Parking lot in the back — Awesome.

I can not express just how much I love this place. I work right down the road, and it’s a convenient place to have lunch. It’s right next door to my bank, and in the same shopping center as Pavilions. A few friends had ordered there before, so I decided to try it out. Their food is natural/organic, which makes me feel a bit better for stuffing food in my face. They deliver for free, but sometimes it’s nice to take a little walk and enjoy the sunshine while munching some miso chicken. Each dish always has fresh vegetables and tastes like something I would make myself. Plus, make sure you try out their melonades! Depending on what they have, you can have squeezed watermelon or cantaloupe juice with sugar! It’s a perfect summer treat.

Great prices for made to order Asian fusion cuisine! My favorites are the miso chicken, yakitori chicken, and spicy garlic noodles. Definitely get the melonade — so good! All prices include tax. Some people bring their laptops and they have several tables and bar seating that have power outlets.

I’ve tried their house wine(yummy) and they have fresh coconuts, what more could I want? I didn’t actually eat the food, but it looked pretty tasty; must go back to try it!

I had a Groupon for Fresh East so I decided to stop by here last week to pick up some food to go. Having never been here before, I was just about to park at the meters when I realized that they didn’t take card and, alas, I had no change. I drove around the next street expecting to pay at a lot when I discovered that it was actually part of the Pavillion’s shopping center and parking was free! I went inside and discovered the place was very clean. The staff was very friendly and, although there appeared to be many diners, my order was taken quickly. I ordered the lamb curry and was served within about 10 minutes. The lamb came in big, tender chunks that almost seemed to fall apart in my mouth with each bite. Yummy! I’m also a big fan of curry, any curry, and this curry earned my respect. It was served on the side of the lamb and was more of an Indian style curry. I do prefer my curry on the spicy side, which this was not, but it was still tastey nonetheless. I’m sure if I requested it they would have accomodated me. The meal came served with brown rice. I ordered the beef with steamed rice to go for my girlfriend and she seemed to enjoy it as much as I enjoyed my lamb curry. My experience here was really good. It’s nice to know that there is a fresh, healthy, alternative Asian dining experience right around the corner. I’m sure I’ll make my way back here soon.

I was introduced to this place through a Blackboard Eats $ 15 for $ 30 discount. In West Hollywood, it should get 5 stars for parking alone, since it shares that massive lot with the fancy Pavilions. Even without the discount, prices are reasonable — about $ 8-$ 10 per dish. Portion sizes are fairly generous, both in terms of the amount of meat and rice. The quality of the ingredients are also nice. You get great Asian flavors without the grease and everything is pretty fresh. We had the Korean Spicy Noodles, Larb, Spicy Chicken, and Bulgogi. The korean spicy noodles were good, the highlight being the cucumber kimchi. I could not get enough of that stuff! Definitely something I’d have again, if not just for that. The Larb was my least favorite of the dishes. It was tangy and lacked more depth of flavor. The person at the counter recommended the spicy chicken and it was good, but my heart belongs to the bulgogi. Yes, I thought it was that good.

Woah, lots of negative reviews here. I went for the first time last night, and although the food was not 5-star spectacular, it was pretty good. Definitely NOT1-star bad. I had the FE burger, and though burgers are pretty hard to mess up, theirs is actually delicious. It’s a thick 1/3″ patty covered in tender bulgogi and green onions. Came with a side salad, and was very filling. The place is a ‘go up and order and we’ll give you a number’ sort of deal, the ambiance is very similar to Veggie Grill. I can’t comment on the other dishes, though I also tried some of the Mongolian Chicken. It was your run of the mill Mongolian any-dish. Tasty, covered in sauce, lots of onions, you know the drill. Anyway, this place deserves 3 ½ stars for the food, but the service was really great, so all together, it gets a 4.

He said the Melonade is like getting kissed by Jesus. The buff cutie coming out of Fresh East that is. So since it was lunch time, how could i resist a sell like that? Had the BBQ chicken with brown rice and veggies. It was spicy, fresh, wholesome, and delicious. For the health conscious this is your spot! The Melonade was very refreshing, although I’m not sure it was quite like getting kissed by Jesus… Still, if you find yourself in WeHo around lunch or dinner time, I would certainly recommend you drop in for some good tasting and good for you nourishment. And have the Melonade will you! It will make Jesus happy.

This place is indeed fresh and has a light and airy ambiance. The plates that you get your food on are really cool and completely biodegradable. The value that this place brings is that you can get all kinds of Asian food. Korean, Japanese, Thai. However, the flavors are lacking and a little bland. The dishes are decently priced and the service good. The wait time for the food is a bit long but that way, you know it is made to order. Good for the quick fix, but not authentic. TIP: Free parking in the lot behind the restaurant.

We arrived back in LA off a flight from NY hungry but too exhausted to go anywhere, so after looking up the menu online, ordered a bulgogi bowl and an indian curry bowl from Fresheast, which were delivered as promised in 20 minutes — hot, savory, spicy, fresh, and delicious. My fiancé is Korean so I was quite amazed that she finished and enjoyed the bulgogi bowl, since she is a very harsh critic of any food advertised as Korean. I would have been happy to get my Indian curry bowl at any Indian restaurant, except that it was far less oily and fresher, with large pieces of good looking vegetables, than any curry I’ve seen before from a restaurant. Impressive delivery service and excellent food. I’ll definitely be ordering delivery and visiting Fresheast again soon.

Location, location, location. Unfortunately, that’s the best thing that this place has going for it… it’s right on a busy corner by a lot of the West Hollywood nightlife. In all fairness, everyone working there seemed very nice, and that’s certainly worth a point or two as well. And the food was tasty, it really was. Why only three stars? Price and portion. My friend and I spent about $ 10 each… which I get… isn’t that much money. Except that we’re both big dudes and they were definitely serving princess portions. My bulgogi sub, as delicious as it was… didn’t satisfy a 6’6, 215 lb. guy. I could have eaten two of them. Maybe three, if I was really nom nom nom’ing. My friend’s rice dish was similarly petite. We stopped at Yogurt Stop on the way home because we were still hungry… and I dove into some leftovers after THAT because I still wasn’t feeling like I had a real meal. I understand, we’re in WeHo and half of the population are aspiring anorexics, but it doesn’t help when the restaurant seems on-board with that mission.
