Absolutely loved this place. Front host girls were nice, or waiter was fabulous and the food was great. Happy hour was amazing. Shared some foods with a friend and had brought her here for her birthday dinner. Great.

Stopped here after a day of shopping and had a pretty decent glass of wine with lunch– we also had some of the sushi and it was good, but nothing worth writing home about. In fact, pretty unremarkable. But I do remember the wine! Isn’t that the most important part anyway? I did like that they had a lunch menu on the weekends, saved us some $$$.

Great for late night. We are seated right away and always receive good service. They have a good happy hour menu. Decent drinks. The bartenders are not very knowledgeable so avoid ordering anything difficult or fancy. As for food, all is good except the chicken. The beef with broccoli is delicious. The veggie tempura one of my personal faves. The garlic noodles are yummy. But stay away from anything chicken on the menu, the chicken is never cooked right and rubbery.

I wish I could actually review the food, but after two and a half hours(yep — 2.5 hours) I still haven’t received my delivery(GrubHub). Wokcano claimed they delivered it twice, and that it was given to a «man» in the lobby. Um — hey Wokcano — did it ever occur to you to maybe ask the«man» for identification? Perhaps to see the credit card he used for the purchase? It’s obvious you gave the food to the wrong person — TWICE, at that — and your sheer stupidity has now made me ravenously hungry. Then — to make matters worse — after GrubHub issued me a credit and an apology, you had the nerve to tell them that I was dishonest. ME? How the f$^k am I dishonest? I never got the food because your drivers are too f$*king stupid to ask the person picking up the food what their name is! You made a mistake. Twice. But the fact that you compounded it by blaming a paying customer who has been waiting 2.5 hours for dinner is inexcusable. This is Los Angeles, and I don’t care how good your food may or may not have been — there is much better Asian cuisine than the stuff your drivers give away for free to random people. Go f$&k yourselves.

Came here two nights ago, Sunday, with a group of 6. The food was gets this place 4 – 5 stars as everything came out as expected. I am a huge fan of this place(as you can see from my prior review). However, the service this time was beyond horrible. The waitress from the get go seemed like she did not want to serve our table. We ordered plentiful food, sake and were generally easy with no real complicated orders(bigger order, more tip). Regardless, she was very friendly with other tables but very cold and dry with ours. She also managed to screw up our order a bunch of times. For appetizer, we ordered hand rolls. 4 baked salmon with avocado and cucumber and one spicy tuna, all on soy paper. The baked salmon rolls came after the appetizers, the sushi and the 3 other hot dishes. The spicy tuna never came until we asked for it and she was adamant we didn’t order it. Before that, the monkey brain sushi we ordered never made it to our table until we asked where it is. Again, she said we did not order it. These were just a couple examples of how forgetful and horrible our service was. I was a very consistent customer at the 3rd street location years ago and the service was incredible under Alex even tho the hostess there was pretty stuck up at times. lol. This location however has always had shaky service. It’s a shame that amazing food has to be devalued due to crappy service.

They have an open kitchen! So when the cooks have coughing fits all over your food, you can see with your own eyes that they don’t bother to wash their hands. Who’s hungry?! *cough*

I ordered delivery, and received some of the worst sushi that I’ve ever had. I was unable to eat most of the sushi. The only thing that was edible was the salmon sushi. Everything else was so fishy and disgusting that I could not eat it. What a waste of $ 60!!! I will never eat here again! I really wish I could get my money back.

My girlfriends and I left the worse service ever at a near by location… we came to wokanos and was blessed to have Aaron as our server. We asked him a million questions and he was able to answer them all. my girlfriend ordered calamari And she told us that the calamari was undercooked. Aaron came and she asked can I return this… he took it without any questions. Came back and said. I apologize and it’s been taken off. His Energy was great and he turned our night and mood around. Food: we ordered chicken fried rice, wonton soup, edamame with sea salt, veggie egg rolls, spicy tuna roll and our favorite Korean bbq short ribs.

While walking home with my takeout I planned on writing a 2 star review. Now i’m home and eating the food while I write this review. Down to one star. When I ordered the Pad Thai I asked for NO Shrimp. I’m not a picky eater, but I do have an alergy to shell fish, including shrimp. I’m picking Shrimp out of my Pad Thai now. When I walked in to Wokcano, the plan was to order takeout from the bar and have a cocktail while the food is cooked. Simple. Done it many times at any restaurant in the past. Not at Wokcano. After ordering the cocktail, the lazy bartender(«Shannon») told me I had to order the food from the Hostess. WTF… Really? Okay, While sipping my cocktail at the bar I called the Hostess over the phone. Can you believe this? — Why couldn’t Shannon punch Pad Thai — NOSHRIMP in the computer when she typed my drink order in? …no service, no tip. F-you Shannon! PS– When paying the bill for the food at the hostess stand, I overheard another customer complain about another problem AND then I herald the 2 girls behind the counter talking to one another about some other problem.

If I could deduct stars from this restaurant I would!!! The first time my boyfriend and I ordered from this place they cancelled on us out of nowhere without a reason. We decided to give them another chance and this time they not only take forever but they deliver the WRONG order. We ordered rice, chicken, and lo mein noodles and received sushi… not even close! NEVER ordering from here again! Wasted our time and we were so hungry both times!

suggesting Asian food for lunch today my friend Thomas recommended Wokcano at Sunset. He ordered shrimps with broccoli, I the curry chicken. I was expecting fresh vegetables and chicken cooked in a wok as discribed on the menue. The dish served looked like an overcooked stew however — mashed up and colorless the vegetables. the chicken soft and rubber like. After trying a bite I had to spit the chicken out. the whole dish just was disgusting and definitley had not been cooked fresh. the most unpleasent experience I ever had in a restaurant. I had lost my appetiite and skipped lunch. My friend liked the shrimps.

Just decided to splurge on a 50 dollar lunch. MISTAKE. I was so excited to eat sashimi in ponzu sauce and I was just delivered dry fish with no ponzu. I called to fix it and they were rude and claimed the yellowtail is splashed in ponzu. Don’t taste it, don’t see it. Hmmmmm. Won’t be ordering here again.

When we showed up and gave our name, they were short and rude about being 5 minutes earlier than our reservation. When we sat down, it took 15 minutes to get a waiter to even come to our table cause no one knew who should help us. The wait continued throughout the night. We had to ask someone to send our waiter any time we needed anything. When we spoke with a manager she just apologized and said she would send our waiter. The food was great, but not worth the horrible service we received for the evening.

Worst service ever! Writing this as I walk out the place– that’s how compelled I am to communicate to anyone considering coming here to have a nice dinner. Our waiter was so rude it made us feel so uncomfortable, dropped the Moscow mules and food on the table and almost spilled. Of course he didn’t even say his name, from the bill his name — Omali. He not only had the worSt attitude but also neglected out table the whole time. The food was not bad but the waiter definitely ruined our experience at this place. Do not come here if you don’t wanna leave with a bad taste.

TLDR: Dining here is like having«Doctor Of The Year» tell you that you’re test results came back and that you’re HIV positive. It’s a realllllllllyyyy disappointing experience but the service is pretty good. Everyone else: The food here sucks. Simple as that. I was fooled into going to this place because like 2 years ago I saw that this girl I know went on her birthday, and when I asked her how it was, she said it was good. I’m sure you assumed that I defriended her over such a thing, but no, that’s not my style. Having poor taste is restaurants is no reason to defriend someone. Parking: Parking is chill af. There’s a structure on the grounds. Le Ambience: It’s pretty nice in here. Some people may say its zen. I’m not quite sure what zen means because I’m a dude and dude’s don’t use that to describe anything. I must have went on a week night because there wasn’t very many people there. Service: «fuck off» will literally be the only thing on your mind if you eat here. The waiter will ask how everything is. The manager will ask you how everything is. The CEO will ask you. his neighbor will ask you and so will the neighbor’s mother! Shit, if you end up going there, don’t be surprised if a zombie comes walking through the door to ask you how everything is, it’s probably just the neighbor’s mother’s mother. You will be asked this more times than the amount of breaths you take during your entire meal! Food: The food is the biggest disappointment of the entire dining experience. I can only assume that when ordering sushi, they are literally fishing for it to order. If you’re ordering a noodle dish, they are probably out harvesting the wheat. I’m not trying to say the food is fresh, I’m trying to say that it takes an eternity for it to get to you. Spicy Tuna Roll — It was ok. Came out soft. Salmon Sushi — It was ok. A lot of rice. Garlic Noodles — This is the main reason I won’t go back to this place. I was expecting these garlic noodles to taste like the ones at Kickin’ Crab or EMC Seafood. They tasted like the noodles from those places were rinsed under a sink for an hour and were then lightly dusted with parmesan. Definitely not recommended. Vegan Kung Pao Chicken — Thanks for trying to do something vegan. Thanks for effing it up. Price: The world is not a fair place. Wokcano makes sure to let you know this at the end of the night when you get your bill. Final thought: Don’t go here. Please. If you’re in the mood for asian food, there’s a Sushi restaurant up on the 3rd floor.

Great food all the time. I come here once a week and i can say that the food is consistently tasty. This is my new go-to sushi spot. Sushi’s very fresh with a tasty variety! Soup is served hot and fresh. You can tell by the veggies being NOT over cooked. Gotta give it a try

Wow! What incompetence and terrible customer service! I arrived at 3:29 and was handed a lunch menu. As I was being seated, I asked the hostess«can I still order from lunch menu?» She assured me that was fine. The server came over(and it was exactly 3:30– the cut off time as stated on the menu) I was holding the lunch menu as I pointed to the teriyaki chicken ONTHELUNCHMENU and was later billed 16.00 instead of the 8.50. I hate whiny people so I’m not gonna go through all the details but the interaction with the server and the manager after all of this was dismal at best and they begrudgingly took five dollars off of my bill and acted as if they were doing me a great big favor! For a while they kept telling me they could do nothing and that the hostess was new and did not know what she was talking about– all I can say is I’ll never go back to this restaurant and I think they need to take lessons in customer service.

Is this place serious? They have signs all over the front of the building about Football and Sunday. Drink specials! Games! Football headquarters! Since my buddy and I like low key spots to watch games, we figured this would be a nice little spot and we could eat something other than wings and burgers. But, of course, like a careful man I called first. «Are you guys showing the Pats/Jets game,» I asked. «Yep, we have it!» he answered. I said thank you and we ubered over. That’s right, we got into a car that costs money to head to wokcano based on the fact that they’re showing the game. Guess what? It’s not a football headquarters. They have time warner cable and only had one game showing in standard definition. They don’t have Sunday ticket so you can only watch the national game. They have three TV’s that are very weirdly placed and impossible to even watch and enjoy. If you’re looking for somewhere on a Sunday, or some place that has football, or some place that doesn’t lie over the phone to get you in their busted-ass jank restaurant… leave this place alone.

I just had a terrible experience at this location. We ordered for delivery but since delivery was going to take 75 mins we decided to pick up our order. We get to this location only to find a disorganized staff. At first they couldn’t find our order(which we had already paid for) and then after making us wait for 5 mins we are told that our order was sent out for delivery! It was my first time trying this location and needless to say it’s my last. It’s amazing how some establishments hire such incompetent people.

Best Orange Chicken I’ve had in LA. I came here for lunch. They have lunch specials between 11 – 3:30. The Orange Chicken is seasoned perfectly with scallions, red chile, and an orange sauce that gives it a tangy spicy flavor. You can have it with white or brown rice. They also give you a salad before the main course. Service could have been a little better. Other than that I will come back and try the Spicy Garlic Chicken and Honey Walnut Shrimp on the lunch menu.

Wokcano has a great spot, bang on Sunset Blvd it gives you great views of the area. The décor is very warm/modern chic. Very spacious layout so it lets you breath and be comfortable. The servers are a delight. quick to respond and know their menu. This venue is also a great date spot. Its has warm mood lighting that sets the mood. We ordered some Spicy Salmon rolls– this was tasty but not amazing. Fried rice: Was fresh, light and delicious. I found the food slightly over priced. They seem to do a lot of take out as containers were constantly being packed and taken, that also delayed our food a bit which was annoying. But mostly a good experience.

Two Words: Wokan GO One of the better Wokano’s. I think the best one is in Santa Clarita. This place is awesome! You walk in during afternoon and this place is bumping with music. It was a bit too loud, and the servers kindly turned it down a notch. Chill vibes here. I ordered the sashimi deluxe and it came with huge«chunks» of tuna, salmon, and albacore. I didn’t like the thickness of the sashimi. Sashimi is supposed to be thinly sliced. The servers here are extremely friendly and they truly care about their patrons. I would have given this place a three stars had it not been for the superb service. I would go here for lunch, but not dinner. Although, this would be a nice place to stop by for drinks since there is a movie theater here. Note: –Parking: 90 minutes free if Validated

I’m impressed. Really. I walked in thinking it was going to be dark, slow and quiet. Instead, there was quite a crowd for a Wednesday afternoon, fun music was playing and it was beautifully lit, not to mention the wall of windows on the right side of the restaurant. Food was excellent– flavorful and not greasy. I had the Mongolian Beef and loved that it wasn’t too busy. Service was very attentive, thoughtful and all around great. Thanks for the positive experience!

This review is based only on take-out(thru grubhub). I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and tastiness of the dishes I ordered. I had learned not to have high expectations when ordering delivery late at night,(especially from asian restaurants), but the food was pretty good, but not good enough for me to dine-in. I ordered: — Unagi fried rice(they really don’t skimp on the unagi, lemon zest is a nice touch) — Crispy orange chicken(good) — Beef & broccoli(not bad) I would definitely order the unagi fried rice and crispy orange chicken again, but I don’t know about the third.

YOUTHINK you’re coming here for the Japanese & Chinese food, but little do you know, you’re really coming here for one menu item that is very much neither of those cuisines(at least not prepared as such). THEGARLICOLIVEOILROASTEDBRUSSELSSPROUTS! These were certainly the main event when I ate there, and my party & I definitely ordered some dishes that the restaurant is known for, ahem, Chilean Seabass… But wow, these Brussels sprouts TAKETHETHRONE! Crispy, yet not burnt at all, they give you the mouth feel of CHIPS yet leave a delicious olive oil taste in your mouth(not a salty residue leading you to want a diet coke). I would have ordered a few more sides of the Brussels Sprouts but let’s be real… No one’s intestinal tract agrees with them after they eat 4 bushels of this crucifer vegetable! ;) however, I really wanted to risk it! Thanks willpower! The rest of the meal was good, although I think next time I am in the area, I will get a few sides of the sprouts TOGO and head up stairs and try the other sushi restaurant– since I’m on a «try new sushi joints» kick!
