I wish it were better. Feels oily, and overly salty/saucy. Lots of menu items, but my pickup order took 45 minutes, how is that possible? That’s what they say delivery takes. I was there within 30 minute and then had to wait another 15⁄20 minutes, at lunch time. And there were only two tables seated in the restaurant.

It was a rainy, cold night. The kind no one wants to go out in by choice. Yet, the delivery team was still working to ensure all orders were delivered promptly. Since my last review, the manager reached out to me which I appreciated. In good faith, he sent out a fresh order of the same item — General Tso Chicken and this time it was just as I have had it in the past. Very moist, hot and tasty. I definitely plan on returning!

My boyfriend and I found this spot on Unilocal. We were craving for Chinese food and so we gave this place a try. We love their house special crispy beef and their hot and sour soup. After that experience, we’ve been dining in and also ordered take out as well. Every time we order from here, we’ve never been disappointed. For those around the area, you should give this place a shot especially if you have cravings for Chinese food!

Chinese food in LA that tastes good is hard to find. Kung Pao bistro hits the spot! I think their best dish is the Kung Pao Chicken(just a coincidence that part of their name is their best dish :)). I’ve been here a few other times and you can’t go wrong with the beef & broccoli, eggflower soup(has peas & carrots in it, yum), and Mongolian beef. They share a parking lot with Whole Foods so there is almost always convenient parking here.

The food was so freakin good AND, I ordered the house rice & I can eat that for three or four days the portions are big… Great meal. However the egg rolls were horrible!!! Mushy vegetable filling & flavorless.

Probably the worse Chinese food I’ve had. I didn’t finish my food. I don’t know how they’ve been in business so long! Wish they would move to make room for more parking in the whole foods parking lot.

I love Kung Pao Bistro! I have been dining here for MANY years, clean food, simple, quick service Whenever I’m feeling under the weather this is my fix. Note* I’m vegetarian and always get the same things… vegan hot and sour soup and pan fried vegetarian dumplings, mu shu veggies. I’ve also been able to get many friends addicted to their hot and sour soup!

Besides the very first time I ordered from here«To-Go» (When I got home opened the food boxes and the«Orange Chicken» was Hard, over cooked and Extremely Dry. The sauce was over cooked, turned into a molasses kinda sauce. #EW okay so on to the positive and the reason why I give this restaurant 5 ***** STARS is for the LATENIGHT delivery Service they have last time to order on the week days is around 10:45pm last call for orders!) So the usual has been the following items! || Wonton Soup || || Egg Rolls || || Orange Chicken || || Egg /Scallion Fried Rice || YUMM || Salt and Pepper Wings || WOWYUMM || MEXICANCOKE || || Iced Tea || ** EXTRAHOT Sauce /Fortune Cookies /and Sweet red Sauce!!! ** I’ve ordered about 3 times from this place and always for delivery! Everything arrives Warm — Hot ;) Delivered within 45 mins to 1 hour:/ Sometimes a little over and hour… It’s worth it! If your craving Chinese Food Please give this place a try!

I’ve frequented this business on occasion. Ordering the same thing almost every time. This time, the chicken was dry and soggy, the brown rice was hard and dry. Both as if they were sitting under the heat lamp for too long. This is not the ordinary quality of food I am accustomed to from Kung Pao. What happened guys???

I have mixed feelings of Kung Pao Bistro. My main concern is the fact that each time I come here, I have no idea who my server really is. We’re given utensils by one guy, our order taken by another, our food is brought by another lady, and our check is delivered again by someone completely different. Like who is my tip going to? And that question is only asked half-heartedly, because honestly the service is extremely terrible. The ambience can be best described as awkward, to say the least. The music that is usually playing is soft-rock from the 90s, and the volume is low. I can hear myself chew and swallow. Within the first 15 minutes, I can’t wait to leave and go outside. The good things about Kung Pao is that everything is made to order. If you want to omit a certain ingredient, they’ll let you; everything is made fresh. Also, the menu is easy to read and has helpful guides to the spiciness level of the foods & the gluten free and vegan dishes they offer. The taste of the food is pretty good, but definitely not the best Chinese/Asian-fusion I’ve had. All in all, I don’t believe I’ll be coming here again. I’d much rather spend my money somewhere else for a much nicer experience.

This place is awful with customer service they make you wait an extra 30 min even after you phone in. Skip this place and go somewhere with better customer service and better food as well not worth the wait.

The food was alright, I had the orange chicken and fried rice. When the food came out, it was room temperature, almost cold. For what you pay, the portions are small. You’ll probably get more full at Panda Express. The service was good but I don’t see myself coming back.

Best Chinese place in Weho. Wish the staff was a bit more professional but you can’t win them all. I live around the corner and have dined here many a time. Best dish on the menu is the Angus pepper steak! Mouth watering – trust!

This is the worst place I’ve ever seen. They took 4 hours to deliver something 1.5 blocks away! That is not a typo! 4.5 hours! The host said it would be there in 5 – 10 min. After 4.5 hours it came cold and disgusting! Never order from here!

Absolutely horrible with deliveries. We live 3 blocks away and were swamped with chores. We decided to order in, because in that time we would be done with our duties and delivery would have arrived. WRONG. An hour later we call and we are told that it would be another 15 – 20 mins. HOWISTHATPOSSIBLE ?! The food here is subpar and I question why we bother ordering from them. They usually always take forever with orders and claim they are«busy». But all the times I’ve ever gone to whole foods next to them, they are never busy.

We’ve been getting take out from here a lot recently and have been very happy with all the dishes. Quick and friendly service and the price point is decent. The black pepper chicken is a must get! Parking can be tricky even though the have designated spots in the lot. Delivery is better option.

So driving around west Hollywood and just looking for somewhere to eat, we walked in. The reviews were a little mixed but the crispy beef was not my cup of tea. It had a really big ginger taste to it. The kung pow chicken was really good. Miso soup was ok. A lot more sea weed and tofu then I’m used it. the pot stickers were really good I probably would never go back And best advice STAYAWAYFROMTHETHAITEA

GARLICSTRINGBEANS — quite crispy with good amount of garlic and soy. JUNGPAOCHICKEN — ordered it extra spicy but wasn’t that spicy to me… but the kung pao flavor was a little off to me. JASMINETEA — the typical Overall was ok but not sure if I will be coming back.

I’ve never dined in house, I have received delivery three times. Never disappointed. My favorite entrees are the beef with broccoli which has a sweet sauce similar to a teriyaki sauce and the broccoli is always cooked perfectly; and the orange chicken which is sweet and spicy and the perfect combination of a crispy and soft batter on the chicken. I’ve tried the egg fried rice(didn’t care for it, but I don’t generally like fried rice), steamed white rice, and the lo mein(really good). The only negative thing I would have to say is the wait time on delivery. It’s always an hour +.

*Vegans Beware!* Out of the five times we’ve gone to Kung Pao Bistro they’ve screwed up our orders 3 out of 5 times. The first screwup they used REAL chicken instead of the fake and when asked to replace the dish they were unapologetic and didn’t take anything off the bill, they just remade the dish…30 minutes later. Last night we ordered a few things for take up off the vegan menu, and what do you know… our veggie fried rice with instructions for no egg had egg. A member of our party had an allergy but luckily we spotted it first. We called, they replaced it and offered to drop it off but we picked it up instead… just to check. Also, they didn’t include utensils for the takeout because the«manager told them not to.» The food is good and they DO have a vegan menu but they hardly seem able to make items vegan properly. Why even bother if you’re going to screw it up most of the time? The management is fairly rude when you ask to replace it with what you ordered. Totally screwed up orders 3 out of 5 times is a pretty poor record. Vegans beware.

Food was ok and waiters barely cam to our table. They would always come to the table right next to us but wouldn’t take a look at us. The crispy beef was NOT crispy. It was pretty spongy. Don’t PANIC because there is an automatic TIPFEE of 18%… Salt and pepper chicken was TOOOOOO salty!!!

CHINESE food should be stir-fried and be a little greasy; and should come with rice or noodles and chopsticks and and soy sauce jars. I have very mediocre ideas of what Chinese food should be. But what I’ve had here was, in the very best light possible, the best of a P.F. Chang’s-induced food coma. This place goes a step further by offering vegan chicken to many their meat options, which their fake ‘chicken’ is quite excellent but so expensive! Is it worth it on its own? Besides sometimes coming here for lunch specials that offer vegan chicken options, I had a $ 30 Groupon. Woot. I decided to get dinner portions of some of their amazing vegan chicken dishes with my partner. The vegan chicken is as thick and has the consistency of something between tofurky and gnocchi. I got the orange vegan chicken for $ 15 and my partner got the garlic pepper vegan chicken for like $ 14. These ‘meaty’ fake chicken balls are coated in a glaze of orange sauce, which I now worry is orange flavored high-fructose corn syrup, according to Mary O and from a couple of reviews I’ve read. The garlic pepper chicken offers a way more subtle flavored but is still oddly sweet with the zesty peppers and garlic. Yet they were as good as I expected. I am unsure what took so long, but it was an hour wait between receiving egg rolls and the actual food. Since it was a Friday night and we were worried about being too early to the show we were about to go to, this wait was in a way very welcome. I feel pathetic for saying this but there is no restaurant close to P.F. Chang’s anymore eastward than this place, so I consider myself a fan of Kung Pao Bistro because it’s the closest fake Chinese food bistro near Los Feliz. This place definitely satisfies a superficially sweet or salty snack kind of Chinese food craving.

***3.5 stars for Dine-In*** Decent Chinese food here, not the best and not the worst, but the beer selection for dining in is outstanding(lots of imports, beers on draft, etc). Not somewhere I’d order delivery from(I prefer Hunan Café or Shanghai Grill) but I’d eat here again for the convenient location(next to the Whole Foods, with a large, shared parking lot) and beer selection, especially with a groupon. Vegetable dumplings — despite getting them pan fried, they were still a bit soggy. Bok Choy — Smallish portion. Average. Traditional style fried rice with chicken — Above average, and a generous serving size. Hot Garlic Chicken — my favorite of the dishes we ordered, and one I’d definitely get again. It wasn’t really that«hot» by my standards, but it was still very flavorful and the chicken very tender.
