It’s a shame that East Wok is no longer in business as we’ve been getting Chinese take-out from them for years!

We ordered today for lunch using their online system and it never showed up. About 30 minutes after it was supposed to be delivered I tried the number given online and no answer. This was very disruptive to our day and I will not be ordering from East Wok again. :(

I dig East Wok. It’s out go-to order spot for delivery. Good sized portions, good flavor, huge menu. And the delivery guy… legit. He’s so graceful, and respectful of your front door so rather than knocking hard for fear of breaking it, methinks he gingerly tosses a grain of sand at it in hope of getting your attention. What I am trying to say is yeah, order, the place is good… but keep an eye out for the delivery guy because it’s impossible to hear him knocking even if you have your ear to the door. And it’s been like this for years.

I’ve been here 4 times. The service is always great and the waitress there always remembers what I got the previous time! She’s got stellar memory. The food is awesome i’ve gotten the: walnut shrimp Spicy eggplant lemon chicken garlic shrimp roasted duck ALLAREGREAT! you get plenty of food, it’s fresh, yummy, and your water or soda is always filled up to the top! If you get the combo, be prepared to take food home, you get soup, rice, fried wontons, egg roll, this yummy fried meat in foil, and your entrée! It’s great, I love this place.

Is it going to be P-I-Z-Z-A night? I shuddered and said no. I suggested Mexican. No one seemed interested. Middle Eastern around this neighborhood for take-out gets pricey. I even threw out the dreaded Thai suggestion. I was told that was too ethnic. So, we ordered Chinese because as we know, it’s well-liked and universally pleasing to all palates. Ahahah. I told them I didn’t care what was ordered since I was just hungry and was prepared to eat anything. For five adults and one child, we ordered: garlic spinach shrimp with snow peas General Tso’s chicken cashew chicken Maybe I should have looked at the take-out menu. Hmm. Everything arrived in a giant paper bag and was steaming hot. The containers are the fancier kind with clear lids so you can see what you’re getting. I enjoyed the fact all the dishes came with a decent amount of veggies including the General Tso’s chicken with almost half of it being baby bok choy. The chicken itself was not that spicy. The cashew chicken was diced as finely as the water chestnuts causing the child much grief as she didn’t like the water chestnuts. Good thing her parents didn’t want to waste the food and ate it for her. The shrimp with snow peas was a good dish with quite a bit of shrimp. Only my best friend and I ate the garlic spinach which was a huge serving. I liked it but she thought it was a little too gritty. They also threw in almond cookies along with the fortune cookies. Unfortunately, the almond cookie was a bit stale. Overall, not a bad choice for take-out Chinese as it wasn’t too greasy and was generous on the portions.
